Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people expressed dissatisfaction with the pricing of products and games, finding them excessively expensive compared to other platforms. Customers also frequently reported issues with product quality, noting regular crashes, overheating, and items falling apart shortly after purchase. The customer service was often described as unhelpful and difficult to reach, with many struggling to resolve problems or receive assistance. Additionally, the website was criticized for being difficult to navigate, particularly when trying to reset passwords or manage accounts. However, some customers were satisfied with the quality of certain products, such as amiibos, and appreciated the console's suitability for family-friendly gaming. Whoever this "Laura" is, they're a cheater and should not be employed at Nintendo!

Whoever the member of staff named "Laura" is at Nintendo, who is the Staff Ghost of the Mute City course in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, they're a freaking hacker and cheater. Being able to boost so quickly WITHOUT having to use a single mushroom, it's like as if they are using another source of boost that is impossible to gain or use without using cheats, making the Mute City course impossible to beat in the Time Trials. They need to get fired ASAP, I swear.

Nintendo's greed is out of hand...

Nintendo is one of, if not the most greedy company in existence. Whatever bubble the executives live in must be fantastic if they think they can get away with potentially murdering another game company. Not only do they strike and sue people who make fan games (Free ones too, otherwise it would not be a huge deal), Emulation of games which have no other medium to play on (If they someday release re-optimized versions of these games in the future, this point will change, as they don't even sell the games people emulate anymore, nor the consoles to play them on), and other such things, but they take down free modifications to other games, that not only expose people to their IP and potentially create new customers, but also enhance people's lives. And with their attack on Garry's mod, a game that is already a mod of Half Life 2 (As the name implies) they are making a statement that nothing that is their's is allowed to be shared. I would not be surprised if YouTube videos where people showcase Nintendo's games, which is, again, free advertisement from the youtubers who have to buy these games.

0/10 Bad Company, Bad Legal Team.

P.S. I hope Nintendo comes to their senses and sees what they are doing is toxic not only to their customers but to their own company. People's opinions on Nintendo currently are not high, and they only grow lesser every day.

Worst customer service experience I…

Worst customer service experience I have ever come across - I bought a switch off their website over 2 months ago it was broke only worked for about 5 minutes and then orange screen tried troubleshooting didn’t work - I contact them they said that’s fine we’ll arrange DPD to collect it , to then be told DPD can’t collect it I have to return this my self via An Post so I had to find a library to print a label the go to an post to be told I don’t know why they told you to come here as we can’t accept anything with batteries - I went back to them and apparently they can arrange for DPD to collect - so eventually my order was collected and returned to them in a couple of days, for 4 weeks I have been emailing them asking for my refund and all I am told for 4 weeks is that there is no update yet this has been passed to the relevant department even though I have received and sent them the confirmation from DPD to say it has been delivered back to them 4 weeks ago - they have no contact number I try to use their online chat it does not work I get an error message - I used my partners phone for the chat and this eventually worked they were useless I asked for a manager multiple times they told me I can’t speak to a manager or supervisor they said there is no update we will be in touch when there is an update and there is nothing they can do and tell me they are disconnecting the chat before I can even reply - i emailed and asked how can I make a formal complaint they said reply to the email but that was 2 weeks ago and no one from complaints has contacted me either - I am still waiting my refund, I was not surprised to come here and see 1 star review iv I could give negative stars I would

Buyer Beware

Engages in predatorial practices....Keeps charging my account even though my daughter hasn't had an active account with this company for more than 3 years. I would suggest buying a gift card to pay for anything online with Nintendo, this way you won't have to waste an insurmountable time dealing with customer representatives who don't know how to address the questionable practices of their company. In my case, on 4/14/2024 around 10 a.m. in the morning "Nathan" the supervisor -- who told me, a national news reporter he was going "educate me" -- hung up on me....Real professional Nathan. I will be looking into the unethical practices of this company and how far reaching it is. Caveat emptor.

Total disrespect towards the customer

Dear Nintendo professionals, good afternoon.
I am still unable to use any credit card on my Nintendo account. I have opened accounts in other countries where I have residency and bank accounts with cards issued by those countries, and in none of them am I allowed to make purchases.
I have bank accounts and Nintendo accounts in the USA, Brazil, and Argentina, and in none of them can I use any credit card. I have tried dozens of cards, cancelled and requested new cards from banks, tried single-use or fixed-use virtual cards, tried physical cards, and so far, nothing.
Not only have you not solved the problem, but you also do not provide any explanation. You don't tell me if something might be wrong, you don't tell me if you simply don't allow me to use them because you don't like me, you don't tell me if it's prejudice against me, you don't tell me anything. You don't provide any decent contact channel, you don't care about customers who want to spend money with your company.
Do you realize this? I am trying to spend my money on your company and you won't let me do that. What a complete disregard, it's lamentable. I await any explanation that is minimally plausible.
I can only conclude that Nintendo has some prejudiced reason for preventing me from spending my money on their company, because it is not possible that a world leader in games and technology cannot simply provide a coherent explanation of why they don't allow me to use any credit card.
This is a consumer disregard.
I have provided the console serial number, all the details of the dozens of cards I tried to use, account information, everything, and incredibly these incredible professionals responded to me as follows: "we cannot help you with this issue. We cannot share any more information,"... Can't you even say why you won't let me buy from your company? Is that what you're going to tell me? It must be something prejudiced against me, it can only be.

Dreadful - Dispute the Transaction

As noted below, their customer service is appalling. The worst I’ve ever dealt with. Not only did they not provide the service purchased, the chat service was inaccessible on all my devices; I attempted umpteen times. They refused to respond via any other channel and just resent the same useless instructions. I raised a chargeback with my bank and disputed the transaction and would advise others to do the same vs. wrestling with their broken servicing tools.

The only review you need Nintendo

Nintendo used to be great back in the 80's but these days it's run by a completely new group of people, and was just asking them in email if they could get Monolithsoft to update their game to be all available offline in it's entirety, as their servers are shutting down soon and Xenoblade Chronicles X will no longer be playable to it's fullest, and content online will be disabled for offline play, which means you cannot get everything you want in the game.

I decided to ask Nintendo if it was possible to fix this, and I even contacted Monolithsoft which was only available in Japanese, so used google translator to communicate, they told me to contact Nintendo about it, after contacting Nintendo they said this to me-
"
Hello,

Thanks for writing. We sincerely appreciate how enthusiastic our fans are and welcome your feedback regarding our products and services. However, for a variety of reasons we do not accept or consider unsolicited ideas—no exceptions. Thank you for understanding.

Sincerely,

Nintendo of America Inc."

I will leave a name out, as I'm a good guy don't want to get any customer rep in trouble, but the fact that I'm basically treated as an insignificant creature that whatever Nintendo give us is arbitrary, much like Sony and Microsoft these companies just treat us like crap.

I don't know about you guys, but Nintendo much like all other rich companies, only care about one thing your money, they don't respect you, they take away your digital content, they lack basic human empathy, basically gaming governments who are treated probably the same way by the actual government.

My point is as the consumer we all are, we control them! It's not the other way around, don't ever forget that, if we stop buying into their games and bs, they will have no choice but to start listening to us, the people who are actually feeding them.

If you don't agree with me you work for Nintendo. RIP to the original owners of Nintendo, they made the company great, the next generation are turning it into an evil corporation.

I'm no longer supporting this company, as they will just take things away from you, even after you paid for it, so why would I support this?

Disgusted by the Customer Service.

Disgusted by the Customer Service.
They just copy and paste everything into a common conversation without properly helping their customers.
My son was trying to download a game that was almost £40 as they stopped sending games with SD cards and instead on just a code .
My son’s game downloaded but was not able to find it anywhere and now the code can not be used again.

What annoys me, the most is that the case was not dealt with and Nintendo said that they are closing the case as they had already replied… bering in mind the situation was not sorted.
