We started to use the services of NLG… Maths GCSE Resit
We started to use the services of NLG to support our son's preparation for his upcoming Maths GCSE resit. A good lesson for him 'of working harder the first time!'. As he was super close to the grade he wanted and chose himself to resit. We were assigned to Elena Matveeva, with whom our son established a great connection from the start. When asked about how he feels and level of readiness, and has it helped 'very much so, more confident, better prepared, very helpful and Elena's very good! I have also been in the room pretending not to listen, but was very impressed. Great approach, getting him to work it our or prompting with questions and encouraging. The resit has started! so we completed all our sessions, but are looking to hopefully have Elena for Math A level support. I would highly recommend NLG, and particularly Elena Matveeva, for their professional and effective tutoring.
Great teaching
I joined NLG since August 2025 for my year 2 twins. Alessandra was very good at teaching the 6 years old. She was able to manage and catch their attention which is usually hard. My children benefited from one to one tutor and progressed on their learning. It is a bit pricy but I recommend NLG if you need a one to one tuition from the comfort of your house.
Elizabeth is amazing
Elizabeth is amazing - she has been tutoring my daughter (Year 5) since January. Elizabeth is so calm and patient and makes such an effort to get to know Maggie. Maggie’s confidence in maths has improved no end and she always looks forward to her tutoring sessions with Elizabeth.
Andrew Sandeman Maths tutor
Andrew Sandeman been Tutoring my 15 year old daughter in maths for a few months now, as she prepares for her GCSE exams.
Andrew has been excellent. My daughter finds him approachable, friendly and knowledgeable. He tailors the weekly sessions to my daughters level, and constantly challenges her. If she has an area that needs more attention, then lessons are adapted for that. Maths isnt my daughters favourite subject, but she does enjoy these weekly sessions. Thank you Andrew!
We engaged the services of NLG to…
We engaged the services of NLG to support my son's preparation for his upcoming Maths GCSE resit scheduled over the next few weeks. My son has limited confidence in his maths abilities, which has significantly impacted his performance, as he narrowly missed passing by five marks. We were fortunate to be assigned Andrew Sandeman, with whom my son established a positive rapport from the outset. When asked about his progress and level of readiness, my son responded, “Andrew has explained how to approach the questions clearly, and I now feel much more confident about the resit.” Having observed Andrew’s teaching, I am very impressed. His approach is patient and encouraging, without any condescension, providing exactly the support my son needed. I would strongly recommend NLG, and particularly Andrew Sandeman, for their professional and effective tutoring.
DO NOT TOUCH WITH A BARGE POLE
DO NOT TOUCH WITH A BARGE POLE . AVOID AND FIND BETTER TUTORS ELSEWHERE .
We used to help our daughter in March and April . The tutor constantly changed the start times, then the tutoring days were changed , then cancelled for Eid , then cancelled for a family gathering and holiday . The sessions were sporadic and in the end my daughter had a few 20 min CATCH UP sessions added on to make up for time she had missed out on by cancellations .
6 months later we are hit with an unpaid bill of £88 for the catch up lessons that the tutor owed for cancelling . Ive argued it and now its £66 . Even though its the tutors mistake we are now being threatened with legal action of £66!
My daughter learnt nothing due to sessions always changing or being cancelled
USE ANOTHER TUTORING SITE . AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THR PLAQUE !
To note - NLG apparently passed the non payment onto a Revenue Protection Team. Copies of emails with the tutor were forwarded to them where he aaid we may be charged again. The CATCH UP SESSIONS were 20 mins each on top of a lesson ….. to catch up on lessons he had failed to show up to. Yet after explaining this we were threatened with legal action if we failed to pay so begrudgingly not needing the additional stress we paid the £66.
Use another Tutor company, my daughter gained nothing at all

Lynn Golding
Lynn has been tutoring our son for just over two months, and we’ve been pleased with how things are going.
Our son is usually quite reserved around new people, but Lynn’s calm and friendly approach helped him feel at ease fairly quickly. He enjoys his lessons and is always happy to see her.
We’ve noticed steady progress in his phonics and general English skills, which has been encouraging. Lynn manages to keep the sessions engaging and fun, while still maintaining a clear focus on learning goals. Her style suits our son well and helps him stay motivated.
Since starting with Lynn, he’s become more confident in his abilities and more willing to participate. We feel she’s made a positive impact, and we’re happy to recommend her to others looking for a supportive and effective tutor.

Excellent tutor - Kayleigh Millet
My daughter has been working with 'Kayleigh Millet' from National Learning Group for over two years now, focusing on both English and Maths. She is 8 years old and has grown so much with this support.
From the beginning, Kayleigh has been incredibly patient, always taking the time to make sure she understands each concept before moving on and is very knowledgeable, explaining things in ways that make sense to a young learner. Most importantly, she is kind — she encourages my daughter, builds up her confidence, and turns learning into something positive and fun.
Because of this consistency and care, I’ve noticed real improvements in both her English and Maths. She is more confident in herself, less hesitant when faced with challenging problems, and she’s started to enjoy the subjects more than she ever did.
I would highly recommend Kayleigh to other parents. If you want someone who’s patient, kind, and genuinely invested in your child’s progress, this tutor is an excellent choice.
Lea is a fantastic tutor
Lea is a fantastic tutor! She currently teaches both my daughters (ages 11 and 9) and they absolutely love their lessons with her. She has a wonderful way of making learning fun and engaging, while still keeping the sessions focused and productive. Both girls have grown in confidence and ability since starting with her. It’s such a relief as a parent to know they are not only making progress but actually enjoying the process too. Couldn’t recommend Lea highly enough!
Nazia
Nazia, has developed a good relationship with our son. She is always pleased to see him and pushes him forward with clarity and helpful direction. Sometimes he is tired after school and she is empathetic of his energy and encouraging.
