India tour 2025

Excellent itinerary put us in locations to see not only 234 species of birds, but also tigers, leopards, monkeys, elephants, river otters, sambar, spotted deer, and other animals. The visit to the Taj Mahal was also quite memorable. And everywhere along the way were wonderful opportunities to appreciate the art and architecture, as well as the unique Indian culture.

Traveling with a small group was a great advantage. (6 people and 2 guides.). Everyone was very kind and accommodating. The birding was great. We were also able to see tigers, elephants, leopards and more.
We enjoyed the add on to Udaipur and the Taj Mahal. It was magnificent. Was well prepped on expectations for the trip.

Dear Mr Dhadra, I believe you have posted about a different business here. We www.mowgliexpeditions.com do multiday birding trips costing about $3000 per trip per person and we dont do food events. I sincerely request you to remove this review as it tarnishes our brand in error. Best Sachin - Founder

India’s birds and cultural aspects

As I write this I’m enjoying a cup of masala chai, a refreshing Indian tea that is bringing back great memories of the birding and cultural adventure I had in India hosted by Mowgli Expeditions. We birded the western Ghat areas south of Mumbai near the small town of Dandeli. This area was loaded with a great many birds, most of which were lifers for me. The lodge at Old Magazine House was well maintained. Food was good with a wide variety of Indian dishes.
Next, we headed to Bangalore and enjoyed two days in a jungle lodge near the town of Kabini. On jeep safaris we were rewarded with tigers, leopards, and wild dogs.
After the birding I travelled to the north to partake of some of the cultural aspects of India around the busy town of Udaipur. A large palace complex was the central attraction along with a unique Hindu shrine near by. A trip to the small village of Bera afforded a chance to stay a couple nights at a palace with several rooms remodeled for tourists. The highlights of this area are the many koppies (rocky hills) with chances to see the leopards found here. Yes, we saw several.
Next, we spent a day exploring the amazing Taj Mahal.
Final day was spent birding the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. Highlight was a chance to see a pair of Sarus Cranes.
The trip included expert local guides at all locations. Sachin, the owner of Mowgli, was with us and providing all the necessary logistical support needed.

Botswana is a beautiful country

Botswana is a beautiful country, very protective of its wildlife. Tourism is important and the residents were friendly, smiling and very happy to see visitors. The bird and animal sightings were fantastic. Grateful to Mowgli Expeditions and Sachin for putting together such an exciting and memorable experience.

Trip of a lifetime

We had a trip of a lifetime to Botswana and Zambia with Mowgli Expeditions. There were wonderful sights like Victoria Falls in Zambia and incredible mammal sightings including giraffes, lions, elephants, hippos, and jackals in (and more) and Botswana. We had wonderful local guides helping Sachin Aggarwal and stayed in really memorable (in a good way) local lodges. We also had fantastic views of amazing birds.

Great birding trip in Belize!

We can't say enough good things about our trip to Belize with Sachin and Mowgli Expeditions. The 10-day birding trip spanned rain forest, Mayan Ruins, river travel and the beach. Sachin thought of everything - transportation from lodge to lodge was seamless, lodges were delightful, and the guides were superlative. We would not hesitate to travel with Sachin and Mowgli again!

I had an amazing trip of a lifetime with Sachin Aggarwal (Birds and Wildlife of India). From rural towns to huge cities, we saw many aspects of Indian culture. Incredible views of wildlife including elephants, jackals, and mongoose. I saw 144 species of birds and especially loved the drongos, barbets, and hornbills. And the woodpeckers! And the kingfishers! Everything was great, from the local food, to the lodges, and all the National Parks. I look forward to traveling with Sachin to Africa some day!

Upon reading the itinerary for the November Birding and Wildlife trip to India, it became clear to me this trip was not to be missed. Rightly so, Sachin Aggarwal of Mowgli Expeditions delivered the goods! The all-inclusive trip allowed our group to relax and enjoy the ride - sightseeing, dining, hiking and birding delightful habitat, comfy accommodations as described, travel by plane, boat and train accompanied by friendly local birding guides and naturalists. Best birding ever! Sachin keeps his thinking hat on and goes the extra mile to make everything happen and everyone comfortable. Lovely India, I hope to return.

First time with Mowgli Expeditions

Sachin is the owner.
We were a group of 8 people going to India for wildlife, birds, culture and food.
I went ahead of the group to Delhi and Agra.
Sachin called to advise me about the region, even though I was not doing this part with him. We went mostly to southern India to visit NP. Everything went smooth and Sachin made sure we were happy and safe. With him we had opportunities to visit local restaurants, botanical gardens, and see how the locals live their life. I felt safe and enjoyed this trip very much. I will certainly return to India.
Thank you Sachin!!!

Accent on Adventure

The trip to Southern India was more than I ever expected. Each day was packed full of trips to national parks/preserves, boat rides, gardens and constant birdwatching opportunities. The guides in each locale were excellent. About 153 species of birds were identified along with many mammals including Indian elephant and Bengal tiger.
This trip was amazing. Sachin insured that each element of the trip -from cities to villages to forests to safari, provided exciting and memorable life-long experiences. Sachin is the "Accent on Adventure." His enthusiasm makes the trip a success!

Rwanda/Uganda review

Our trip to Rwanda and Uganda started off with a lot of excitement. This isn't your usual East Africa trip - after all we were going to trek through dense forest scouting for mountain Gorillas - the highlight of the trip. It lived up to every wild expectation we had minus Tarzan.

We started our travels in Kigali - Rwanda is a beautiful country, clean, and her people are friendly to a fault. It's a country that is shaking off its dark past of genocide. I wish them the very best! Do visit the Genocide Memorial - we all can learn a lot from that dark past.

Day 1 - Golden Monkeys at Virunga. Mild trek through bamboo forest to view these beautiful creatures very up close. Stop on the way when you see sugarcane and chew on it the old fashioned way.
Day 2 - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - and trust me it IS!! It's about a 15 mile round trip to spend an hour with the Nkuringo family. For God's sake please don't ask if Gorilla's are "aggressive", "are they man-eaters" and the like. They are the most gentle beings I have seen. What a beautiful, tiring, beautiful, life-changing experience. There are 900, yes just 900 left in the wild!
Day 3 - Brief stop over at Kalinzu to spot Chimps (on the way to Queen Elizabeth National Park. We saw them right away, but they prefer to hang out waaay on top of the canopy. Still worthwhile.
Day 4 - Queen Elizabeth National Park - very large area, but not as prolific as the Maara. Evening boat tour down the Kazinga Channel was a dream. Spectacular. I recommend doing this twice in lieu of going inside the park.
Day 5 - Lake Mburo National Park. Rwakoko lodge is high up on a rocky hill - its a beautiful lodge. Night safari and next day morning bird walk were the highlights. We all wished we should have spent an extra day here. Watch out for baboons - these curious, naughty buggers will steal anything they can lay their hands on. One of them still has my wife-beater T-shirt!
Day 6 - Loooong drive to Jinja - the source of the Nile. To be honest the drive was very tiring - especially after the first 5 days where we spent a lot of time amongst nature. En route you can stop by the Equator and take those selfies!! Also don't hesitate to try the local banana hooch, or the sweet bananas themselves. Jinja is a busy, dusty town - go there if you are into white water rafting, or would like a quite kayak down the river. Very nice experience - but be prepared for a long drive.

Why Mowgli? Personalized touch, attention to a lot of detail. Sachin is very passionate about what he does and it shows. He'll go out of his way to make your experience a great one. Don't even hesitate. Ask and he will tailor a trip you will cherish.

My third trip with Mowgli Expeditions, this says it all!

Uganda and Rwanda are not second tier safari destinations if you know what you are looking for and this is exactly where Mowgli Expeditions helped. The focus of this safari was to see primates up close and personal and Mowgli once again did an awesome job in making this trip memorable. We were able to view golden monkeys, colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, baboons, and mountain gorillas. Observing a troop of golden monkeys going about their daily life in Rwanda and having mountain gorillas almost brush past you in Bwindi National Park in Uganda - these are once in a lifetime experiences. I never expected Rwanda to be an absolute jewel. The only thing people have read about Rwanda is the genocide that occurred there. 24 years have passed and now Rwanda is a spectacularly clean and well managed country, the people are peaceful and dignified, the weather is wonderful and we did not see a single pot hole all through our road trip there! The grand finale of the trip was a 2-day white water rafting experience in the river Nile in Jinja which is one of the sources of the Nile (Blue Nile) and 2 hours from Entebbe airport in Uganda.

Writing this brings back so many wonderful memories. Once again, Mowgli pulled off an awesome all-inclusive trip that included pick-up/drop-off from all airports, all ground transportation in the form of a spacious and sometimes temperamental Landcruiser which was entertaining in itself, charted out a well-thought out itinerary, picked unique and comfortable lodges and camps, ensured most of our individual needs were catered to, and above all made sure we had another unforgettable trip - all within an affordable budget. Looking forward to my third trip with Mowgli - perhaps a road trip in Namibia combined with a self-drive safari in Kruger!
