Bought a Citroen Pluriel from Motoring City Ltd early March 26. I wanted a car for my sons to learn to drive in, and was reassured that the car would have been serviced with a new MOT.I knew it had some faults (roof did not retract properly) and had planned to fix these up myself. The sale process was efficient and reassuring and the car arrived a day early but initially seemed fine. When I drove it that night, however I realised that there was an issue with the headlights. When I investigated the following day, in one headlight the driving light and full beam had been spliced together, and in the other headlight, a yellow duster had been packed into the headlight to keep the bulbs in place. At that point it was obvious to me that the car had not been MOT'd correctly. (The dealer later went on to tell me that the MOT tester claimed that these issues were not present during the MOT, with the implication that I must have caused them myself?!)The car was collected to rectify these faults a week later. The dealer had the car for 10 days after that, and no progress was made with the repairs, so I formally rejected it. It took a further week to get a refund and some paper work so that I could get an insurance refund. The car was put back on Autotrader by the dealer later that day.I am unsure where we are with the road tax, because when I tried to cancel this, it said that the dealer had not sent off the V5, which I have heard can be a tactic to avoid the 'Number of Previous Owners'All in all, a company best avoided.
After my mums car got stoleb ww went on the market to find her a replacement. We found the same model just newer with less miles at motoring city.
The staff at Motoring City were very helpful answering all of our questions and allowing my mum to go on a test drive.
They supplied all documentation for the car, cleaned and MOT'd it and purchased the road tax (we paid for the tax but they went through process of taxing the car which does take 48hrs due to the method by which they do it).
The car was delivered in tip top condition and my mum has been enjoying it since.
So if you are looking for a car and they have what you are looking for give them a try.
Ricky was great from the start he was really nice and helpful.
Had a video call today with Eddie who showed me around my new car and pointed out any little marks.
Excellent service really helpful and answered any questions i had.
Very excited to get my new car next week which they are also delivering for me.
Highly recommend Motoring City
I purchased two reports on two of their cars, and both of them come with hidden histories! Don't waste any time and money.
Through Autotrader, I recently bought a car from them. The car had just come on the market without photos. I emailed them with questions as per other dealers including "Approved Used Dealers." If my questions are not answered the matter is closed irrespective of how good the car is or how good the offer may be. Ricky from Motoring City dealt with my queries and I told him I would visit the next morning (it was already late in the day). As it would seem now (I do not change cars frequently), the customary procedure is to put a deposit on a car before doing anything. As a traditionalist I find this irritating. I did not offer nor was I asked for a deposit - I hope Ricky's intuition kicked in. I was confronted in a courteous and respectful manner, no sales pushing. Ricky seems to be the main focal point of the business, he is softly spoken, respectful and does he's utmost to provide a quality experience and service. I had read some of the Autotrader Reviews and concur with the positive comments. Since the car was not ready in presentation as it was 'hot off the press' he pointed out minor defects to plastic components of the body. The painted parts were pristine. I too pointed out specifics and these were already noted. All my requests were dealt with. No hassle, no nothing. The car was delivered to me spotless, on time. I would recommend them.
