Having used the services of Nockolds since 1985, usually through Michael Stark, these experiences promoted the 5 star rating.

The conveyancing team at Nockolds has handled three sales and two purchases for me over the last 4 years, and the service has been first rate every time. The communication is swift and the attention to detail excellent. HIghly recommended

I contacted Mahza Pari (Conveyancing Solicitor) to assist me with an urgent matter. Mahza and her colleague Scott, understood my case and they quickly commenced the process. We had couple of hiccups which delayed the matter but in total, they managed to conclude the matter for me within ten calendar days. Unlike other Solicitors, they both answered their phones straight away and kept me informed throughout. My emails were always responded to. However, for such a service I did not pay over the top. Very pleased with their service, attitude and fees. They even removed any unnecessary steps which could have delayed the matter.
Will approach them again and recommend them.

I had the pleasure of working with Joanna Sutton at Nockolds, and I cannot speak highly enough of the support she provided. She was incredibly understanding and helpful throughout the entire process, always taking the time to explain things clearly and reassure me when I needed it most.
Joanna’s empathy spoke volumes. She truly listened, and her thoughtful approach made a world of difference during a very difficult time in my life. I felt supported, respected, and genuinely cared for every step of the way.
I’m deeply grateful for everything she did, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Joanna to anyone in need of compassionate and professional legal support.

Nockolds keep delivering time and time again.
I have dealt with multiple members at Nockolds on many aspects of corporate and personal law, and they have always been professional, knowledgeable, and hugely helpful in all areas. Most recently, working with Lucy and her team on a time sensitive matter where they truly went Above and Beyond! Also to mention other team members, Gary, Nicola and Saagar. Thank you all.

The solicitor made the process seamless and easy for me despite my having mildly complicated requirements. Their advise and communications were clear, obviously knowledgeable and friendly. Admin staff were less clear making time frames and process slightly awkward, but overall a good experience with an appropriate outcome. I was advised how to attend to certain related matters on my own in order to save money, but was also offered their services to complete them for me with no pressure. Not inexpensive, but it felt like value for money and an appropriate price for the peace of mind I have going forward. I did not shop around for prices prior to booking an appointment, trust is a more important .

Joanna has been fantastic! She has helped me go through a Settlement Agreement. Always reactive with her answers from the first email when I reached out! She's been very good advice and ready to step in for a smooth process. She took the time to answer all my questions and not speed through any. I recommend 10/10!

Have dealt with Lucy Riley for a number of years and wouldn't use anyone else now. Incredible service and the speed in which they respond to our queries if always impressive. Nothing is ever too much trouble. We also had some training at their offices yesterday and their team are all amazing. Thanks very much as it is very important when running a SME that we have the legal support and you are the best.

I found this company on a search on the web. Having read the positive reviews I went ahead and contacted them as I needed a Spanish document translating. I dealt with Dalilia who promptly responded and dealt with my request in a timely and efficient manner. The price of the service I needed was very good and the work completed within , I think, 2 weeks.

Although our house purchase went through, our dealings with Nockolds, particularly with our solicitor, were by far the most aggravating part of our experience.
Friends recommended us Nockolds, and upon a first call with Jeanette (who was a pleasure to work with), we chose them and were assigned a specific solicitor. First strange thing we realized in hindsight was that we never had any sort of intro call with her to walk us through the process. It just started, albeit initially smoothly, by email. Then, here is the litany of things that drove us crazy
- Borderline harassment of relatives for proof of funds (apparently Nockolds policy, but be warned, they will go back decades to find out how people in their 70s have a few thousand pounds to give to their children)
- Does not schedule calls, just says she’ll call when she can
- Did not respond for almost a week on timeline update (replied to other things, but dodged this – finally said she’d “look into her report”)
- OOO half day on exchange day, only told us the day before
- Did not manage the timeline expectation with sellers (or keep us in loop), resulting in some very awkward conversations with the seller’s side and the estate agent
- Did not deal with or properly inform us on missing building inspection certificates until THE DAY OF EXCHANGE (when our solicitor was off…), resulting in us frantically having to dig into it and pushing back the exchange
- Tried to rush us to exchange on the agreed-upon date, when there was clearly a red flag (borderline malpractice). When we pushed back to sellers, they resolved the matter in 48 hours, but it took us pressuring our own solicitors not to take the easy way out
- Needed to be chased after the missing exchange date, and in general, was TERRIBLE at keeping us in the loop. Also, complaints from the other side about this, which we are inclined to believe, given our experience.
- No apology for clear mess up. All we got was “I’m sorry you feel that way”…tell you all you need to know about communication style.
- OOO on day of completion, only told us a day or two before, and handed off to a completely new person for one of the most important days of our lives
- We found out that both exchange and completion had successfully gone through from the estate agent first, rather than our own solicitors.
- No follow-up. No “enjoy your new home”…just felt like with all the issues, our solicitor gave up on us, knowing a review like this was coming, and did the bare minimum. And to be clear, we were beyond patient and polite about all the above throughout. Maybe that was our mistake…
Let me end by saying that apart from the building certificate (which turned out to be easy to resolve), this was one of the smoothest, quickest, easiest transactions a conveyancer could wish for, and yet they were the most aggravating part of the whole experience BY FAR. I cannot imagine what dealing with this solicitor would be like if you have a more complex transaction.
Avoid this company for your house purchase. I'd say just avoid the solicitor we had, to give Nockolds the benefit of the doubt that it was just a bad apple, but as they flagged this review, preventing me from giving her first name, probably best to avoid them altogether.
