Subject: FORMAL NOTICE – Unlawful Processing of Personal Data & Request for Erasure Under UK GDPR Dear Data Protection Officer
Data Protection Officer Saga City Solutions
I am writing to issue a formal notice regarding the unlawful processing of my personal data by Saga City Solutions and any associated entities, including My Data Choices. On (insert todays date) I received unsolicited marketing communications from your organisation to my postal address. You instructed me to provide personal information through the “My Data Choices” website to remove my details from future marketing. I have since discovered substantial public reports and customer complaints indicating that this service is used not to remove data, but to **collect, retain, and potentially distribute personal information for marketing purposes.
I hereby assert my rights under: -
Article 6 UK GDPR – Lawfulness of processing
Article 7 UK GDPR – Conditions for consent
Article 12–17 UK GDPR – Right to information, access, and erasure (“right to be forgotten”) The Data Protection Act 2018,
THIS IS A FORMAL DEMAND THAT YOU MUST:
1. Immediately erase all personal data you hold about me, including any data obtained through My Data Choices or related services.
2.Cease all processing, storage, and sharing of my personal data**, effective immediately.
3. Provide written confirmation within 30 days that: - My data has been fully erased, - You have ceased processing, and - My data has not been and will not be shared, sold, or transferred to third parties. Potential GDPR Breaches - Your actions may constitute several GDPR breaches, including but not limited to:
Unlawful acquisition of personal data (Articles 5 & 6) - Failure to obtain valid, informed consent (Article 7)
Misleading data processing practices. Failure to provide a clear and lawful opt out mechanism.
If you fail to comply with this request, I will have no option but to report your organisation to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) for investigation into your data handling practices. The ICO is authorised to issue significant fines for GDPR violations, including up to £17.5 million or 4% of annual global turnover, whichever is higher.
Final Notice
You are legally required to respond to this request within one calendar month. Failure to act will prompt immediate escalation to the ICO along with evidence of your organisation's misleading data practices. I expect written confirmation of compliance no later than - insert date 30 days from the date of issue
Yours faithfully,
DONT RESPOND
DONT RESPOND. DONT CONFIRM YOUR ADDRESS OR EMAIL ARE ACTIVE. DONT RESPOND. THROW IT AWAY. IGNORE. IGNORE. OR YOUR DATA WILL BE SOLD ON TO MILLIONS OF COMPANIES WORLDWIDE.
Horrible
They took my personal data from somewhere and sent me a letter. Scammers.
Absolutely outrageous
Absolutely outrageous, sold my personnel information to insurances companies. Not sure how they got it but knowing whats running this country, im pretty sure its these wronguns behind it. Vile creatures!
junk mail from reclaimnow re car…
junk mail from reclaimnow re car finance to my home address. "option" to opt out at several email addresses, including mydatachoices, (obviously not my data choices but they don't care!), but that will only confirm my email address to these unwanted contacts?!!
the higher score than 1 appears to be because trustpilot say they add 7 x neutral scores for evenness!
Making money by selling my (and your)…
Making money by selling my (and your) personal data to marketing companies such that they can then send unsolicited junk mail, unsolicited telephone calls, sms messages etc,
They make it difficult to stop the deluge of junk,They seem (by repute) to hold inaccurate data, They offer no option to have data deleted (just "supressed" ).
Just vile.
Uses a different definition of Ultimate Data Accuracy to everyone else
Interesting that a company that promises 'ultimate data accuracy' is selling mailing lists with dead people on them. I don't mean recently dead, I mean people, like my Dad, who has been dead for 11 years. I can't believe it is an isolated incident and suggests that Sagacity does not validate or clean data effectively.
The Sagacity customer in questions is an organisation which holds an NHS contract and uses NHS branding on their communications. It does not reflect well, given the one organisation you'd expect to know if someone was alive or dead is the NHS. Whatever they have paid Sagacity for the mailing list is a complete waste of taxpayers' money.
Website Suppression Form Does NOT WORK
Website verification TOTALLY UNFRIENDLY for Elderly Disabled Persons.
Unable to verify so can't complete un-subscription.
No phone number to help.
Ah. So that explains it.
Ah. So that explains why I keep receiving almost 50 invitations a day from Russian ladies wanting to show me their private parts.
Crooks
When the reviews are all 1star how can the overall score be 2. I'm no Einstein but even I know this is wrong . Another example of Sagacity's influence. It's about time all this unsolicited intrusion was stopped. I objected strongly to NHS selling our data to that American company but it appears it went ahead and we have to live with the consequences
Unsolicited letter from some scam…
Unsolicited letter from some scam lottery, yourlottoservice UK, emailed sagashity as they are listed as the company flogging my details.
Usual reply, send even more info, tried on the website to delete my details. too.
I will see if the letters stop.
E.mail address rejected
E.mail address rejected . received letter from Boots offering hearing tests . Contacted Boots via number on letter , they claim not to be able to remove me from data base , they claim they cannot remove details as they are on Sagacity database and they cannot help . Totally useless staff at Boots , will never buy from them as there is no help from the staff and also think sagacity are iffy . They should be investigated ,so be warned , anything to do with Boots ,AVOID them
I have had unsolicited letters from two…
I have had unsolicited letters from two hearing aid companies to make appointments for hearing aids and tests, the only place I have been to for hearing tests and aids is the NHS hospital as I am deaf.So I believe rightly or wrongly my information has been sold by the NHS.
Same as everyone else
Same as everyone else, just useless spam emails to a private email address.
Mydatachoices.co.uk, Sagacity Solutions Ltd Unwanted advertising.
Over the last week or so I've been getting unwanted advertising via this company supplying various businesses with my details.
At no time have I given them permission to use my data in this manner or any other.
It will do no good for those businesses using this as anything that comes through to me that I haven't asked for will be marked as Junk/spam.
To unsubscribe via their website, you have to fill in a Data Suppression Registration, but why should I. I shouldn't have to as I didn't subscribe or give permission in the first place.
I'll be passing this on to-
The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
Another one star
Another one star. I got unsolicited mail to 'The Occupier'. When I asked where they got my address from they pointed to mydatachoices.co.uk or Sagacity (URL doesn't match company name on website).
It's extremely difficult to opt out of marketing when each company has an either opt in or opt out checkbox. Legally they must have an opt in checkbox, but no company takes the law seriously.
I have a suspicion that the ones complaining on TrustPilot are just the tip of the iceberg. There will be many others who just throw the unwanted post in the bin. This company should be held to account as they are selling on data to companies without our permission.
I have emailed them at info @ mydatachoices.co.uk with an FOI request demanding to know where they got my address from, how they obtain permission to use my address and which companies they have provided my address to. If we all did that they might just stop. If they fail to respond to an FOI request then it escalates to a complaint to the ICO.
Needs to be an opt in situation
Needs to be an opt in situation not an opt out.
3 other reviews at this stage ...all 1 star reviews...Trustpilot work this out to be 2.8 star rating!
Not too sure how the math works here so I hope this review will go some way to help.
Unsolicited postal marketing
Received postal marketing for a name not resident at this address. Don't know why or how they've created this marketing profile but now they are sending me spam. I've followed their instructions to suppress future marketing but I don't hold out much hope.
Data Thieves?
Data Thieves?
I don’t know where this company got my details. I have always opted out of the electoral roll but they happily sold my details to a company called U.K. phone book who told me where they got my details.
People opt out for a variety of reasons and mine is safety and privacy! You have absolutely no right to publish my information!!!!!!! None!
