Be prepared for constant price increases, without proper warning. They like to make it look like they are the biggest and the baddest, but once you sign up and see the level of service you get, that is not the case. Be prepared for data to just go missing, with no explanation of why.
And they try to give away free VPN and block accounts on other sites, but these services are not useful, just a marketing gimmick.
If you're trying to cancel, brace yourself for a frustrating maze.
The cancellation process is deliberately convoluted, and support is nearly nonexistent—unless, of course, you're looking to upgrade. Then they’re suddenly available. It feels like the main function of their support team is to block cancellations, not to help customers.
Newshosting added VPN services to my account without authorization and when I tried to get them to address this, they basically said no. Lawsuit is now underway.
Do yourselves a favor and find another usenet provider.
The recent price hike took me by surprised, and I definitely did not get a notice in advance. I'm going to try finding another provider this year just to save some money.
It's a great service, but the price hike makes no sense. This isn't a market driven commodity they're just being greedy.
Newshosting recently charged me for VPN service I never signed up for. Then told PayPal they had "delivered" it. I had been happy with the Usenet service over the last several years until then. Is this how they treat their best customers now? All I require is a refund and an apology, but that seems to be impossible for them. Edit: Update - after going back and forth I didn't get an apology but they did refund the extra they had charged.
This latest price increase, and no notice. That rubbish about the email notification about this never happened either. Had an account with them for years too. They will definitely lose customers, probably me too.
I am searching for other providers as well speak.
What happened to you guys, did you really think that this price increase was handled correctly?
I have been using Newshosting since 2015 and this year they have hiked the price without notice, it auto renewed for nearly double.
They claim to have sent 30 days notice prior to increase which is not true. I check my mail (including spam) daily and i even checked my mail server logs.
Now trying to cancel is not as easy process. I have emailed support and their billing team is unresponsive.
This is how you lose customers and recommendations permanently
I have been a long time user of Newshosting and the service itself has always been very good. My main issue is the complex cancellation process. I logged on to my portal for which I need credentials. After clicking through multiple screens trying to get you to stay. (Worth doing by the way if you're an existing customer and want a better deal!) it then says will send an email which i need to acknowledge. No email arrived, checked spam. Did it again still no email. Tried to log a ticket to say I wanted to cancel, takes me in an endless captcha loop and won't let me submit the support ticket. Cancelling a service shouldn't be this hard. It's a shame as I often reinstate services but when companies make it this hard to leave I think again.
Fraudulent behavior
They offer a 30d guarantee cashback on their website. Please know that they will never answer you. Tried to contact them 10 times with no answer. This is a scam.
Updated: I contacted the support on the 7 (x2) march, 10, 14, 26 as requested. Still did not get any answer and cannot even cancel my subscription because the support does not answer.

My go to usenet & vpn provider for years. Unfortunately the last price hike was just pure greed. Although I have bit the bullet and paid for the year's sub, it will definitely be my last time with them as there are other providers with similar offerings and cost considerably less. To Newshosting: do not treat your customers like the golden egg goose. You'll be the one to loose in the end...

After receiving numerous special offer emails, I bought a 1 year subscription. Account never activated, cannot raise a ticket. There are messages about not being able to raise a ticket but nothing that can resolve my issue. No number to call. Just an automated answer when yo send a message to support.
Finally decided to raise a case via paypal hopefully I can avoid being scammed by this company that was quite good once, a long time ago.

This site is seriously difficult to sign up with. IT would never take my credit card info and when I tried several times it finally just stopped submitting. My card worked at a competitor just fine. You guys need to fix your merchant account issues.

Nothing completes with this service. As of the last month, even stuff that is only a day old or maybe even 2-3 weeks old is all incomplete. I had to get an account with another provider just to download stuff a few days old.

They tried to scam me out of my money by increasing my price and billing me without notice! I got rebilled $24 more than I expected and was never told that was going to happen.
EDIT: They have contacted me and asked for my FULL NAME and PHONE NUMBER. NO! This company clearly does not care about privacy!!! AVOID!!!

Be careful with your billing details! They raised my rates by $24 per year without notifying me. Thankfully I had my credit card setup with a limit on that purchase so it declined. Now I see they are offering new customers accounts for less than the $24 they tried to INCREASE my billing.
I just had them setup as my secondary and they almost never got hits, so I am happy to move on.

Newshosting is fundamentally a very good platform, and the idea of consolidating everything on one page is fantastic – that’s a solid 5 stars from me. Especially for beginners, this is an excellent solution. The developers have clearly identified a key user pain point and provided a well-rounded package.
However, the implementation of the download app is severely lacking. The app feels like it’s stuck in the 90s, missing essential basic features that you would expect from modern software. The user interface and overall user experience are extremely poor. It quickly becomes apparent that nothing has been done to improve the user experience for at least a decade.
It seems as though the developers have underestimated the potential of the app or have not fully considered the needs of the users. The lack of updates to the software suggests that innovation and improvement have not been prioritized.
In summary, the core concept of the platform is strong, but the poor execution, particularly the outdated download app, significantly detracts from the overall experience. With an updated and modern app, Newshosting could better leverage its strengths.
