Really good service, before, during and after the stay.
If you ever go to Riga, Latvia, I recommend you consider the Monika Hotel. We were 4 people in two rooms having a 3-days stay there in August. It's a lovely small hotel in a classic old building in the centre of the city. Before we arrived, we were offered an upgrade from a standard double room to a junior suite for a very good price of 15-euro pr day, which we accepted. The room is very 1900s classic, spacious, with high ceiling and a small balcony. Just the way I like it. The decor in the hotel's restaurant, reception and small bar is 80's style and needs modernisation. Could be either bringing it back to classic style or updating it to modern day style. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Even after the stay. When I came home, I discovered I had forgotten knitted sweater in the restaurant on the morning of departure, and worse, I had forgotten to empty the room safety box, where I had left my wallet. I contacted the hotel and helped me secure both, and arranged to send it as a postal package, which I received some days later. Really good service, before, during and after the stay.
