Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 108 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently complained about overpriced games and aging consoles, feeling that the business has become overly greedy. Many people also experienced extremely frustrating issues with unhelpful customer support representatives, poor product durability, and poorly functioning online digital stores. Some people were satisfied with the core entertainment value and fun gameplay, despite the very steep costs of official hardware accessories. A few reviewers remain huge loyal fans who love the nostalgic titles and classic hardware, finding genuine joy in using their favorite portable gaming devices.

Great products!

While Nintendo has their faults, I've never had any issues except stick drift. I genuinely have no idea what people mean by broken consoles here. I've owned a switch since 2018 and that's still going strong. so e people have had switch 2 preorder issues, however have you ever thought that it's the delivery companys fault? Truly breaks my heart seeing my childhood so low reviewed here....

And do remember that all the other console companies are copying Nintendo now with handhelds, and the switch is the best selling console of all time, so they are doing something right.

Scam Company - Please Read

Scam company. They minimise costs by shorting the customer on quality and yet the prices of their consoles & games are nigh unpayable for most. This company is run by greed. They claim to “Put smiles on the faces of everyone they touch”. They do not give a shit about you. They will put a hole in your minimum wage earning wallet and they will happily continue to do so. If you want to play nintendo games you “have” to buy a nintendo console. If you don’t feel like using 3rd party software to emulate these consoles then please buy second hand. You will be doing the gaming community a favour by starving this ruthless, greedy and inferior games company.
Edit: I have a gameboy from 2002 that still works. I got my switch in 2018 and its already falling to pieces

Nintendo is very considerate

They do an amazing job recking their games. They destroy their costumers trust by bricking peoples Nintendo. And their customer service Top notch might be even better than other consoles.

5/5 Nintendo for being really considerate of your users

If you are considering purchasing a…

If you are considering purchasing a nintendo product for your child....don't they have zero customer service to get in touch with. My sons switch stopped charging after 6 months and they wanted to charge me £120 for a repair. I had no way to dispute it, no way to speak to anyone for evidence that the repair was necessary. I am gutted for him. Unfortunately we could not afford this expense so it will go to the recycling center

They replaced it!

When I bought my son a Nintendo switch light from Target I could tell it had been used when I opened it but I bought an extra warranty on it so I thought it would be fine. Well, I should have took it back for a replacement because I had nothing but trouble. First the plug, then the charging port, then the screen. All in 8 months time. But, every time I sent it in, Nintendo fixed it. The last time that I sent it in for the screen, I had already made up in my mind that I was going to have to buy a new one because it was getting to be to much. To my surprise Nintendo replaced the whole Switch lite! Wow! Thank God!!! I am grateful that they heard my complaints of it being used when I bought it and stepped up to correct the problem.
I was so convinced that I would have to buy another switch that I actually bought a new Nintendo switch while waiting for them to repair the old one. I will give it to my daughter. I am grateful.
Thank you Nintendo.com

Switch2, Cons, more Cons no Pro’s to buying this at all,

Well we can start with licensed Nintendo products from switch brought from Nintendo like Sd cards, accessories and the cartridge games are NOT COMPATIBLE, with Switch2, for every game owned and it was put in and they want a Nintendo passport picture, which is a digital version of a game already brought, from £7.99-£13.99 for an upgrade, even though Nintendo promised that Zelda Botw/Totk would have free upgrades, there’s not,
If you choose to try and play a game without the upgrade, it warns you that ALL DLC & Purchases brought for this game already will be lost,
Not to mention my amiibo don’t work, tried contacting customer services, of course this is now impossible, so put the Switch 2 back in the box and il return it to them, the graphics are no better than the oled switch I have already,
Oh last thing the cartridge slot with its new cover, also seems to eject the game on its own, I have put in different games closed the top, a few moments later it pops open and cartridge is sticking out a little,

Nintendo SUCKS as a company

Nintendo used to be a good system and company back in the 90's. I can't even order a system online without having an account then fussing with helpdesk to have ownership changed over to the person it is gifted too. If i wanted to be stressed all the time then Nintendo is the company because nothing is simple with buying or using their systems. I like the plug in and play systems not the "must connect to internet and sell all personal information" systems they have now. That should be an option not a mandatory thing for use or even purchase.

Downhill

Have been a life long Nintendo fan since the original Gameboy. Have had subscriptions from them since old enough to have a job. You would think they would care about life long customers that they can easily track. But apparently all of this means "you still don't meet criteria to preorder." Nintendo lost a lifelong member. Not that they care about these members, clearly.

Nintendo not focused on providing a customer experience

In a recent software upgrade to the Switch, Nintendo now forces users playing online games to link their units. That is fine but the consoles need to be near each other to link. That is a terrible product management decision. Users are not near each other by the very nature of online gaming so how can they link their units. I suggested creating a software link using an API and the serial numbers associated with the consoles but was ignored. Typical elitist thinking. In addition, games that were once able to be shared before the update no longer worked and we were forced to purchase the virtual games again. Overall, a miserable experience dealing with them.

This company is a joke

This company is a joke. Pre ordered the switch 2 despite some reservations. Get email saying payment issue & spoke to cc card company. No payment has been attempted! Checked all details & for some reason the order is showing a deleted card as payment method despite cc details being saved & visible everywhere else. After numerous attempts to get this resolved by customer service all the do is fob you off & tell you to wait for an email that you already know you won't get. If it doesn't turn up on 5th June will not be buying it 2 months later when it's next available. This company is seriously in the 20th century & needs investigating. It stinks of corruption

Greedy company. Overpriced products.

Nintendo is getting greedier and greedier. Nintendo Switch 2 proves this in many ways: No more offline gaming. No more games on cartridge, only download, paid user manual, paid online subscriptions etc. So it's useless for those who don't have internet access. Nintendo also believes they can ban any console and games they want, whenever they want to.

Don't buy Nintendo switch 2.
I was going to buy a Nintendo switch 2 until I heard in the TOS that they will ban your console for what ever reason they see fit. I'll not be buying a Nintendo switch 2 now. Glad I saved my money in the future.

Suing small company over game mechanics…

Suing small company over game mechanics they patented after the game got released. And that other companies also use.

Down hill game company with nothing new

They want all your money for such water down dog poop of games. Honestly there is nothing new with this company any more. You get remakes, of remakes, same story type games with really no new better content. The last pokemon games sucked in being interesting or challenging. The last good game they had was LOA and they said nah to it. Oh but God forbid make a game with any mechanics that are UNIVERSAL they slam down a lawsuit. So stupid
What make this all more worse is that they want to charge us basically 100 dollars a game, a subscription service to play the game we "supposably" own for bid sharing it and then change us 700-800 for the "new" game system that doesn't have anything new to it! It's just worse- you can't even use your old games on it.

The Switch 2 does not meet my needs

The Switch 2 does not meet my needs, particularly because I do not truly own the games I purchase. As someone who travels frequently for work, I rely on the Switch for entertainment. However, the lack of internet access while away from home poses significant challenges, especially if I cannot download new games upon their release. This limitation raises considerable concerns for me.
