Friendly and helpfull

I was put in touch with Moor to Sea by my insurers re a faulty item that was still net warranty. Sandra was friendly and very helpful. She rearranged my appointment to suit me and was very helpful when I had to cancel the appointment the following week.
Excellent service, thank you

Excellent all round

Communication from start to finish was excellent. The job was done sooner than expected and cheaper. What more can you ask?

Beware of cost of replacement OEM parts.

Beware of this Company, as in my experience they charge far too much for replacement parts, in my case more than 5 x the cost that you can buy OEM parts online.

I suspect this is part of their business model, and where their profit is made, given that there is only a small margin if any on labour coats plus on-costs.

I suspect they are profiteering on the back of their manufacturer appointments, by systematically over-charging for OEM parts.

Yes they have efficient and able engineers, and yes their staff are lovely, but do check out the online price of replacement parts and compare with what they have charged you.

Hi Mr Hawkey, thank you for your review. I'm interested in your experience and I would like to understand more.

We charge the recommended retail price for spare parts as per the manufacturer's own pricing, where we are the approved manufacturer repairer. This should never be 5 x the cost that you could buy the part online. Every repair company will have a margin on the spare part, especially as we have to guarantee the spare part for 12 months. I have sent an information request if you are able to help me better understand your experience.

Thank you

*UPDATE*

Having investigated this individual instance, I can confirm there was an error with the pricing on the parts on this call which was as a result of us adopting a new system - on this call it multiplied from the cost price instead of working from the retail price. This was challenged and amended at the time of the call, in 2024 and the correct retail amount charged. This process alerted us to this issue and was resolved in 2024.

It is not within our business model to price gouge customers - we are a family run local business of over 30 years and we rely on repeat custom to survive.

What a waste of time.

What a waste of time.
Waited in engineer can replaced all parts.
Told us that the plug socket had failed overnight lol.
Five days later another engineer came and stripped the induction hob to pieces to amazingly found that the hob was not even connected to the mains power.
Tried to get compensation but a measly 50 pounds given as i paid cash to electrician to replace a good plug socket and again to prove the voltage was correct.
Not impressed at all by engineers attitude and incompetence in not connecting the hob to the mains power

Knowledgeable competent and personable engineer.

Kirsty is the only Gas safe engineer for Devon and so could only come to repair our Rangemaster on Wednesdays (hence 4 stars not 5) This meant our oven was not working correctly for more than 3 weeks. However, she identified the problem and as it needed spare parts had to reschedule the repair. I was impressed with the communication regarding the timing for the visits and once the new parts were fitted the oven works correctly. She was a delight to have in the house.

Great service from two very professional engineers. First visit diagnosed fault and ordered repair parts. Second visit to fit. Great communication from Head Office team and useful app to track your engineer as he heads your way.
Five stars from me!

Sandra in the office was great so kind, helpful and friendly. James the engineer was absolutely first class. I highly recommend, much better than the bigger companies.

EXCELLENT SERVICE.

Having phoned Miele Service Centre because my, 30 year old, Miele washing machine had become very noisy in operation, I was advised to contact their authorised repairer in Cornwall, Moortoseaservices.
They arranged for their engineer, James, to call today.
He quickly diagnosed that the shock absorbers in the machine had worn out, and told me that he had replacements on his van, which he then fitted, before testing the machine. This then worked like new again.
James was very efficient and friendly and I cannot speak too highly of the quality of his work.

They came out quickly to my broken…

They came out quickly to my broken fridge freezer which was only 3 years old, the engineer said it needed a re-gas, but did not have the adaptor to fit my fridge so reset it instead. That did not fix the problem, then we had to wait 2 Weeks for another appointment in which time we lost the contents of our freezer. The second engineer turned up and said yes it needs a regas which he completed and the fridge freezer appeared to be working, two weeks later we are back to the same fault and lost another load of food in the freezer. They then had the cheek to charge £160 for not fixing my freezer and costing us two loads of ruined food from the freezer. If you use this company beware you may pay a lot of money for nothing,we cut our losses and brought a new one, but not electrolux as they are absolute crap.

Excellent Company That Helped To Keep Our Dishwasher Working

Dealing with a fault on a 16 year old dishwasher is always a financial gamble, but we hate to send things to landfill unnecessarily and waste money to boot. Suspecting our fault was likely just a seal or washer, when I got as far as I could I called for expert help.

Whilst our engineer (who shared our views on waste & repairing) had the part with him we were really pleased that all that was needed was a little PTFE tape knowledgably applied.

This was a great outcome.

The whole experience with Moor to Sea Services was extremely professional in every way, from making and keeping the appointment, to the final outcome. If only every company were this good.

Very happy to thoroughly recommend them and will certainly use them again when we need.
