Do not use

I have owned a flat in a building managed by Neil Douglas for around 15 years. They manage the building and communal areas (not my tenants directly), and my experience over that time has consistently been disappointing.

Communication is often unclear and difficult to follow. It can be hard to establish exactly what is required, when payments are due, or what specific charges relate to. Queries frequently require chasing and responses lack clarity.

Building maintenance feels reactive rather than proactive. Issues are not addressed in a timely or organised way, which leads to unnecessary delays and avoidable costs. On more than one occasion, damage affecting my property has taken so long to resolve that I have ended up arranging and paying for repairs myself, despite paying ongoing service and management charges that should cover these responsibilities.

Overall, there seems to be little ownership of problems and very limited customer service. Simple matters become drawn out and unnecessarily stressful.

After many years of hoping standards would improve, I cannot recommend them. If you are looking for a clear, responsive, and professional building management company, I would suggest considering alternatives

Professional Service

I own a property managed by Neil Douglas for the past six years, and throughout that time, they’ve consistently provided a professional and reliable service. As a leaseholder, I’ve found their communication to be prompt and courteous — emails are responded to quickly, and any queries I’ve raised have been dealt with efficiently. I’ve had a very positive experience and appreciate the level of care and professionalism they bring to block management.

1 star is a compliment to these Jokers

1 star is a compliment to these Jokers. In 38 years of my life I have never come across a more shambolic disgrace of a company as Neil Douglas Block Management. They Lie to you regularly whilst chasing jobs daily that will never actually get done. If you are lucky enough to actually get anything done it will be wrong or done to a terrible standard. If you are looking to buy a property managed by this disgrace of a company I strongly recommend you avoid at all costs

The only good reviews seem to come from their contractors

I'm really sorry I have to post this, beware of this management company and reviews below (Google reviews not the ones directly below). Notice the 5 star reviews, the reviewer has only posted 1 review, but the others which have posted more have given lower marks, that says it all.
I've been a victim of identity fraud and they've installed security doors using a company called Search Fire & Rescue. They just bullied through this installation which because the letterboxes are now on the inside, my post with sensitive information will be available to see. I've gone paperless with every company I can, but my medical issues mean I have letters coming more often than well people and this contains everything a criminal would need for me to relive my nightmare of the last 10 years, you can't get credit without paying over the odds, mortgages are very difficult and your credit score, well you can kiss goodbye to that. I've told them on many occasions before the doors were chosen and they ignored me. The pictures are of work carried out at Birches Rise, High Wycombe. You are more than welcome to view, terrible. They seem caring but that's a front to get your business. I will gladly supply all communications with this company if it helps you choose your management company. Please look on Google maps and search for Neil Douglas to see photos. It asks you to pick a date to review, they are continually bad

Tenants are a commodity. Nothing else.

I am a tenant who had to endure these people for a number of years now.
Every extension of the tenancy contract is like pulling teeth. At the beginning, they still contacted me with a proposal from the landlord. Now I have to chase them for weeks on end to get some information about the landlord's intentions.
My emails are not being answered for weeks on end, and once an extension has been agreed I have to send three or four chasing mails to get the paperwork from them. And these are people who sport all these fancy letters after their names, which mean they are members of professional bodies.

Even if they are exquisitely polite and very sweet indeed in their communications, they don't miss any opportunity to let you know exactly that you as a tenant are nothing but a commodity to them.

English letting agents in general have quite a bad reputation. Neil Douglas are certainly not doing anything to mitigate this notoriety.

Avoid at all costs.

Avoid using this company at all costs.

I am the owner of an apartment in a block Neil Douglas manage & in September 2016 I had a hidden leak at my property. I rented my property & my tenant was away at the time. Neil Douglas were made aware of the leak by the property below which suffered water damage but they failed to notify myself or my tenant about the leak for 8 days, resulting in over £3000 of damage. No attempt to contact us was made.

When the leak was finally assessed & fixed they accused my tenant & myself of ignoring the problem & poor maintenance. Neither was true or accurate.

Rather than help solve the problem they had a hand in creating they chose to incorrectly point the finger of blame & accuse.

They were rude & showed zero customer service. When I raised the issue with their managing director Neil Kurz, he backed the action of his staff, delivered further terrible customer service & refused to apologise for their error & their lack of customer service.

Neil Douglas showed themselves to be incompetent with no regard for customer service or satisfaction.
