I bought a €15 top-up code at a Kruidvat store in the Netherlands. The code doesn’t work, and I sent photos and the receipt to the helpdesk. I received a reply saying that my ‘downloaded’ code (even though it was bought in a store) might have issues with letters and numbers — for example, a 3 could be an 8. It’s pathetic that they don’t want to refund the money

Repair process and customer service…

Repair process and customer service awful. My nintendo switch
Oled has major issues some of which are an orange screen and broken fan. When I called them on the 4th February and explained the issue I was told not repairable and I would probably get sent a new one.

I saved my acnh island game to their server and sent it off on 5th to which I have confirmation received 6th. I sent the console, 2 joycons, and dock along with proof of purchase which was required to confirm
Warranty. On the 9th, I received an email with a cost of £102 to fix it, of course I was furious as it is in warranty and should be free.

I called them and they advised as it was purchased via a seller on amazon they didn't confirm warranty, so this obviously delayed the repair. I have been on phone to them daily at this point. After speaking to yet a different customer service member, they advised the console would be repaired for free . I received yet another cost estimate showing that the dock would cost £45 as it has broken pins. I rejected this cost as I advised them I had another dock so wasn't paying that for it to be repaired when a new one is around that price.

At this point I am getting more frustrated. I called them again to be told that the cost was for a new dock not a repair, but because I rejected the estimate, the repair order had to be processed again.. more delays.
I asked to make a formal
Complaint or speak to a manager, as I wanted my console back by 15th February as I wanted to do part of my ACNH game on 16th. All they said was no way of doing complaint, that speaking to them is all I could do, and they couldn't put me through to a manager and they don't do call backs.
I have now bought another switch in the meantime, so to enable me to play the game, but I have asked them if my progress can be uploaded to the new console or do I need to upload it to the old one. They can't give me an answer on the phone as it needs to be escalated to relevant team.
I am still waiting for an answer, how can it be so difficult to advise, they won't just place you on hold and ask the relevant department, everything needs to have an incident number and requested via email!!

I have never had such rubbish customer service. You can't call over weekends, only email. So the customer is just waiting for them to finally decide to update. Such poor customer service.

Buyers beware

Buyers beware, zero customer service, and just prepare to get autogenerated mails back. Had a defective unit couldn't get repaired, bought Nintendo online could only use it for four days. Not really use it, since it was a defective unit. Didn't even want to do the bare minimum(put Nintendo online on halt until I got switch 2 back, give a month online worth 1.67 or something like that). Didn't think with customer who pays hundreds of euros, they don't give a damn. All of this was not my fault. The only fault was that I paid hundreds of euros. Think twice before engaging with Nintendo Imo. I made losses for one week of frustration and desperation (didn't get money screenprotector back ofc, didn't get Nintendo online back ofc, had to sell carrying case etc with a loss, it left such a sour taste in my mouth that I just wanted to get rid of everything). As somebody who bought Gameboy, Nes, snes etc it pains me to say, but I won't ever buy Nintendo again, that's how bad I thought this ordeal was. Don't bother to mail too since you'll just get a impenetrable wall of cue generated mails without anything getting adressed. Just horrible.

Greedy Crooks!

Weeks ago I sent form to them with all required info for a one-time refund since the expensive game I bought on the eShop wasn't playable (crashes, bugs, lag) through Nintendo of Europe, my region. I got an automated email back, confirming that it was received. After a week I sent them an email to their contactATnintendo.de email address. And I got the exact same automated email like I did before. Still no answer after another week.

I learned that Nintendo Customer Service in the United States are significantly better and they actually responds! So, to get any help, make sure to change your region on your Nintendo profile to USA, then contact them through their chat (something Nintendo of Europe are too scared to use themselves, since it's always been deactivated) and provide them with the required information. For more info, just Google it. I found this information on Reddit.

The reason I won't do this is because I will then lose my wallet with money on my Nintendo account. So make sure you have zero money on your account before you make a region change as you will get a warning when you try to do it.

All in all, I have given up waiting for nothing, and decided to continue to play the game with its flaws. It's a real shame that they don't even do the bare minimum and they are an insult to customer service. They love your money, but hate their customers and treat them like crap like the greedy corpo-scum they are. I wonder what they even do there? What's the point of all this bullcrap when they are lazy and don't do their job? Haha xD

Remember, Nintendo of the United States will help you :)

Horrible customer service and horrible technical repairs

Sent my Switch to replace the display and they just simply messed up everything: constant error messages, constant freezes, sound issues, etc. I reported what happened to them and they don’t assume it. My advice is: don’t send anything for repairing after the guarantee expires, prefer third party repair shops, they are more competent and much cheaper.

Simply the least reliable company

Simply the least reliable company. They make limited editions that are only sold on their store and then does not respect their compromises.

I've ordered a limited edition, payment validated and one week before launch it was canceled. I contacted their customer service and it was said that there was an issue with the payment. Well, not only it was previously validated but I made sure that there was enough money on the account. Moreover, how is it possible to cancel a limited product without even checking with the customer beforehand?? Moreover, if I'm telling that I can offer another payment method, why don't they accept?!

Simply shameless behavior

Worst customer service experience I…

Worst customer service experience I have ever come across - I bought a switch off their website over 2 months ago it was broke only worked for about 5 minutes and then orange screen tried troubleshooting didn’t work - I contact them they said that’s fine we’ll arrange DPD to collect it , to then be told DPD can’t collect it I have to return this my self via An Post so I had to find a library to print a label the go to an post to be told I don’t know why they told you to come here as we can’t accept anything with batteries - I went back to them and apparently they can arrange for DPD to collect - so eventually my order was collected and returned to them in a couple of days, for 4 weeks I have been emailing them asking for my refund and all I am told for 4 weeks is that there is no update yet this has been passed to the relevant department even though I have received and sent them the confirmation from DPD to say it has been delivered back to them 4 weeks ago - they have no contact number I try to use their online chat it does not work I get an error message - I used my partners phone for the chat and this eventually worked they were useless I asked for a manager multiple times they told me I can’t speak to a manager or supervisor they said there is no update we will be in touch when there is an update and there is nothing they can do and tell me they are disconnecting the chat before I can even reply - i emailed and asked how can I make a formal complaint they said reply to the email but that was 2 weeks ago and no one from complaints has contacted me either - I am still waiting my refund, I was not surprised to come here and see 1 star review iv I could give negative starts I would

Just plain pathetic

Just plain pathetic. I have no idea how Nintendo still manages to get 1.5 stars, but in order to write you have to give at least one star. Otherwise, Nintendo can now be forgotten in all directions, especially when it comes to the support specialists. This clientele is obviously too stupid to answer even the simplest questions, or they don't get any answers at all, which is anti-social to boot. So I won't be buying any more Nintendo products in the future. I'd rather switch back to Sony and Co., because at least you know that their technology works perfectly...In contrast to the Switch controllers, for example, they are the biggest piece of junk that Nintendo has ever put into circulation and I'm not alone in this opinion. You better close up shop, you losers. If something like this is actually supposed to be customer transparency, I could just throw my money straight out the window, the effect would be the same.

"Do not place an order with them!"

"Do not place an order with them!"
I strongly advise against placing an order with this company. I ordered a Christmas gift, but it was never delivered. After contacting customer service, they informed me that a refund would be processed at some point. There was no empathy for the fact that a child was now going without a Christmas gift due to their incompetence.
The service was poor, and the customer service team was unhelpful

Selfish, Anti-consumer

I've had some very serious mental illness related issues as of late and cancelling Nintendo Online's auto renewal was not exactly at the forefront of my mind. I got into contact with them an hour after the sale went through and no account attached to the purchase of a family annual plan has been used. They won't refund it for any reason despite the fact I cannot currently afford it. The customer service rep shows no compassion despite responding quickly and coherently. I am no longer a Nintendo fan after 20+ years. Companies are really going downhill as of late. Another one that is happy to take money regardless of who they take advantage of, or my financial situation.

mario kart ds on wiiU is very poor and bad

We bought the mario kart play of the nintendo ds console for the wiiU console. But there aren't all functions possible and you cant play with your friends together on the tv screen thats poor. We wanted to give back the play at the e-market of mario kart. But you accept in a little small sentence that you won't have any rights giving back the play in a time slot of 2 weeks. Thats soo poor and not customer friendly. Sry we will never play again nintendo games in future. Xbox is so much more friendly to their buyers.

Nintendo Shop experience is just bad

Nintendo Shop does not give much info about the games.

I did a lot of research for the game Divinity Original Sin 2, this RPG game has a mode where you can play the story mode co-op with split screen.
It works great on other platforms but it does not work on Nintendo Switch.

I bough this game only because of that mode and after downloading I realised that Nintendo Switch does not support it. I've asked immediately for a refund, but they told me they can't do anything because of the T&C. I understand that, so I know I just lost my money, but the shop has no information about this, they don't event have a demo and they don't care if you've used, enjoyed or wanted the game.

The shop is really bad, the experience is bad, the information about the games is none and then the customer service is helpless. They take advantage of being the only online shop to buy games for the console.

I strongly recommend to check everything about the game AND check it for Nintendo Switch, because once you press that buy button, they don't care about you anymore.

Worst Online Shopping experience I have ever had

I ordered the online-store exclusive Red joy-can pair from them, as all the shops in Cyprus have hideous joy-con colours in-stock, and the joy-cons I bought with my Switch have failed.

Within a day of dispatch the package was returned to them by the courier. I mailed them 5 times over the next 20 days. They finally replied after 3 weeks that they would process a refund, and about two weeks later they then sent me a refund summary in the wrong currency (same numbers, but quoted as EUR not GBP). Ultimately refunded the correct amount minus 2-3 EUR I lost in FX rate changes over the time they took.

I then ordered the same items again, hoping the above was a one-off. This second package was held by the courier under the status "Missing, incorrect, incomplete or illegible export documents", so once again I opened a support ticket.

The second order has been returned to them by the courier after a week sitting there with the 'invalid export documents' comment. Nintendo did not contact the courier in time to sort out the problem, and even confused my two orders in communication. Subsequently this order was also returned to them, and I received my second refund a few weeks later.

I ordered a third time using my work address, and once again the order stuck with the courier (DPD)under the status "Missing, incorrect, incomplete or illegible export documents". I mailed Nintendo to get in touch with the courier and exchanged emails about this. I also confirmed my work address with them and sent them the google maps pin that shows it. They told me they had escalated to a team to help in this case, however the courier has once again returned my order to Nintendo. Once again Nintendo stopped communicating with me, and I am now awaiting my third refund.

Worst service I have never received.

Quite simply the worst customer service. The call centre is horrendous. Staff are rude and there is no way to complain. They refuse to refund digital pre-orders you do not own yet or offer free repairs on the Joycon drift they were taken to court for in America. They portray this family friendly image but provide the most disgusting customer service.

The staff speak to you however they like and there is no way to complain to Nintendo. There is no thanks or nice service to their fans. Since they moved the call centre to Spain, they have clearly just gave it to the lowest bidder. I am such a Nintendo game fan, but I absolutely hate the company now because of how bad they treat their fans. It is honestly the lowest of the low customer service and I can't believe how i was spoken to.

Nintendo's consoles are great! But the games :(

Nintendo has great consoles! Good customer service! But the games. Nintendo does not have good games, either they don't have them, or they're the worst possible edition of the game (a few games excluded). I don't dislike their consoles (other than their sensitivity), it's just that the edition most games are either boring or, bad. You could get the same quality in Xbox one consoles, plus good games. All Nintendo would have to do to catch up is to get the same games as everyone else and get the same editions (a few exceptions made). The deal with the Nintendo games is, they leave out a ton of stuff in most of the games. for example, they leave out firefight mode and escalation mode in first and third person shooters. But the company's great! and I would advise a Nintendo console (such as Wii U or Wii) to anyone who wanted one, they work great!
