I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the service I received from Mr. Delivery and Mug & Bean on my recent order. On 26 January 2025, I placed an order for three California breakfasts with extra fries through the Mr. Delivery platform.

Regrettably, when I received my order, I was shocked to find that it was incomplete. The order did not include the extra fries I had specifically requested, nor did it come with cutlery, salt, or pepper.

I immediately contacted Mug & Bean to report the issue, and they informed me that Mr. Delivery was responsible for the missing items, as they had allegedly given the fries to the delivery driver.

I have since attempted to contact Mr. Delivery through various channels, including phone calls, messages, and WhatsApp. Unfortunately, my efforts have been met with complete disregard. My messages and calls have gone unanswered, and the only response I received on WhatsApp was from a robot that failed to understand my complaint.

As a customer, I expect a certain level of service and quality from the establishments I support. The lack of attention to detail, combined with the poor communication and disregard for customer complaints, has fallen short of my expectations.

I hope that you will take my complaint seriously and take immediate action to address the issues I have raised. I would appreciate a formal response regarding the steps you will take to prevent such incidents in the future.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Atrocious service

Atrocious service. This experience was not what I had become accustomed to with Mr D. The driver arrived. He shoved the pizza in my hands without uttering a single word. Not even a grunt. Regrettably I tipped upfront.
I sit down to eat my dinner and the pizza has clearly been dropped on its side. With most of the toppings lying in one corner.

I placed an order with Mr D using the Pick n Pay feature for groceries. Shortly after, I realized I had forgotten to add an item, so I used their "Update Order" feature. Instead of simply charging me for the additional item, Mr D charged me the full amount of R580 again, resulting in a total charge of R1,160.

Frustrated, I canceled the order, only to find out that the refund of R580 was credited to my Mr D account instead of being returned to my original payment method. This is completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, the payout feature states that I now have to wait five business days to get my money back. Considering it’s the festive season, this delay is highly inconvenient.

The lack of a contact number to dispute issues like this is equally disappointing. I’ve been a loyal customer for 10 years, but this experience has made me reconsider using their service in the future.

Very bad and unprofessional services…

Very bad and unprofessional services experienced. Placed the order on MrD for 3 lamb Biriyanis at Chennai Express Indian Restaurant Randburg, order arrived on time but when we start eating found all the Lamb Biriyanis were mixed with boneless chicken. Contacted the call center for complaint, service consultant asked for the pictures, pictures been sent via email and made a call after 45 min sent email to follow up the complaint but unfortunately the other services consistent was not very accommodating because she asked for more pictures which I felt were excuses not to resolve the matter. Even I told her send the driver to collect the food and investigate but she was insisting to send more pictures. According to me that is not the way resolving the matter . Very unprofessional, I deleted the MrD account, no need this app nonsense any longer, please watch if your are using the services for this app. Not recommendation for this app at all . The worst customers services and support.

Mr D is a SCAM!!!!!

Mr D is the worst service I have ever experienced. I placed an order at a store for delivery the store rejected the order however the money was already deducted from my account. I then requested a refund from Mr D they said it will be processed in 5 business days. Long story short I have only received R100,50 from a R373,50 order. When I call to enquire I’m told that that’s just how things are done. Refunds are given in drips and drabs. I asked for a supervisor they said they don’t allow you to speak directly to the supervisor you only ask questions through the agent. Long story short I haven’t received my money back and I’m being told to wait it will come when it comes. You have no idea how much airtime I wasted being put on hold for MY own money!!!! No it’s giving scam!! Don’t!!! I repeat Don’t use Mr D!!! They are scammers!!!! You will never get your hard worked cash back even if you cry. They don’t care!!!! Funny when you order you pay full amount up front. But for them to refund you what’s yours it’s a HUGE problem they will speak to you rudely and tell you it’s just how things are done.

Literally screw Mr D foreign drivers

Your drivers will be bringing you allot of quotes and requests for headlamp replacements/repairs, I will be wripping those things TF off as a motorcyclist myself. They drive with brights on 24/7 + extra headlights on top of that, when you almost lose your and your teenage daughter's life in an accident ONLY BECAUSE of this fkn driver's bright lights, they still refuse to turn them down. So Mr D, your vehucle property being rented by foreigners will be vandalized by the masses. Just....fyi, your drivers are safe but headlamps....I'm not sorry, but they are going.

This is a great restaurant’s. to eat at

This is a great restaurant to eat at. The food is priced reasonable made fresh to order and is very delicious.
If you go there to eat and are in a hurry, you may want to go to McDonald’s or Burger King because Mr. D’s does pre-make the food and therefore once the Order is taken the food takes a little while to get to your table, especially if the restaurant is busy.

I say this because I observed a woman who came in and ordered food and then rudely told Nick the server that the food was taking too long and she wanted to cancel her order. Unfortunately, that was her loss because this is a great place to eat and Nick the server is very polite courteous concerned about how you’re doing and is very attentive to what you need.

The restaurant has a very cozy atmosphere with very friendly employees.

It’s my understanding this woman wrote a horrible review because she thought her food took too long. Shame on her for being such a poor individual.

I know this because I was there eating at the restaurant the day this occurred.

Everyone should take a trip to Mr. D’s for a meal to support Nick and enjoy a delicious meal.

Missing food orders again and again.

I had had missing food on the 22 Oct. Contacted them and still waiting on refund. And now again tonight missing food from my order. Contacted again. They started taking my details. And as I send the details. Message popping up saying they are closed. Need to contact in office hours. What the hell is wrong with them. They need to double check. I mean we get charged a markup on the orders from Mr D. As if Mcdonald isn't useless enough, they tend to not give everything on your order.

Extremely late food delivery! And very poor customer service!!!

I ordered food for delivery at 10.30 am, and when it hit 12.30 pm I called the owner and asked where my order was, there response was that it would be 15 mins away, and then when I called back at 1.20 pm! There response was very rude when he said "we can't help that we are busy, so what do u want me to do about it"! It will be the absolute last time I order food from this place!!!!!

MrD food drivers are the worst

MrD food drivers are the worst. We ordered and he refused to drive into the estate we live in. He said we should make a plan to drive to the gate ourselves as he is in a hurry.
What level of service is this....
He literally said if we don't get to the gate in 5 minutes he will be leaving. Wow!!!

Disappointing Experience with MRD App - Hacked Account and Poor Customer Service

I'm extremely dissatisfied with the MRD app after my account was hacked, resulting in unauthorized food orders and pickups at Steers. Despite being a loyal customer, I was shocked when MRD's response was a mere "sorry, we can't do anything." No refund, no compensation, no effort to make things right.

As a loyal customer who has supported MRD frequently, I expect better treatment. Instead, I feel neglected and disrespected. The lack of accountability and poor customer service has lost them my business. I will not only stop using the app but also share my disappointing experience with friends and family, discouraging them from using MRD's services.

MRD, take note: loyal customers deserve better. A refund and a more empathetic response would have gone a long way in resolving this issue. Now, you've lost a customer and potentially many more.

Mr D delivery never pitched with my food

I ordered food through jolly fisherman's on 24t August in Mitchell's plain Rocklands, and used Mr D for delivery I stood outside waited about 15 minutes for the guy to deliver my food, he never pitched...... I decided to call the guy he didn't answer his phone, I contacted the owner from jolly's he said he can't refund me, my order came to R180.... I was so disgusted at the service from Mr D and from jolly fisheries as he lied and never delivered my food and didn't answer his phone. I will never make use of Uber eats and Mr D delivery service ever again I'm damn disgusted😫👎

How can you still charge me for an order I did not receive?

Mr Delivery driver went to the wrong house, order gets cancelled yet no full refund
I ordered food from Chicken Licken Umlazi.

The driver went to the wrong address.
The order was then cancelled on the app. I called the store but their store number doesn't exist.

The called Mr Delivery to explain this issue and ask my food to be delivered to the correct address or give me a refund.

I spoke with "Lisa" from the contact call centre who told me that I will only get 50% of my order refunded.

She said that the driver did arrive at my house. That is a lie.
She said that the driver called me 3 times and I was not reachable.
My phone number did not ring. This could have been a signal issue with the network provider.

But regardless of this, the solution of only paying me 50% of my order is theft. It is not my fault that the driver went to the wrong house.

I paid a delivery fee for the order that I didn't receive.
I paid a tip to the driver for the order I didn't receive.

Delivering the food to me again was an option.
The store is still open for another 3 hours.

Mr Delivery, your customer service is bad. The arrogance and attitude of your employee is worse.

Lisa from your call centre in Cape Town did not care about a public complaint.

I will stop using Mr Delivery from now on.
I can't risk paying you for free, if future orders get cancelled because your drivers go to the wrong address
