Overview Owatrol E-B is a penetrating paint additive and bonding primer that enhances the performance of water-based masonry and interior paints. Ideal for use on unstable, chalky, or powdery surfaces, it stabilises porous or crumbling substrates, such as render or brickwork, while eliminating the need for a separate primer. E-B creates a strong bond between the substrate and topcoat, improving paint adhesion and durability without altering the original colour. Base Water-Based Coverage Up to 6m2 per litre Drying Time Added to paint: As per paint manufacturers instructions (normally 4 hours). Used Alone: 24-48 hours. Application Method Brush, Roller or Sprayer Clean Up Remove as much product as possible from the equipment before cleaning with water Preparation Ensure the surface is clean and free from grease, residue, loose debris, or flaking paint. If the surface is dirty, wash with water and detergent, rinse thoroughly, and allow to dry before painting. Any mildew should also be removed. Application NOTE: Use only in the first coat of paint Shake the container well. Always mix a small amount of Owatrol E-B with paint to test compatibility. Mix 1 part Owatrol E-B to 4 parts paint. Stir the paint and the Owatrol E-B mixture thoroughly. If paint thickens add enough water to return paint to its original consistency. Apply paint as usual. Apply any additional coats without Owatrol E-B. Apply additional coats when the Owatrol E-B / paint mixture is dry. Do not apply more paint while the Owatrol E-B / paint mix film feels soft or tacky.
