Sturdy mower. The rear deflector purchased with the mower does not fit without removing inserts on the brackets to make the U slots large enough. This is inconvenient and was not explained in any instruction. Communications to Mountfield Support and email to Customer service seeking guidance went unanswered. White Glove supplying dealer was unable to advise either. Engine cutting out on dismount when blades are disengaged and parking brake is ON is annoying and unnecessary. Makes hopping on and off tractor when using a trailer tedious.

Three times I was given a delivery date and it never arrived. Apparently it was plagued with problems and another mower was sent out and that one had issues, so I cancelled my order.

Broke down 3 weeks after bought . Been back at supplier and supposably fixed for more than a fortnight but they have no workforce with time to return the mower . Worst warranty service I have ever known .

Have now had chance to use several times. My main concern is that the gear change is terrible. It is pure chance that you can select the correct gear. Assuming that you are in neutral is dangerous as often you are not so, releasing the clutch when you think you are in neutral can be dangerous. Also, the gear change mechanism is very "rigid" and considerable force is needed to change gear settings. I am sure that something will "snap off" before too long. I have been trapped close to fences etc when I could not get the gear from forward into reverse - had to turn off the engine and rock the mower manually to release the gearchange. Would not have purchased this machine had I known about the awful gear mechanism.
