Absolutely never again

Absolutely never again.
A studio locked their doors too early, I was there even before the time they said they would lock out people. Still I was charged for the failings of the studio.
The customer service does not care, and charged me, even though the studio didn’t stick to the rules.
Extremely disappointing and I cancelled my membership due to this.

Extremely disappointing experience

Extremely disappointing experience with myClubs. As a brand-new customer, I expected at least a minimum level of flexibility and goodwill. Instead, they rigidly stick to their rules, even when the membership is already paid, and show zero understanding for individual situations.

This kind of customer service makes it very clear that new customers are not valued. I would much rather pay directly at individual studios or gyms and switch month-to-month than deal with myClubs again.

Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend them at all.

Only ONE day per month to cancel your membership!

There is only ONE day per month when you are allowed to cancel your membership. Otherwise you’re stuck with it for another month, no possibility of keeping the points you didn’t use that month for the next one. Studios that will double book/overbook and will cancel your booking when you show up to the class, wasting your time. Don’t fall for this scam.

We want to ensure that all members have accurate information, as some statements in your feedback contain details that are misleading or incorrect regarding our membership terms. Therefore we'd like to clarify some of the things pointed out.

First, it is not true, that you can cancel on only one day per month. Our cancellation period is 7 days prior the end of your membership month, giving you the flexibilty to cancel monthly on any day of the month, except for the final seven days of your current billing cycle.

Second, the myClubs FLEX 4 sports membership is a monthly subscription. Each month, you have four sports credits available that you can use however you like. You are free to spread your workouts out over the month or use all your credits on one day. Your four available sports credits are valid for one month. With your new booking period, any unused credits from the previous month expire and you have new credits available again. We hope you understand that this is a subscription model and therefore no exceptions can be made, such as extending the validity of credits.

At last, we understand that booking issues can be frustrating. Please remember that if you ever experience trouble with one of our sports providers, you have always had the opportunity to reach out to us or the sports provider directly to settle any situation regarding your bookings. We think it's unfortunate if we didn't get the chance to help you clear up a booking issue at the moment it occurred.

Rip off company

I have had a terrible experience with MyClubs and their customer service and would like to warn others before using it. I have been a loyal user and they charged me a no-show fee even though I have shared the proof from the gym provider that I have attended the class. So in case there is an issue with the QR code on site, you don't have connection or your phone is dead - be sure that MyClubs does not care and they will charge you every extra penny they can. Really disappointing customer treatment and 0 support (wouldnt call it "customer support" at all)...

We are sorry to read that you've had an unfortunate experience with myClubs.

As you mentioned, a fully functional smartphone is required to use your membership. This is required both for booking workouts and for proper check-in on site.

On-site check-in is necessary to confirm your attendance. This must be done via the app and cannot be done by the trainer. If no check-in is carried out, the system will recognise an incomplete check-in and with myClubs UNLIMITED 9.75 EUR will be charged.

However, check-in is still possible between 30 minutes before the start and 30 minutes after the end of the class. If you run out of battery on your smartphone, you can charge the battery during the workout and check in as usual after the class.

We ask for your understanding that we can only accept a check-in via the myClubs app as confirmation of participation and are therefore doing everything we can to ensure that there are no technical problems on our part.

predatory cancellation rules

The service itself is easy to use and the price seems fair. That's why it seemed fair to still give 2 stars.

Customer support and business tactics are unacceptable though.

As other reviews mentioned:
Their 7 days cancellation period is arbitrarily set to billing periods. So even if you pause the service (which is also arbitrarily only possible for up to 3 months) and cancel far in advance, they will force you to pay another month after your pause and only cancel it after that month.

There is no reason for this other than predatory business tactics to squeeze money from cancellations. Statistically this may pay for them.
In my case, I just wanted to pause until fall/winter and then become a customer again. Now they lost me and a couple of friends forever.

Customer service answers look like replies here: "That's our rules, hope that helps, have a great day".

I suggest not using services with such business practices and customer service.

edit after their answer:
i don't quite understand your fixation of the number of reviews people leave. I have left one review on the relevant pages, so people know what to expect of your servive. here, google and google play. If I'd be on iOS, i'd have left one on the app store.

as for the rest of your answer: nothing to be cleared up. I already described your cancellation in my review, you just repeated it. It's arbitrary and predatory. Zero reason to have the 7days not counted during a pause besides "that's what we wrote in our rules".

Another edit to clarify what they mean:
1) Say you have myclubs until end of the month and it's one day before the end of the month.
2) You couldn't cancel the next month now as it
3) A day before the end of the month you pause until a month later
4) Now you could technically cancel as it's not 7days until your next payment

That's what they mean by "circumventing".

My issue is between the lines:
- Where is the reason for the 7 days, when pauses are available? What process or calculation needs a 7day window?
- Why is customer service so restrictive, that they cannot help with individual solutions like in many other cases of other reviews.

Again: The app and the sports venues are good. The customer service just feels absolutely useless. They give their best to explain your situation, but have zero inclination to find common ground or do something about it, as they are completely bound by the arbitrary company rules.

I do however upgrade to 3 stars, as they at least try to explain the situation. I would still not call it a good business and would rather give 2.5 stars for the middle ground.

However, we find it is a pity that you are not satisfied with our policies. On one side, yes, for our monthly memberships there is a cancellation period. This period is seven days before the end of your membership month - this means you have the opportunity to cancel your subscription every month. If you miss this period or pause your membership, your next possible cancellation date will be noted for the following month. Meaning, if your membership is currently paused there is still one month to take into account - as pausing can't replace the cancellation period. For explanation: You can pause your membership anytime - in disregard of your membership date. This means also that you can pause your membership one day before the end of your booking month. However, if a cancellation is wanted in this case, the cancellation period of seven days needs to be considered and therefore the membership needs to start once again and will then be cancelled. We hope this clears things up a bit.


In any case, we think it is unfortunate that you've made this experience. And while we can understand your frustration, we find that it is a pity that you've already left your third review on this topic. If you have any other thoughts, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly via chat.

Shady practises with subscription

I recommended this service to my girlfriend, this was a bad idea. To cancel the membership you have to write to support, and then they decline because you had to do it 7 days prior the end. They don’t mention that when you are subscribing of course. The support service is terrible. After that they start to threaten you with debt services, even if you haven’t used any of their services for that month. I will try my best to share this story, so people are aware. Never in my life I had such experience

When signing up for a monthly myClubs membership, users agree to our Terms and Conditions, including monthly billing and a 7-day cancellation notice before the end of each billing month. This is clearly stated before purchase and confirmed again via email, which also explains how to cancel easily via the in-app chat.

Cancellations are processed for the next possible date. If the deadline has passed, the membership ends at the next available opportunity - this also means that only one additional membership fee is due before the membership ends. Our goal is to offer flexible monthly memberships, and the short notice period is needed for technical and administrative reasons.

We noticed you’ve left two reviews on this topic and hope this clears things up and improves your experience with us.

Stay away from them!

Their customer service or whatever those 3 " ladies " are ( owners, employess..all 3 of them) are so rude, so arrogant but they whine if you reply upset after the terrible treatment they offer. I was sick and paid them a month for nothing as they did not want to accept my sickness leave and nothing, some venues did not reply and lost all my credits but hey according to myclubs all good...ofc we give them money for nothing and they even have the nerve to play the victim and require better tone ahhaha. They ALLOW THEMSELVES to do your schedule, decide the time you have, everything..I mean when you do not really work ans just take money from clients and venues( which I heard they also treat very bad), easy to behave liike this. Never again!reply to your pathetic answer:No, you did not provide any solution and when a customer service agents makes my schedule and decides how much time I have or not, there won't be any nice tone . Also at the time nobody from you 3 genious did not tell me is possible to pause so give me a break because all people I know and dealed with you had same issues. So do your job instead of whinning and let people figure out what is a lot of time. You know people work, not sit and plan others time. And whatever you reply, people know who you are therefore so bad reviews. Everyone complains about your " customer service " so don't embarass yourself more. Or are we all crazy? Untrustworthy, disappointing customer service

I thought myclubs was great, until I had a problem, which revealed a terrible customer support on their side. The subscription in the month of February is shorter (28 days), which I was not initially aware of, but fine. However, I was given a 28 day subscription cycle TWICE. 31 Jan - Feb 27, Feb 28- Mar 27. This surely must have been a mistake, right? Not according to myclubs customer support. I exchanged multiple messages with them, tried to explain the problem again and again as they were clearly not getting it, juding based on the generic messages they kept replying with. But turns out they were just ignoring the problem all along, repeatedly telling me they have no influence over the length of the months. They even told me that obviously I am getting my full salary for February despite the month being shorter! The audacity! It's sad that this company has such disappointing customer service, I will not be continuing to use their services despite of how happy I was with it before, simply because I don't believe I can trust them, should anything else arise in the future. Huge disappointment, not a trustworthy company.

Horrible customer support

I would love to like MyClubs, and also to have the opportunity to have used it more, because the concept is great and the selection of sport providers is also really good. However, God forbid that there is some kind of mistake in your booking because you will not get any assistance whatsoever.
I started with the Flex4 as a trial, which I really enjoyed and eventually decided to continue using the Unlimited version of MyClubs on the long run. I’ve quit my gym membership for this purpose with the intention of buying the Unlimited membership from the beginning of March. For some reason I had the impression that I cancelled the Flex 4 or that I will be able to make this change in the app. On the 28th of February, so before even entering March, I was automatically charged for Flex 4. I have contacted them to inform them that I want to go Unlimited (which is a more expensive contract and more beneficial for them anyways), and I was assisted by a very arrogant lady called Jana who offered to “help” me by changing the contract after I use the first 4 classes from Flex 4. After I’ve asked questions of how will this change be implemented, I discovered that instead of changing the contract for me from Flex4 to Unlimited as I requested (that is, from 55€ to 109€, with me paying the difference), she was rather trying to upsell me, by using these 4 classes and then making me pay a whole new contract for the Unlimited version (that is the amount of 109€ on top of the 55€) for the month of March. I explained to her several times what I need, and asked to also speak with a manager, request that she ultimately ignored. In any case, veeeeery dissapointing both the way they handle their customers, and the way they are so decided into not helping you. If these are their policies, way too rigid in the eventuality of a problem. I literally asked from them to charge me more, for a bigger contract that I would have used for months ahead, but no. Cancellations also seem to be a very complicated process.

To ensure that we can clearly understand this, we have checked with our Customer Support team. It seems like that we've tried to accommodate you in any way possible.

To clarify this situation: You've purchased the FLEX 4 membership in January. At the end of your membership month in February, you wanted to switch memberships and/or cancel your subscription. However, neither the change of tariff nor the cancellation was noted in the app and we cannot see any record of trying this. Your membership continued as planned and a new month of FLEX 4 started. After that you contacted support to explain and change membership or cancel. The change of membership was offered to you after your current membership month, so by the end of February - or as an accommodation directly after using all of your four sports credits, especially as an upgrade in that sense is not and was never possible. Additionally, a cancellation at that point was only possible in consideration of the seven days notice period, which had already passed and was only available for the end of the upcoming month.

As you can see there was unfortunately no other option to offer than this, as exceptions would not comply to our policy. Therefore we hope for your understanding.

Highly recommend this app

Highly recommend this app! This is the best sport idea ever! You can have sooo many classes from dances to yoga or power lifting. App is really nice: you can create own list of studios you like and search for classes only there. I like it so much that I already brought 7 new customers to myClubs and they are fans as well :) thank you for such a cool opportunity to keep fit!

The sports services are great and the…

The sports services are great and the selection of available studios and classes gets better every year. However, the customer service is just very poor. It simply doesn’t exist, which is a huge hole in the reputation of MyClubs whose main business are customers. The 10€ no show fees are non negotiable even if proof is there that the either did not work properly at the time of the check in or you simply forgot. I had terrible experiences with the customer service bots / teams (hard to tell the difference as you get the same standard non personal reply to whatever request you make)

We would like to emphasise that our Customer Service always deals with every incoming enquiry as quickly and carefully as possible. Therefore, we think it is a pity that you see this that way.

With the no-show fee, we want to prevent reserved places from remaining unused and other users from not getting a place. By checking in on site, your presence can be checked quickly and easily. This is a mandatory process, that can't be skipped or done retrospectively. If the check-in is not carried out successfully - regardless of the reason why this happened-, a no-show will be recorded and myClubs UNLIMITED members will be charged a fee of EUR 9.75.

We ask for your understanding that we can only accept a check-in via the myClubs app as confirmation of participation and therefore do everything we can to ensure that there are no technical problems on our part.

Great selection, unfair policies and service

It’s true that there are a great selection of studios and activities and its still the best offer in Vienna BUT they have unfair policies and horrible customer service. They are even incentivizing others with a sweepstake entry if they rate them a positive review which isn’t right at all.

Im now almost 2 years on myclubs. This changed my life (I’m not exaggerating). I go to sports now every other day - when I had a regular gym membership never. Also customer support is superior - they always help me out - very fast responding!

Love this app

I‘ve been using myClub for a couple of months now and i love it! I like the variety of classes i can choose from and i never get bored of them. For me, this is the main disadvantage of regular fitness clubs. But myClubs solves this problem. Using the app is very easy, I never had any problems with it. Support works great and quite fast :)
