DON'T VOLUNTEER at Myatt's Fields Park
Volunteering at Myatt's Fields Park greenhouse is not recommended. If you have physical and/or mental health issues, they discriminate.
They had a lot of hazardous health and safety issues which was raised by volunteer. They quickly put change in place. Issues of discrimination has also been raised, and then they worked to get rid of the volunteer.
If you work as paid staff there, you will be fine and get away with a lot of things UNTIL a volunteer raises these issues in WRITING.
Volunteers were not inducted or given policies, and then they tried to use their policies against volunteer, constantly going against their own policy and changing direction many times. NOW volunteers have been "mass" inducted. Health and safety issues fixed, but volunteer who raised issues pays the price, they want to get rid.
Volunteers who have mobility issues are told to rush, be on time for trips etc. Volunteers with mental health issues are told if they have issues they should join certain events etc.
New higher up management who came from HR work fired away questions to throw volunteer off the course.
It's a very beautiful park, but a toxic place in terms of volunteering.
If you have mental and/or physical health issues, they have all the paper work in place regarding discrimination, BUT they don't have the action and are now quickly trying to catch up and fix issues while still discriminating against volunteer.
Beautiful park, staff members are safe, but stay away from volunteering there.
