The whole process from start to finish was first class. The end result is fabulous. Thank you to all involved, who have been very efficient in every aspect and have kept me updated at every stage with the creation of my new staircase.

The stairs and cupboard are great but there is a final piece of remedial work to be done. This has been booked 4 times and they have failed to arrive each time. It seems to be down to me to ring them and ask why they haven't arrived. I wish I hadn't paid them until the work was absolutely complete

We had a glass balustrades and natural oak staircase installed on 21st and 22nd October 2025. Absolutely delighted from start to finish. Superb craftsmanship and an excellent installation by Lee Boswell. So much more natural light through the hall, stairs and landing. Highly recommended

As a family we decided to buy a new house and renovate. We have a generous hallway and I wanted that wow factor on entering the house by installing a new staircase. I decided on Neville Johnson for several reasons, from beginning to completion everyone was very professional, and approachable.
No pushy sales and they delivered just as promised. Communication throughout was excellent and even after sales is perfect. So did I get my Wow factor I most certainly did. Highly crafted materials and finish that sparkles so well done Neville Johnson.

My experience with Neville Johnson was excellent from the initial visit to the installation. The process was supportive with helpful communication at all stages. The fitter was excellent. Very experienced, diligent, skilled and gave attention to detail. He kept me updated throughout the process. I'm delighted with the finish and it's made a huge impact to my hallway. Would highly recommend.

We recently had a staircase fitted by Neville Johnson. Very professional, made to measure, and fitted in a single day. This final result is stunning . The finished staircase has completely transformed our stairs/landing — throughly recommended!

Very poor service and substandard workmanship from Neville Johnson. The shelving and cupboard system installed in my home is badly put together - shelves are uneven, there are visible gaps, and the cupboard handles are misaligned by up to half a centimetre. A basic spirit level shows just how off everything is.

Even worse, their team caused damage to my brand new Quick-Step wooden floor and outdoor balcony decking, despite protective coverings being provided and advised to use. They also left stains and marks on the shelves from drilling - just completely careless.

I raised all of this with the company, but have received no meaningful response other than that they’re sorry this happened - again, careless.
The installation manager simply doesn’t respond to repeated attempts to get in touch and requests as to how this will be solved and compensated for. The lack of accountability is shocking for a company that markets itself as premium.

I would strongly advise others to think twice before hiring Neville Johnson. My experience has been frustrating, costly, and just outright far below expectations.

Our fitter Lee Boswell had a long journey and hit some delays. Once he arrived everything went very smoothly. I would describe Lee as exceptionally efficient, very professional and polite. Having spoken to him about his schedule he certainly covers a lot of miles for NJ so to do all that travel and deliver the quality he did is very impressive.

The whole experience was exemplary from the initial consultation and design to fitting. The people undertaking the work did it to a very high standard and they were not happy with the handrail so refused to fit it as it wasn’t what they would expect to come out of the workshop. Other companies would have just fit it and waited for a complaint. I was visited by a rep from Neville Johnson to inspect the rail and informed what would happen next. They made the stairs safe for my dog for the interim period I was without spindles which was very caring. The new rail was a much improved standard and the fitter exemplary and detail conscious in completing the job. I would wholeheartedly recommend them for any stair project. Your fitters and staff are a credit to you.

The installation did not get off to a good start - and was re-schedule twice, which was a little annoying, but it was oh so worth the wait!

The installation of our staircase was completed within 4 days (although we were initially told it would be completed within 3 days) – but we are very happy with it. Our fitter (Darius) was very polite, respectful of our home, is an absolute perfectionist, a master at his craft and his workmanship is second to none – and it was an absolute pleasure to meet him.

So much so a perfectionist, that he stayed very late in the day. On day 1 he didn’t leave until 8pm, and days 2, 3 and 4 he stayed until about 7.00pm. I get it that this was down to his pure due diligence (and we felt so sorry for him that he was working so late in the day and then had an hours journey to get home). He worked so hard and we commend him on this. When we arrived home at the end of the day, he didn’t want a cup of tea or coffee, or a drink of any kind, he just wanted to crack on. He was so courteous and even asked our permission to use the toilet. You should be very proud of him! The man deserves a medal! 😊

This is my only negative. We were not informed that the installer could be working so late into the evening, and when we came home from work at the end of the day to find that he was still working away until 7/8pm, this totally messed up our evenings across all four days.

That said - it was totally worth all the inconvenience.

Excellent service throughout the process. The sales person was very professional and knowledgeable which helped us to finalise the design. Customer service kept us informed of progress. Installation was excellent, the carpenter was very skilled with a sharp eye for detail

The design and sales side of things were just brilliant and we were convinced we were getting the right product. We knew it was top of the price range but we expected the very highest service, design, install, care and communication and our expectations were set. It all went wrong when we were handed from design to the person surveying. Rude, harassing and very unprofessional. Complaints were raised and we had to have a replacement person. The Sales and Design person saved the sale for NJ. The install had many issues and it took months to sort out. The installer was very poor resulting with half of the Dressing Room being replaced. He was rude and the standard was very low. The installer is outsourced by NJ. The next person who came in from NJ to try and sort it out was poor and left the place in a mess. He told us that we had nothing to worry about and that the mess was standard. More replacements and they paid for a decorator and repairs after holes were left in the ceiling and walls. The doors were still not correct at this stage after two issues in the factory. After 6 months it was finally sorted. We were due to have a family room done but cancelled the whole job. We found a local installer who completed the work in 4 weeks for a quarter of the price. Eventually our Sales and Design person got the right people involved to rectify all the issues. A very disappointing experience from survey to finally being in a position to use the Dressing Room.

The fitter was on time and was an excellent craftsman the work was out standing and he cleaned up when he had finished and took the old stair case away with him
would recommend the company to anyone who wanted a staircase replacing.

We took quite awhile to choose who to work with on our office renovation. Having chosen NJ, we could not be happier.
From the moment Jennifer, the designer, came to our house and designed the room, we knew we had made the right decision. The level of detail and way Jennifer listened to everything we discussed and wanted, and turned it into our final design, we couldn’t be happier. Our excitement grew when it came to the day of the fit and the workmanship, quality and hard graft that Nigel put in to the fit was superb.
Nigel worked like a machine all day and the quality build that we have in our house now fills us with joy.
From start to finish working with NJ, has been hassle free. So happy we decided to use NJ and would definitely use them again.

Everyone involved in this company has been very polite and helpful from the initial phone call to the fitter.
My hall, stairs and landing give the impression of being bigger. It is a lot lighter. We are very happy and friends really like them too. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company. They were very professional in all the different stages of our purchase

Experience started well with design and installation going as planned between February and April 2025.

Unfortunately everything since has made a mockery of that initial experience.

Due to a flaw in a number of treads of the new staircase which only became apparent on finishing remedial works were required.

The experience then became a litany of weeks passing with no contact, constantly rearranged or cancelled appointments. Fitters being sent to the wrong address, the wrong materials being sent such that the remedial works (replacement of approx 6 treads) were only completed on Monday. 5 months after the works were supposedly complete.

Particular attention has to be brought to their scheduling and back of house team, who were abrupt, unhelpful and did not on any occasion ensure that previously provided information was recorded in any manner. The amount of times they referenced the wrong works was laughable. The only thing they did in a timely manner was chase money.

If things go well this company may be fine but as for service if they go wrong, they don't know what the word means.
