What a Rotten joke this site is

What a Rotten joke this site is! After being given an activation code and told to register for free forc24 months due to a Cyber Breech on TransUnion involving my Data, after putting in the CODE and Filling out EVERYTHING it told me THEY COULD NOT ACCESS ME. ARE YOU JOKING??? This is sick. I just put a credit freeze on all 3 consumer agencies EQUIFAX EXPERIAN AND TRANSUNION then put a FRAUD ALERT in all Agencies so they are aware my SSN AND DOB have been compromised. My True Identity is a Rotten ridicules joke. It is already stressful to be frauded. But then to offer help then be denied it just ridicules.

Bad website; terrible service.

Offered 24 mo of free credit monitoring due to data breach. Bad website, terrible customer service. After a few hours, 4 calls to customer service, still unable to register and set up account. Unable to log on. Was told by service rep that their site is working fine, it's just that due to customer volume, most customers are unable to log on. So, that's their definition of "working" I guess.

Thanks

Thanks, I now know it isn't just me. It would never accept my choices for a password. Lousy product!

Worst of the worst

This service is a joke. They did the absolute minimum to address a major data breach and made it all but impossible to sign up for the mytrueidentity service. I called the number listed when they didn't have "enough information" to enroll me online. That number had a message to call another number. After an hour hold, the rep told me to call the first number again. This is the worst company I've ever tried to use.

Another TU breach victim here

Another TU breach victim here. Website account activation process is poor, which was the first red flag. I then came here to see what the rating was and see that there is no need to pursue monitoring with this company. They would likely manage my personal information as poorly as they manage their website.

Boo!

Three attempts to register with customer service on the phone and nothing but frustration as their software keeps failing. No wonder TransUnion was hacked!

Same as all the other reviews

Same as all the other reviews. Got a letter saying a breach occured and offered 2 years free credit monitoring. Tried to enroll and site would not accept any of my password attempts. Do not trust this, probably some sort of scam.

Not a scam. Just bad

Not a scam, I do not believe. Simply a terribly run service with the typical off shored customer (non) support.

Was offered 2 free years by TU because of a breach. Tried too set up account to no avail.

There are many other of these services. Chose another. This one is an exercise in frustration.

WORST SITE POSSIBLE

WORST SITE POSSIBLE! I got a letter and an activation code for free monitoring and it doesn't work on my phone, my laptop, nor a desk computer. The site has nothing but glitches and is totally useless. I have a credit rating of 828 so keeping it secure is important to me. This is a joke. Wish I could give it ZERO stars

What a dismal failure!

Was giving an activation for 2-years of free monitoring due to the TransUnion data breach. The website formatting is terrible, with awkward text boxes for inputs. After finally making it through the first 2 pages, the third page contained an error message saying to try again in a few minutes or to call. Waited a day and tried again with the same result. Called customer service. The site is apparently down and has been for a couple of days. Not a great situation for an identity monitoring service! The rep stated that it should be back up later today, but of course, it's not. TransUnion needs to hire more IT experts to: a) strengthen their security so they don't need to give out free monitoring, and: b) fix their websites in a more timely fashion.

Frustrating …

After reading these reviews I realize I’m not the only person who has issues with My True Identity. In fact had the same problem as reviewer named Cathrine Ross… identical issue. Customer service was unable to help. Taking my business elsewhere.

Difficult to work with

I went to the website provided after my info was involved in a security breach. I could not get into the site even using the code they sent. Finally called the customer service number. Talked to 2 people who did not speak good English. Was told to try to access the site on my phone and or using a different web browser. None of this worked. I think God was protecting me! I finally went directly to Experian and put fraud alerts on.

I wasted an hour on the phone. Though told I should try again later…I will not!!!!

Awful

Awful. The website is terrible in that even though I am verified by receiving a code to authenticate my account, the next time I log in, I get a msg my account has been suspended. So, I have to call customer service which is horrendous as they dont speak English fluently and keep on repeating everything. OMG, how are you supposed to trust this service?

How do we know they are trustworthy

I got a free two year from a company that was breached via email from 'airline' with a code and a link to TI. Went to TI website as instructed and it would not accept my birthdate, my email (only 8 char allowed?), my country or city. OK, so I'm thinking this is a bogus site. I look at the email domain... only partially legit so I start wondering if I got a clever scam email warning or ...? Made me glad I didn't proved any info. Saw below they wanted my SSN/SIN

Very traumatizing

I was offered this service after a data breach with a previous employer. The month I signed up my credit score dropped drastically. I called to ask why and was given a very traumatic experience of rudeness and run around including being hung up on. If they are supposed to be concerned about their customers should they not offer professional, courteous customer service?
It is obvious the people who are employed are scripted and do not speak English properly, and do not understand how their company works. I felt that talking to some of the characters that because I was a woman I was marginalized. Very traumatizing. DO NOT recommend

Awful experience

Received an activation code for a free year of monitoring due to a local data breach. Filled out name and email for log in. Could not create a password. Would not let me type in anything at all. I tried it from three different browsers. Tried from iPhone, iPad and laptop. Would not let me create a password. Called customer service and was given a new activation code. Still wouldn’t let me create a password. Could not type anything in the password bracket. On the call for 30 minutes with a guy who could not speak English and was clueless. Even asked me what phone number I used to call him. What?? He finally said I should speak to a supervisor and tried to transfer and I waited for 15 minutes of dead air and it disconnected. I am done with this idiocy.

What an absolutely mess of a service.

What an absolutely mess of a service.
1. Employer offer two years credit monitoring via myTrueIdentity. Tried and failed to create an account "Unable to verify identity". Had to call in. Prepare to be on hold for a long time. Be prepared to be assisted by someone with english as a third language. Be then prepared to answer questions about you financial history from decades past (ie address of the financial institute of your student loan). Was unable to enroll due to an address error with a financial institution, so once that was corrected, I was able to creat and access my account.
2. Two months later, try to login. Login successful, but apparently I am no longer an active subscriber. Repeat step one and call in. Why? Not sure ... will forward to account services. Account services connects after 15 minutes, only to suggest going back to customer service to reset password. (Not a password issue, and they passed me to account services). Account services provide a toll free number, which when dialled had been changed, and for $3.95 I can be connected to the new number.
3 Call back again. Get a different person for which I struggle to understand. Losing my cool now after being asked dozens of questions (only because I didn't want to release my SIN). 20 questions later (many of which I had to access my online banking to answer questions referring to past transactions) only to be told there is incorrect address information from one of my financial institutions (same error as the original which I had corrected). They are unable to verify my identity, so "no account for you"! They give me a website for transunion.ca to enroll into. This will be the portal to correct my address information (guess not good enough to change with the financial institute that had the original error). Of course, that site's Identity Verification System is "temporarily" down, so unable to create an account there. Customer service by phone has no idea why it's down, or for how long, and suggests I call the next day. (this is not a bad transunion review, transview is in no way associated with myTrueIdentity)

Not sure why my successfully created and accessible account just suddenly disappeared with an error of not having an active subscription. Not sure how my identity had been successfully verified online to create the account initially, and then my identity being questioned after the fact again. Especially having to verify my identity on more than one occassion over the phone with dozens of questions answered.
Seems sus ... they sure do gather a lot of info to access a service they don't easily want to provide.
Don't pay for it!

Extremely Disappointed with Service and Access Issues

I received two years of free identity monitoring with True Identity. While the first year went smoothly, the second year was a different story. After they updated their dashboard, I could not log in for three months. During this time, I had locked my credit to protect myself, but since I couldn’t access the dashboard, I was also unable to unlock it when needed. Despite repeated assurances that they were working on the issue, my account was eventually closed without my request. When I contacted customer service, they claimed my two-year period had ended; however, I still had seven months remaining.

This experience was incredibly frustrating. Reliable access is essential for identity monitoring, especially during emergencies, and True Identity failed to provide that. I would not recommend this service, even if it’s free.
