Fabulous hotel, lovely staff - all very helpful. Great cakes and good food every day. Bus stops right outside and access to the boot room round the back of the hotel.

We had great Neilson ski holiday in Les Menuires and although the hotel is fairly basic and old, we found it welcoming and cosy. Our bedroom/bathroom functioned well and was comfortable. The food was good quality, and plentiful, and all the staff at the hotel were very friendly, polite and efficient. The pool is large but has minimal lighting or loungers, the water was also quite cool, so we did not use that area as much as we had anticipated. We did however use the modern spacious sauna every day, which was really nice after a long day skiing, and with a large picture window we had views of some of the slopes and the setting sun. The highlight for us was the skiing and the ski area of Les Menuires itself, and the wider 3 Vallees - which is a revisit for us and definitely the best ski area we have been to. We were also very fortunate to have good weather and lovely snow conditions. The Neilson Mountain Experts based at the hotel were great – very personable, informative, and helpful. My husband went on most of their guided daily trips which he really enjoyed, whilst I had morning refresher lessons with ESF – which were also excellent. The Neilson Mountain Experts organised some fun events at the hotel in the evening, which meant we were able to relax & socialise with many of the people staying at the hotel. Overall, we had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.
The staff really made this hotel. Everything else about it was mediocre. The bar and lounge are far too small and poorly furnished. The dining room is cramped. The food is average. Ski school was typically French and awful for u10s. Kids club was good. After such excellent experiences at Neilson El Tarter in Andorra, we thought, as a spa hotel, Les Menuires would be an upgrade … but it was disappointing. Wish we’d gone back to Andorra. This was topped off by last-minute change to flights from 11am to 7am departure from Gatwick. Resulting in extra cost to sleep at Gatwick the night before departure and pay an extra nights parking with no compensation.
Great staff and atmosphere
Lovely staff managing the property. The room was very small for 3 persons. The spa was very noisy with kids fighting in the pool and parents not taking control. The food and drink was great access to great skiing was fabulous. Ski rental and pass was managed very well. Loved the chalet voot warmers too!
I have stayed at this hotel many times and love the location with ski in ski out possibilities, a bus stop directly outside the hotel and access to a vast ski area with both high and low resorts. The Sunday transfer day is excellent with quiet motorways and a smooth journey up to the hotel. I love the swimming pool and large sauna, with views out to the mountains. On this occasion however, I was disappointed with the number of young families dominating the dining room and lounge which made it difficult to hold a conversation at dinner or sit in the lounge after dinner. Perhaps there could be adult dinner sittings or separate dining areas to avoid this in the future? In addition, there were skis, sledges, buggies left outside family rooms compromising exit routes. (I have the pictures!) While I appreciate this is a wonderful family resort, I did however feel that on this occasion, our holiday was spoilt by too many young families and children and the balance didn’t feel right. 🙁
The staff are what has saved me from scoring a 3 star for this hotel. It is very tired and not planned out very well. We stayed in Val d’Isere with Neilson the year before last and that hotel was beautiful so I was quite shocked at the difference! We will not stay at Le Menuires with Neilson again which is a shame as the skiing area was fantastic. If you are a family and are taking advantage of the childcare then this hotel may be for you so don’t be put off! As I said the staff ( and food) are so good as did Neilson proud. An upgrade is desperately needed as it lets the Nelson reputation down.
The staff are wonderful, however the rooms in the hotel are beginning to look a little tired.
A great location for ski ing. A Free Bus service or a walk up the Hill to the Gondola and village area and intersport shop , Friendly staff, Excellent food. Good facilities , a pool, and a great Sauna. Great for families as well as for just Adults.
This is a really well run hotel with great staff and easy access to the slopes in Les Menuires by bus outside the hotel. The food choices and quality is very good and the communal spaces and the spa area is very well kept and ideal after a day on the slopes. Just a few things would improve the bedrooms...a little more hanging options for all the gear and towels and perhaps the lighting in some areas could be better as the bedrooms are just a little basic but the beds are comfy and the housekeeping is really excellent so just a few functional things keeping it off a five star review!
Good value for money all helpful from start to ending and that’s why we come back
Fantastic hotel with amazing staff and delicious food. Great ski area.
Great location, almost a ski in/ski out! Great Lounge/bar area. Bedrooms felt a little tired…need a bit of tlc
Good location but looking tired and in need of a refresh - especially the bed rooms Dining room is cramped but food is good (bar the roast duck)
Hotel was great, staff superb and ski hosting excellent. Unfortunately the holiday was marred by ridiculous queues for the ski lifts - we won't be coming to the 3 vallees again because of this.
We usually self-cater, but treated ourselves to the luxury of half board and were not disappointed - lovely staff, food & atmosphere. The complimentary ESF-guided skiing sessions were a real bonus.
Fabulous place… rooms require updating but the staff and team are the best
Very nice stay. All staff made this holiday, so helpful and enthusiastic. Bedrooms a bit tired. Food excellent and catered for my gluten free.
A great place to stay with excellent staff. The only negative was no English channels on the TV
Excellent experience
