Area Interior Recommended Use Interior wooden frames, doors and structures, metals (ferrous and non ferrous) such as radiators and pipes. Can be applied to cleaned and sanded alkyd paint surfaces. Base Water-Based Coverage Up to 14m2 per litre Drying Time Dependent on temperature and humidity Re-Coat Time 6 Hours Recommended Coats 2 Coats Application Method Brush, Roller, Conventional Spray VOC Levels Medium Clean Up Remove as much paint as possible from the equipment before cleaning with water Preparation For best results, make sure that the surface to be painted is sound, clean and dry and remove any loose or flaking materials before you begin. On previously painted surfaces rub down the surface ideally using the 'wet flatting' method which requires wet & dry sandpaper, used wet. The water acts as a lubricant and helps to reduce tiny particles which can clog the paper and create scratches Always ensure to thoroughly prepare surfaces that have been previously painted with solvent-based paints Bare and new wood any knots should be treated with an appropriate knot blocking solution. Holes or defects should also be filled with an appropriate filler prior to the use of the undercoat as this will create a smooth finish Application Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results Stir thoroughly before use to ensure the paint is completely mixed Use a good quality synthetic (nylon polyester) brush or a short pile synthetic/mohair roller designed for the application of water-based paints or conventional sprayer To get the best results with the Heritage Eggshell, lightly dampen both a synthetic brush and the surface Apply two coats allowing the paint to fully dry between coats Do not apply at temperatures below 8°C Most suitable for HVLP spray application using a minimum 3 stage unit. A typical setting is a 1.8mm spray tip (equivalent #4 fluid set) and a maximum of 20% thinning Note: Always follow the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin. Aftercare & Storage Do not use or store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost. Always store and transport the paint upright and to prevent spillage.
