The Mountfield HP185 is a great hand-propelled, petrol-driven mower. The reliable Stiga 139cc ST140 Autochoke engine and the 46cm cutting width combine to produce a hard-working, easy to use dependable mower.It has a hard-wearing robust steel deck, skid plate which reduces scalping of the lawn and a centralised lever to adjust the cutting height through 6 positions, depending on the length of grass you are cutting, ranging from 22-65mm.The large 60-litre grass collector comes with a bag full warning indicator so you can see when it needs emptying. To save time and to add valuable nutrients to your lawn, simply fit the mulching plug (supplied with the mower) and clippings are finely cut and redistributed back onto the lawn surface as you mow. The handles also fold down for easy storage and it comes with a 2-year warranty.

We had replace our other hp185 which we had always been pleased with this new one is so much better. The wheels can be raised with just one easy lever the grass box rides higher so no longer does the occasional floor skim starting it up is also much easier as no more priming ( not that any of these things were ever a “problem “ ) very pleased with our purchase.

Excellent VFM. Light weight, so easy to push and manoeuvre. The mulching attachment is brilliant, I rarely use the box now, it makes mowing the lawns so much quicker. Great little mower.

I ordered my machine online direct from Mountfield and it was delivered the next day, brilliant service. Moreover, if you buy direct I found that the price was cheeper than going to some of the large DIY stores. The machine is easy to assemble and cuts well. This is my second Mountfield lawnmower and we have not been disappointed.

I love my mower. This purchase was an upgrade from a cheap electric one purchased from B&Q and it's so nice not to have to bother with cables. The metal body gives it a quality feel over plastic, the wheels are wide enough that I can run along the edges without falling into the borders and scalping the lawn, and I love the collapsible handle which makes storing it in the garage easier. I would definitely recommend this product.
