Unreliable boiler

My boiler was installed 3 years ago and have had nothing but isdues since. On one ocassion i paid £500+ for a repair which did not resolve the problem. The engineer who came up after the last repair removed a part we paid for saying it wasnt needed.Said part is lying in my cupboard. Leaks have ocurred on an ongoing basis .The installers MPH blamed the manufacturer and they blamed MPH.As of now my boiler hss developed another leak resulting in the need to turn off my heating.I have no faith in MPH and would not agree with their claim that they are a reliable efficient dependable company.I advise customers to avoid as I will now have to replace this boiler.

Quote not forthcoming

They responded quickly to an enquiry I made via an intermediary company, and arranged to come to my house to check the current boiler and give a quote for a new one. They did not turn up, and I never heard from them again.

AVOID this company!

AVOID this company! - They couldn't care less.

A representative of MPH Boilers came out to our home to recommend a boiler that would be suitable for the property. Under his recommendation we got an electric boiler which he assured us would be efficient in heating up the house.

The temperature in the living room where the thermostat was located reached only 16 degrees with all the doors closed and the boiler on for 6 hours. The other rooms, including the kitchen, studio, bedrooms and bathroom remained freezing cold, leaving us in a non liveable situation.

We had a 4 year old boy in the house and his room was too cold for him to sleep in safely. We received an electricity bill of £674.92 for the 3 week period following the installation - this was prior to the increase in energy prices.

We could no longer afford to live in our home and it was too cold to stay in (even with the heating on).

We had to move out of our home.

Prior to the electric boiler being fitted we had an oil boiler with a tank outside that cost approximately £250-£300 every 2-3 months to fill up and the house was lovely and warm.

We were out of our home for 3 months. In order to move back in we decided to install a wood burner. Now we are left paying for a boiler that we can't use except to heat the water - and it doesn't do a sufficient job of that either, we boil the kettle to wash the dishes and can only have a 5 minute shower before it runs cold.

We contacted MPH boilers and explained the situation. The couldn't have cared less and ignored the last email I sent.

To summarise: We are paying almost 5K for a system we can't use, we had to move out of our home, we lost a substantial amount of earnings because we work from our studio at home, and we had to pay for a stove so that we could move back in.

I am still in shock that all of this has happened and I hate writing bad reviews but I do not want anyone else to go through what we went through. I recommend that anyone who is considering hiring MPH Boilers to avoid them like the plague and look for a company who cares about their customers.

- There were also some really dodgy sales tactics when we signed up too, including passing off a loan from Shawbrook Bank as government backed funding and apparently giving us, complete strangers, 'mates rates'. I really wish we had paid attention to the red flags now.

Wonderful team and service...Delighted!

This is the best experience of any trade team I have used. From Gavin in sales organising it, through to John and Joe performing the install, the service was flawless. The builder even made good some holes left by the previous installers, many years ago. Could not be happier with the team, process and clarity of procedure. Brilliant!
