Product details

Valerian grows best in full sun and average to wet, well-drained soils. Valeriana officinalis root is often used in making teas, tinctures, or capsules. The flowers smell sweet and pleasant, while in contrast, the roots are pungent and musty. Part of the Caprifoliaceae family, valerian produces white to light pink flowers in the spring that grow in clusters of branched panicles. Growing three to five feet tall, it has light green leaves that are small and almost fern like on the main stem of the plant. The roots contain valerianic acid and are usually harvested after the second year. Cats are drawn to this herb much like they are drawn to catnip. Valerian is easily grown from seed and can be sown directly outside in the early spring. Tamp seeds into prepared soil once the last frost has passed. Seedlings should emerge within two weeks. Be sure to keep the young plants evenly moist, but do not over water them. This Herb Appears In • Organic Valerian Root • Organic Valerian Root Powder • Organic Sleep Care Extract • Organic Valerian Extract • Organic Valerian Skullcap Extract • Valerian Root Capsules • Organic Fidnemed Nighttime Tea • Organic The Blues Tea

I got this to grow and then had to relocate and so I am reordering. I went by the old spot and that dumb landlord doesn’t water a thing it looked dead and ugly but not the seeds fault.
