They BREACH your DATA via GOSSIP

As the title says, they breach your data via gossip and slander.

I attended a NAS run course designed at helping parents of autistic children gain insight into their needs. Upon completion of the course I had a call from social services. My child’s preschool teacher had called them against me claiming “I was giving different information between NAS and the preschool about my child’s school funding”. As ridiculous as it sounds, it was serious. They had called the social services on me not for neglect, not for mistreatment, not for abuse.... but because APPARENTLY “I was complaining about my sons preschool“. The frivolous claims made by my sons preschool teacher were based on gossip she had INCORRECTLY received from someone who works in the National Autistic Society.

I contacted NAS data team, and forwarded him the social workers referral notes which clearly said someone from NAS has reported to my child’s teacher without my consent or knowledge and after months Of “chasing it up” Dan got back to me to tell me “there’s no evidence someone from NAS breached your data”. TOTAL BULL! it’s there in black and white aside from having the social services on my back for stupid false claims.

I would advise you to NEVER attend anything run by these people. They do not respect your privacy and clearly gossip about people and spread LIES about you to your children’s teachers.

I’ve cancelled my donations and my son is left to suffer without additional support because I will never attend anything run by NAS again.

ABYSMAL COMPANY.

AVOID!!

This Organisation doesn't support…

This Organisation doesn't support individuals with autism unless you have an intellectual disability. The National Autism Society Website contains some harmful and misleading information and in someplace conflicting information about the Disorder. The Organisation does very little to assist adult with autism especially those with above average IQ and are verbal.
National Autism Society website directory need to be completely overhauled as some organisations in their directory are incorrect labelled as support services when in fact they are not.
The website community page and forum is poorly moderated and filled with spam.

Rotten to the core!

Please do yourself a favour and raise money for a different autism charity.
This organisation is a joke. They gave me no help or support with fundraising, no mention on there social media no contact with press as they promised. I risked my life spent 3 weeks away from my pregnant wife and 2 other children. Travelled 12000 miles to raise funds for them, spent thousands of pounds of my own money and raised £2000 for NAS. It took 4 months for an acknowledgement that they had received the funds and I then had to practically beg to be acknowledged on my Fundraising efforts
This organisation is appalling, no structure, no communication, poorly trained staff and a press department that my dog could run better. Please raise money for a worthwhile autism charity, not NAS

NAS Lancashire Service treatment of a Service User

This Service over looked my high functoning and experience and recommended a supported living placement 1-1 living with a female. This was too restrictive and i moved quickly to their Residential home with partial 1-1 support. Due to day services was for lower functioning SU's, It was quicker for me to find a volunteer placement which the CEO wrote in a reference my skills were high. When I was given the opportunity to participate in a tandum skydive via another disability charity NAS refused to support me, I still did it though! My ability to challenge at management level lead to many problems and eventually the deputy manager manipulated another service user not to speak with me which in a short time i reacted badly not knowing why he wasnt talking to me! They used my reaction to eventually end my placement and when i tried to obtain supported living in the area the manager refused to speak to the prospective placement if i attended the meeting!
