As a customer who After Years of Loyalty, a Critical Platform Flaw and Disappointing Support Forces Me to Leave.has been with…
As a customer who has been with Hostinger for many years, it's genuinely sad to be writing this review. At our peak, we hosted dozens of websites on this platform. Today, we are down to our final two, and after this experience, we will be migrating them as well. This is the end of a long relationship, and it’s important for other serious users to understand why.
The Core Problem: A Critical Flaw in the Website Builder
The issue lies with Hostinger's Website Builder. On any page that uses a custom HTML embed, the builder automatically forces the entire section to a minimum height of the full screen (min-height: 100vh). While this might look fine on a desktop, on any mobile browser (especially within social media apps like Instagram), it creates a massive, unprofessional-looking blank white space below the footer.
It makes the website look broken. For a business that values its brand image, this is simply unacceptable.
The Frustrating Journey with Customer Support
I understand that no platform is perfect, so I reached out to support, expecting to find a solution. What I received instead was a week-long masterclass in frustration.
Initial Diagnosis: At first, a support agent correctly identified the problem. They confirmed that this was a known platform limitation and that the builder's container was causing the issue, not my code. This was an honest and helpful answer.
The Escalation to Nowhere: When I was passed to a "human" agent, everything went downhill. This new agent completely ignored the previous findings. They repeatedly insisted the problem was my "custom code" and patronizingly suggested I use ChatGPT to fix it.
The Accusation: When I stood my ground and calmly reiterated that their own team had already confirmed it was a platform issue, the agent's response was shocking. Instead of addressing the problem, they accused me of being "rude and inappropriate" simply for being persistent in seeking a solution for a flaw in their product.
The Final Dismissal: After I expressed my final frustration and stated my intention to leave the platform and write a review, the agent's response was a cold, generic template: "If you need anything else, don’t hesitate to contact us."
Final Verdict
After years of loyalty, this experience has been the final straw. It's not just about the bug, it's about the refusal to take ownership of it. The platform has a critical flaw that makes it unsuitable for professional mobile-first websites, and the support team's response was to deflect blame and insult a long-term customer.
There have been no meaningful improvements to fix these kinds of issues for years. If you are a professional or a business looking for a reliable and flexible website builder, I can no longer recommend Hostinger. The platform's limitations and the quality of support have made it clear that it's time to move on. I hope this review helps others avoid the same frustrating end to their project.
