Shut them down as they are not in Australia anymore

These guys were great until I reapplied last week, and they have moved their operation offshore to who knows where.
I had 4 loans from them in the last 12 months and all paid off , never missed a payment. I applied and they offered $500 ,strange as all the loans I had were over $2000 to $3000 each and even paid off two loans at the one time.
No operation in Australia and no one to contact. You get a lame call centre in the Philippines I think, as they don't sound like Indians .
They lie to you, as when I gave them access 3 times to my Centrelink account to gather an income statement they said to me it was mew accessed the account, and they had not received anything.
I sent them a statement from Centrelink and they told me the loan for 500 was still under review and they would let me know.
However they had already sent a repayment authority to my bank for approval for the loan repayments.
They also sent me an internal complaints review email on Friday of last week saying they would send me an email within 48 hours regarding my complaint as to them accessing my myGov account 3 times.
However I have not received any information regarding the complaint, thatI had not even lodged.

Does not follow Aus Credit Laws

This company operates using illegal practices. Under Australian credit laws individuals are allowed to request deletion of all their personal data from ANY financial provider. Moneyspot retaliates by telling you if they do this you will be banned from any future applications then if you call them up on this they state that because you agree to the ban email it is assumed you want nothing more to do with the company.

This is illegal under Australian credit laws. No credit company can Ban or Blacklist you for a personal data delete request regardless of if they email you first asking you to confirm you agree first. Australian law states anything illegal agreed to or not is not legally binding and therefore invalid.

They also SPAM you once you have an application in, I was getting at least three emails a day with no unsubscribe link, a breach of Australian antispam laws.

My recommendation is go elsewhere

Had loans and paid them off without any issues however it's a case they approve when it suits them but decline when they don't want to assist. Pity I had to give it one star as they harass you with notifications and promotional material saying I'm a loyal customer??? Yeah no thanks

Stay clear of Moneyspot

I successfuly repaid several loans over the years with no issue yet refused this time with only explanation (after requesting) due to bank statements. Certainly not what the end of term email said saying 'you are an excellent customer and future loans a click away'. I repaid all past loans not missing any instalment and this should of been taken into account. You pay the exhorbitant interest of 48% to cover any risk. In hindsight this was a godsend as I realised I am losing money with these short term loans. Moneyspot charge you $400-$600 in establishment fees plus the high interest which is crazy. My advice to all is to avoid these providers at all costs. Review your budget and if you do need money quickly do your research - lean towards providers which offer to pay over 4 instalments with little to no interest. At end of the day these companies don't give a hoot about you - stay clear and save your money.
