Terrible Customer Service/Pronunciation Issues

For the most part this app/website works ok. There are some pronunciation issues I've encountered that cannot be fixed (saying a "g" in a word as a "j": reg vs. rej). I'm not giving the app/website a 1 star, I'm giving the customer service 1 star, but they definitely deserve 0 stars. I have reached out multiple times with no response. I'm not sure what I'm paying for if I can't get the reader to pronounce words correctly and no one from "customer service" is available/cares to help.

The best text to voice online, free version I have found ....

I started using another service and it took hours to read and put downloadable MP3. Natural reader done the job under 3 minutes - the voice I chose was PERFECT (there are so many choices). I have used the free version and I will definitely upgrade. Amazing service to reach the best outcome I needed. User friendly to... 20 0ut of 10, seriously. Thank you

Excellent Service & Value for a text to speech app

They were not good on Customer service so being a disabled person it was an inconvenience being without it. But the product itself is my go to for me.I have been with them 6 months now and the voices I use on the pro plan allow me flexibility and an intro to cloning my own voice. Since my complaints they turned around and gave me a direct link to correct the issue. I will say they are only a 4 not a 5 today because the customer service issue a few months ago when I switched to a paid plan it kept saying I was a free user and it wouldn't resolve it so I needed a couple emails to escalate it and get a human to help.

Garbage & Scam

Tried to upload PDF book and the website lags insanely. I had to split 900 page book into 10x PDF separate files and it STILL lagged like crazy. The subscription prices are very unreasonable with a total rip off "minutes" given. Avoid this crap website and keep your money. Not coming back lol, seriously.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I have been using Natural Reader for the last year and a half or so, and I hate the platform but due to my disability, I can't afford to switch to a new TTS software due to money and the time it would take to learn a new platform in the middle of my semester for my Masters. I am currently trying to get them to fix an essential feature and they couldn't care less (expanded in point #2). I am at the end of my rope and so frustrated and don't know what else to do expect post a negative review because they refuse to help me!

Some of my biggest gripes:

1. The annotations are so frustrating if you actually need to export them and use them. I spend hours every week formatting them by removing the extra text that's not the actual annotation, pasting them together to form cohesive sentences and thoughts, adding page numbers since the program puts the pdf doc page number instead of the article page number, even though half the time it can tell the article page number.
2. Their customer support sucks. For example, my web app isn't showing the highlights right now so I can format them like I mentioned in #1. I contacted them and they say they are working on it but no resolution or urgency. Every day they don't fix it I am falling further behind on school because I can't use my notes because they don't make sense as fragments of a concept. Where does one concept begin and one end? I have begged them to help and they DGAF, said it may take weeks, but they are extremely dismissive. It’s like they don’t realize or don’t care about their responsibility to paying customers to make it useable!
3.  The "highlight added" box that pops up after you add a highlight is so janky and unnecessary, and impedes useability because you need to wait the three or so seconds for the box to go away before you can highlight (for some dumb reason). There used to be a tiny tiny X to close the box but they removed that too. The epitome of enshitification, I have no idea why they removed it. So you need to wait for the box to close, sometimes the area you need to highlight is short so you often need to wait and keep going back to get all the required pieces highlighted. It wastes so much time, is unnecessary, and not really realistic for folks with disabilities. I thought this was supposed to increase accessibility??

Other small bonus annoyances off the top of my head

1. The buttons are glitchy and too small, especially for a TTS/accessibility device
2. They should have a filter for numerical citations
3. The page numbers should reflect the actual page numbers in the doc (They already have this technology!)
4. It often pronounces the same word three different ways in one sentence

Not free

You can listen to content being read aloud on the platform for free, but you can't even download any of the audio files or use any of the voices on YouTube videos at all without having a paid subscription, which seems extreme. It's a rip off from other services. A lot of the voices they provide seem to be Microsoft voices and they just make money off them. You can access all the Microsoft voices for free online and you don't need to pay them.

Terrible experience!!! dont use.

Terrible experience. The platform fails to deliver correctly, mispronounces words, rushes speech, and botches 's' sounds. After tons hours of trying to fix my document, it was still useless. Customer service refused a refund. Avoid this service. They dont put customers first.

Serious Issue with Character Count

Serious Issue with Character Count – Poor User Experience

I am extremely disappointed with how this service handles character limits. Despite the 500,000-character daily limit for Plus Voices, I was blocked after only 272,000 characters.

Been using for years

Been using for years. Has a great experience with them. They have fixed many bugs over the course of five years. They always answered my Customer Service emails. They were able to make changes that I had complained about to the whole system. And it only took them less than a year to make these changes. I pay $100 a year for this. It helped me get excellent grades in school. It makes it so that I can read all of my PDS while working out and doing chores. It also helps me read books twice as fast as I would naturally. That way, I can read them twice and really learn them. The only thing I don't like is that they erased my stuff after a year. So make sure it's backed up.

JUST AWFUL

JUST AWFUL! Nothing works and their customer support is a disaster. I payed a plan, managed to convert one file (2,000+ words), and that was pretty much it. The converter stopped working and then the actions menu just disappeared from the screen. It's been 5 days since I first wrote to customer support and didn't get any useful answer. It takes them approx. 24 hours to reply to a message and when they reply they keep asking me to send them a video of the issue. I keep sending the video and they keep saying they didn't get it :)))))) The app is still not working, so I asked for a refund ... two days ago. They finally answered today asking me to confirm that I want a refund :)))) OMG!!! Never seen anything like this!
