SO Disappointed
I was so excited to order this dress for my wedding. I asked a friend to take and re-take my exact measurements down to the 1/4". I sent them in and confirmed the length with a representative, Janet. It was only after I ordered started emailing with Janet and saw Chinese characters all over it that I realized the store is based in China, not the U.K. Deceiving, but not a big deal inherently. But when I received the dress a month later, I discovered three immediate, major problems with it: instead of 1" below the knee, as we confirmed, it comes almost down to the floor (that's already a $200 alteration fee for a $180 dress). 2. The bra cups are completely visible through the lace. 3. The zipper was cheap and got stuck on the thick layers of fabric, and could only go past the waist seam with PLIERS. I took some time to think about what I wanted to do, and decided to pay to have it altered (a total of $320 for a $180 dress to hem, replace zipper, and replace bra cups). I contacted Janet and explained the situation, and she denied that the zipper was faulty and then merely referred me to the totally unreasonable return policy of contacting her within 2 days of receipt. I asked her to help pay for the alterations, especially because I gave my exact measurements and the sewing staff made all the errors. No response. So in return for my immense frustration, she and her company get this review. I am so irritated. Also, the fabric does not feel amazing, as the other reviewer mentioned. It is cheap.
UPDATE: After some back and forth, Janet agreed to have her staff do the alterations for free, but I chose to continue working with a tailor that I trust instead. I thanked her for her offer and told her I would update my review accordingly. I would like to point out, however, that I posted the same review as above on the company website, and it was deleted immediately.
