I had the worst experience with this…
I am writing this review to share my personal experience so others can make an informed decision.
From the beginning of my lessons, I felt uncomfortable. The instructor frequently grabbed the steering wheel in situations where there was no immediate danger. This made me increasingly nervous and undermined my confidence as a learner. His manner often felt panicked and more focused on protecting the car than on teaching calmly and reassuringly.
During a two-hour lesson on an unfamiliar route, I became extremely overwhelmed. The instructions were delivered in a way that caused me to panic. When the car stalled and another driver began sounding their horn, I became very distressed — I was crying, shaking, and struggling to breathe. I asked to stop so I could get some fresh air and calm myself.
Instead of being reassured or supported, I was left alone in an unfamiliar area around 40 minutes from my home. I did not feel safe or emotionally able to continue driving and had to call my husband to come and collect me.
This review is not about my driving ability. I have several years of driving experience in my home country. It is about how I was treated during the lesson and how my distress was handled. A learner driver’s wellbeing and safety should always be the priority.
The instructor’s public replies to my review have focused on blaming me personally rather than acknowledging my distress or reflecting on his conduct. Those responses have only reinforced my concerns.
I am sharing this experience to help others — particularly women — decide whether this instructor is right for them.
