Our organic cocoa absolute is extracted from the roasted beans of Theobroma cacao. It has a warm, bittersweet, and earthy aroma with characteristic chocolate notes. Cocoa absolute is a middle to base note that can be added to lotions, creams, perfumes, and body scrubs. Thicker absolutes like cocoa are not recommended for use in a diffuser. The cacao beans used in our cocoa oil are grown in the Dominican Republic, Peru, and Tanzania. Our cocoa absolute has a slightly viscous consistency, it is helpful to start with a small quantity of the other ingredients you are using (such as carrier oil or butter) and thoroughly blend the cocoa absolute until it is completely combined. This will make it easier to incorporate the blended mix into the rest of your ingredients. This absolute has a dark brown color that may affect finished products or stain clothing. Precautions No known precautions. Never use essential oils undiluted, in eyes or mucus membranes. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified and expert practitioner. Keep away from children. Before using topically, perform a small patch test on your inner forearm or back by applying a small quantity of diluted essential oil and apply a bandage.
