My Son received a $50.00 Gift Certificate for Christmas. I went to the site and it stated that they are closing there business. No Information provided for any assistance and there phone # is disconnected. I'm Sure THEY KNEW at Christmas time that they were going out of business, it doesn't just happen over night. If they had any kind of honesty they would accept the G.C. that they had no problem accepting peoples money. I'm sure there entire inventory hasn't sold.
Sincerely,
Melissa
My 8 year old son really enjoyed the Museum Tour catalogue and perused in search of the his Christmas wishes. The catalogue was misleading in identifying "free two day shipping" as a promo, because the base shipping fee of $20 was still charged. In addition, the package did not arrive on the promised day, due to a three day delay in it actually being sent from Museum Tours warehouse.
I ordered two items. When the package arrived the first skateboaring toy item turned out to be a group of multiple toys; two of which came with the packages completely torn open (noting remained connected on the pakcaging) and the pieces of the toys scattered all over the delivery box with many missing. The second item, claimed on the website to be robotic yet only after it arrived and was attempted to be played with was it apparent that it required an additional piece to make it motorized. This was not clear in the item description or on the website and the customer service rep was not even aware.
When I spoke to the rep they offered me a $3 (followed by a $7) credit on the $20 shipping fee and recommened that I return the skateboaring toy and exchange it for the necessary motor for the suppossed robotic item....what?!!??!? Essentially, purchase another item from them. There were a million good customer service solutions and they didnt offer any. I will make a full return (at least, as full as I can considering that I never recieved a complete skating boarding toy) and asked for a full refund. They are not good Christmas Elves and I regret my decision to purchase from them.
All I ask is that items fit their description, come in new, unopened packages with all of the pieces, and be shipped timely in order to arrive on time.
Museum Tour carries a huge line of wonderful, educational toys, games, books and crafts of the kinds frequently found in museum gift shops. We have been very pleased with all the items we have purchased from Museum Tour for our 7 year old son and our granddaughter. They have a lot of neat stuff, especially scientific toys, that I have not found anywhere else. Everything we have gotten from them has been properly packed, received when promised and worked as described. I honestly can't speak to their level of customer service because we've never had a need to contact them with a problem or a complaint.
