Mr Shifter (Middlesbrough) Removals and Storage Reviews 

The team arrived bang on time - they covered all the carpets with protective matting which was great as it was a rainy day and there were messy roadworks on our street. They were careful with our furniture and belongings and the removal was carried out very efficiently. I did feel sorry for the 2 lads as we were moving into a first floor flat - with 2 flights of stairs to contend with! - but they still worked quickly (and maintained a good sense of humour!) and the move was finished on time. Both of them had a friendly 'no trouble' attitude which is just what you need with a stressy house move. Highly recommend! Thanks Mr Shifter😀

They turned up on time and packing up of the van was quick.

However they caused extensive damage to a mattress which was supposedly in a mattress cover. When I queried how this happened I was told they are 'subject to conditions of weather on the day.' It was raining on the day of the move but I would have expected them to be able to keep possessions clean and dry. The mattress was soaked through on one side and completely unusable for days while we tried to dry it out.

They also caused damage to a wardrobe and the walls of the new property.

Would not recommend.

I have used Mr Shifter 4 times in the last 2 years; 2 house moves and moves into and out of storage. Each time they have been timely, tidy, courteous and very efficient. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Excellent service from start to finish. The team who packed everything were really careful and very helpful. The removal down to London went according to plan and they were so helpful when it came to moving the piano locally. I would definitely recommend Mr Shifter.

Staff were helpful and accommodated all requests. No damage or breakages. Move was on schedule and very happy with service.

We have used the Company twice 24 years apart and they have given the same service and high level of detail to the job. Moving is very stressful and difficult but Mr Shifter made this job seamless. The advice about boxes to order was spot on and this allowed us to pack carefully. The move on the day was super with excellent attitude throughout and they didn't stop until the job was done - Nothing was any trouble. Would highly recommend Mr Shifter.

The lads where punctual .Nothing was to much trouble.They moved all our belongings safely from our old house to the new with no mishaps.Everything was placed in the room it was mean't to go in.On the whole l would recommend this company.I have told friends and family.So thank you Mr Shifter and your team for helping us.

The Mr Shifter team turned up before time, the team where very courteous and respectful.

The lads took there time and packed all our possession's with care, they packed them into the wagon with care and we never had one incident with anything breaking.

The service from getting the dates organised to physically moving our furniture was great. We moved from the North East to London so it was not straight forward. The lads who did the move could not have been more helpful.

Great removals service. Friendly and professional movers who were careful about items being moved and keen to ask questions to ensure a tailored service that met my needs.

The movers turned up on time, acted very politely and professionally, and moved my furniture very quickly. Mr Shifter's services aren't cheap, but the cost is reasonable considering you are hiring two people with a truck, and someone in the office as well.

I was moving locally with a drop off on the way to my new home but all within a 3 mile radius. The lad who came out initially to give the quote and the man I dealt with mainly at the office (Matthew?), were very helpful and pleasant as were the 3 lads who actually came to do the move. I'd paid extra for a couple of items to be dismantled and put back together at my new home and they did this quickly and without any fuss which was great.
The reason for not giving 5 stars was on the whole because of the Manager. I was moving in with my partner and we actually ended up moving quite a lot of stuff ourselves, leaving basically only the big items. I called the office to ask Matthew if the movers could bring in the wardrobe and put that together 1st and got the manager instead. I explained that we'd moved a lot of things ourselves, which was met with a comment on the lines of 'you're making it difficult for us, stuff will be in the way' then I asked if they'd be able to put the wardrobe up 1st as this would be helpful, to which I got 'I've been doing this job for 36 years......'. Let's just say I didn't take to him.
And nothing was in the way when their guys came in, we made sure of that and would have done irrespective of his comments. Shame really because I would have used them again otherwise.

Lads moved me from Rugby to Billingham with no fuss. They were efficient, friendly and respectful. The price was very reasonable. I would recommend Mr Shifter 100%

Our House move was with Mr Shifter . From start to finish they were professional , very careful with the loading and unloading of our items at our new property . We couldn't recommend them enough , took the stress out of moving . Thumbs up to the Mr Shifter team .

Brilliant service , very efficient and prompt . Pre packing carried out the day before - day of actual removal to storage the men arrived with the container truck .Prompt , polite and efficient the whole house and contents got packed into four containers and taken into storage . The whole thing completed before 2.00 pm in the afternoon
