Trying to exercise my rights under the CGA has been like pulling teeth with Noel Leeming. My 1.5-year-old PS5 suddenly stopped turning on, and despite the CGA, I had to push back several times aft... See more

Bought a remote control truck
Bought a remote control truck for my grandson for his birthday, from NL Waipapa. Great service here.
Grandson was so happy with it, but after half hour of playing it was making weird noises and not working properly. Took it in to Matamata NL who said they had stock but couldn't find them, so directed us to NL Cambridge who apparently also had stock. Drove 40kms in Xmas traffic to find that the only one they had was a customer return which was used, which they tried to give me. Received my money back.
My issue is the waste of time (drove almost 100km) and money we spent just to try to remedy the situation.
Please do not bring this cheap junk jnto the country to sell and ruin little boys excitement.
Finally got my order
Edit review:
Were it not for my bad review here at Trust Pilot, I might not have gotten my order sooner. NL replied to my complaint/email here and the following day, 19-12-22 was told my order was ready for pickup. Did I have to give a bad review? Yes, I think so because NL had my order in stock at other NL stores but not in the store where I placed my order. And it still took 10 days to get my order.
I would reiterate that I will no longer buy/order any item that's not in stock instead buy/order it from another appliance store like JBHifi or Harvey even if the price is steeper. But be wary of ALL those stores because they keep changing their prices and overpriced especially Harvey Norman. Same item I bought from NL is $200 more expensive at Harvey Norman. Shop around online.
Floor Stock not for sale
Our washing broke down so decided as it was 9 years old to buy a new one. Noel Lemming Levin had what we wanted but it was “floorstock” so they said they have a policy of not selling that and tried to find us one elsewhere! Their policy was if it could be delivered in two weeks they couldn’t sell floorstock! Then because Christmas was in less than two weeks the policy was a month!!! What’s the point of having stock in your shop if it’s not for sale?? Very disappointed at there service, they could have had the asking price in the bank that day!
I went to pick up my Flybuy rewards I…
I went to pick up my Flybuy rewards I ordered In Silverdale. They wouldn't give me my SD Card I ordered from Flybuys. I showed them the print out, and told them I spend all my points plus top up with cash, they told me No, I came back next day to try this girl gave me The SD card. Then they Billed me for it today on the 9th Dec and say if I don't pay $22 on the 20 DEC they put 1.25% monthy on this bill. This made up Bill! Why should I pay? It's a Flybuys reward I shouldn't have to pay! I am Not Paying them It's My reward from flybuys. I am never shopping Noel Leeming again, they also put the price up from $25 to $50! to get 1 point for Flybuys!
if could do I lower would...
if could do lower would.... ordered washing machine online,
after a week of hearing nothing, I followed up about a delivery and got told they were out of stock and wouldn't supply for at least three weeks. Noel leemings had no intention of letting me know if hadn't chased it
that was after 20 mins on chat bot, 23 min on phone, to then get cut off when got passed to a third person to manage
finally on the second wait time on the phone I got passed onto the store.
after sales service sucks, no contact, no help, happy to take money, but just useless to manage the issues of their own creation.
how can they sell on special product they don't actually have supply of.... isn't that called bait marketing and illegal in this country
the person at the store mt maunganui: Priti - very helpful especially after all the frustration of being passed around, you have got to ask why they have online help, call centres, on web sales, if this company can't met its obligations when you use it, and the people on the other end can't fix anything.
Terrible experience with stock and delivery
Terrible experience - I'll start from the top.
In store: Went to look at fridges at the Newmarket store and could just hear the shuffling footsteps of the sales person following us wherever we went despite us saying we were browsing still. Ended up deciding on a fridge and tried to use the friends and family discount code I got through work (the entire reason I went to Noel Leeming). Was told the price would be the same for every single fridge I asked for pricing on. So what's the point of this fraudulent friends and family sale? Anyway, we were sick of this experience at this point and just needed a fridge so we purchased. The sales guy went heavy on the extended warranty despite us saying no, and promised delivery for today (24.11.22) saying someone would ring before to confirm the date and time. Happy as.
Delivery: I get a call a few days before (22.11.22) saying that my delivery will be completed between 8am-10am on the 24.11.22. I take that morning off from work so I can be at the house for delivery. 10:00 am comes and goes and I finally ring Noel Leeming. Took me SIX TRIES before I could get through to a person. First person in customer support I get to tells me to ring the Newmarket store directly. I ring and no one answers. Second person in customer support I get to tells me that the fridge was never in stock and that delivery wasn't meant to be for today! She also tries to palm me off to the Newmarket store and ofc no one answers again. Then I have to ring back and at this point I'm pissed. FINALLY this girl tells me that they're ordering directly from the supplier and delivery is now next Monday. They don't know who rang me to confirm delivery (BS) and apart from one sorry there is nothing else they can do to pacify or rectify the situation. I have taken time off work, and now I have to live until Monday without a fridge because of their sheer incompetence with stock. Horrible experience. I will update if I ever get the fridge on Monday.
After sales service 🤣🤣🤣🤣
No after sales service. Asked NL to send my coffee machine, for in warranty repairs, which should take 2 weeks. Coffee machine sat in a box in the store for 3 weeks! 5 weeks later they still aren't sure where my coffee machine is. 🙄🤬
Horrible wait time
Horrible wait time, took 3 WEEKS! And it took 1 week and a half to actually accept the item to send but didn’t even get sent. I get orders from half way around the world for half that time. Nothing I’ve ever ordered online has taken three weeks and it still isn’t here, such a waste of time had to hold off time away for this.
It was an insurance replacement which…turned sour due to noel leamkns bad ability to deal with an older person.
It was an insurance replacement which between the insurance company and noel leamongs took a week to sort out. Right sorted. Supposed to arrive Thursday this weeks. That meant an old 70 year old with no fridge for 2 weeks.. no "I will bring temporary or what can i do to help? The fridge is now arriving next Tuesday. Wow 2 and a half weeks without a fridge for an elderly person Thank God I don't act old. Lift up 40 kg at a time. I instigated a camping fridge with 3 litres of frozen water replaced every 6 hours. i have owned 2 retail businesses where I would arrive to sort out a problem even after a 10 hour day. That smile thst extra input into your customer is what service is all about. A few I comments from your staff IAM SO SORRY...WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELP. that caring service has gone.
A final suggestion. Would you like me to run a seminar in true old fashioned costumer service.I HAVE DONE MANY SEMINARS OF THIS NATURE IN MY YOUNG 70 YEARS i
actually was forced to.use umniel leaming by my insurance company . I do shop everywhere else in Levin before you get my money for these high ticket items you sell
PS THIS US THE 3RD TIME BAD SERVICF HAS HAPPENED. I WILL TRAVEL NEXT TIME OUT OF LEVIN..
⛔️ZERO INSURANCE
⛔️ZERO INSURANCE.
I bought a Samsung phone & case including 1year insurance ($795nzd total ), I legitimately had a Samsung A53 5G phone go missing/stolen and Kaitaia/Noel Leemings refused to accept my Police statement of my then missing/stolen phone, my use of words: lost-missing-stolen on my Police report seems to dictate ZERO insurance coverage, their small print T.O.S is a free-pass to NOT replace an insured phone.
BEWARE
Purchased a phone online
Purchased a phone online. They say "allow 3-7 working days for delivery". What they fail to mention is they will take forever to send it in the first place. It's been 7 working days, not even sent yet.
Bad service. no care for customer orders
When i pay $1000 for a console i'd expect they'd take the time and care to package it correctly for courier. My new PS5 was jammed into a box that was too small and the corners of the box were crushed (not from courier damage) the PS5 box clearly just didn't fit inside the courier box so It was jammed in and damaged even before courier. There was also a weird amount of dried leaves or debris inside the actual PS5 box (not the courier box) the PS5 console box, making me question whether its been opened. The console boxes also don't come sealed?? and my controller has components or parts rattling inside it? I honestly would've rather ordered from mighty ape or some other place that takes care in customer orders but noel leeming was the only place with stock. I'm also having trouble now getting a reply from customer service about the possible faulty controller.
I brought a Fitbit 26 March 2022
I brought a fitbit 26 March 2022. It dropped off my wrist on 24 September 2022. I took it to Whanganui store, staff told me I broke it so it is not covered under warranty. Do not buy from this company ever!! IF something gets broken/damaged- they will say you damaged it yourself. BECAUSE THEY DONT WANT TO PAY TO FOR A REPLACE MENT ITEM. POOR QUALITY ITEM AND WORSE SERVICE EVER. POOR COMPANY ATTITUDE TOWARDS CUSTOMERS. I DONT RECOMMEND YHIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.
I ordered a digital gift card on line 3…
I ordered a digital gift card on line 3 weeks ago (Sept 17th). I received a confirmation, the money was deducted from my MasterCard account, and then nothing. Absolutely nothing!
I have written to Customer Service, I have called Customer Service, and I wrote again last Monday with proof and still nothing!!! I was promised a response in 24-48 hours the first two times. Now, after a week, nothing from my third email.
October 17, 2022
Today my digital gift card arrived. The problem got sorted when I finally got a case number and my issue got directed to the correct department. A big thank you to Jackie.
Very disappointed
Very disappointed, would not recommend purchasing an appliance that is not in stock, it was clearly stated and understood that the appliance would be shipped from the supplier, before purchasing I rang the customer service desk, whom informed me that there was one in stock on the suppliers website and I would receive it in 5 days, it has now been 13 days... with two calls to customer service being told we are waiting on supplier to ship. They offer no help what so ever, if fact in of the calls I heard a bunch of people in the background laughing and joking around. There is obviously no value on customer service after they have received your money.
These companies don't realise bad news travels faster than good news... I have no good news.
Update 7.10.22
Its now been 25 days, have not received my purchase, heard nothing from Noel Lemons...
Worst customer service ever manukau…
Worst customer service ever manukau supa centre I think the Guys name was James I have purchased many items from Noel lemmings in the past great sales bargains usually leave the store satisfied great bargain great service this time I had completed my purchase when “James” approached the counter said I had been over charged said he could save money got the girls to reverse my charges and list my items again showing me how much I would be saving then requesting a further $300 I asked how can this be a saving when I have to pay a further $300 he was actually pushing the warranty when I declined he held me up for at least 30 min he was very rude derogatory towards me told me to leave when I asked for my goods behind the counter he threw them on the counter then grunted rather rudely across the room to the salesman who had served me I asked for a bag to put my goods in he asked for $1 pay to charity then tossed me a bag that was split I told him in front of staff at the counter he was very rude he said his wife puts up with him I said his wife might put up with his rudeness but I won’t
Absolutely horrible experience with…
Absolutely horrible experience with manukau super centre Noel lemming.
Bought 85 inch tv from them paid in cash, got told by manager it will be delivered by a certain day but received nothing. Than found out nothing was in the system no communication, staff don’t no what’s happening, just blaming each other.
Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone really bad experince with full of excuses.
Pretty ticked off
Pretty ticked off. Found a deal with two days left to buy. Had arranged to buy through a lovely young man who'd helped an elderly friend. On the next day I went to the shop, (ordered but not paid as card was at home) and waited for a phone call to say they'd sourced the item. At 2.30pm left for work but not before trying to ring twice and second time leaving a message to please ring me back...got nothing, no call. Finally on call 3, at work, got hold of the store and the worker and was told I can't have it because I have to pay for it today...and I've just started my shift. Missed out because firstly someone did not call back, and also because HN were inflexible with their policy...oh, unless you owned a trust or a business...🤷🏻♀️ In the last 8 years have bought two laptops, one iPad, three fitbit watches, and a double door fridge...not a huge customer but not a time waster either.
Last weeks visit from a tech from Noel Leemings
I recently had a visit from a tech from Noel Leemings Tech solutions... he is the best tech I have had from Tech solutions and totally trustworthy with the obvious skills that help you to know he knows what he is talking about. My wifi on fibre was dropping out and it was the fault of a Vodafone Router!! So many thanks Sam Mac for making my dday and instead of Vodafone blaming the TV it was their equipment. Really great guy!
Just avoid Noel Leeming
Just avoid Noel Leeming. Even if it means travelling further or paying more. Their strapline "Always happy to help" is marketing fluff. They only exist to fleece customers.
My last (and final) purchase at Noel Leeming has resulted in 3 separate issues that are unresolved.
1. Purchase.
Sales Rep at the Royal Oak store blatantly lied to my face. He stated that the delivery team operated after hours. I double checked, "after dinner at 8pm?" And he replied "of course". Delivery team only operate business hours. Their delivery driver then rang to arrange a time during the day, which wasn't suitable. When I stated what I was told instore, the poor guy replied "the sales guys are always doing this".
2. Delivery.
When we finally got delivery, the installers scratched our front porch by dragging the hand trolley lying down (rather than on its wheels). I have cctv footage of this carelessness. Then, after they left, we noticed they gouged our polished wooden floor, presumably by dragging the washing machine across the floor, rather than using "sliding discs" for the machine's feet.
And finally, when using the machine, they didn't connect the wastewater pipe well enough, causing leakage. And to top it off, the machine only takes cold water. The installer did not warn us, and didn't put a cap on the hot water outlet, so when we used the sink, hot water gushed on to the floor! They just DON'T CARE!
3. Complaints.
Firstly I called the call centre. Got a friendly and attentive lady who was very sympathetic and apologetic. She said she'd escalate to the regional manager who'd she'd have call me. It never occurred.
A week later I went into the Royal Oak shop and spoke with the manager. Thankfully the sales rep was away, as I would have given him a serve! The store manager stated she was deputusing and would escalate. Took my details. Even stated that the gouged wooden floor could be dealt with by their insurance. Since then, nothing.
Today I have called the call centre again, with the hope of being put through to management at Head Office. I'm still waiting for my call to be answered. I've typed this review while on hold for (now) 43 mins. I'm getting sick of hearing the automated message "one of our helpful team members will be with you shortly".
I will never, ever patronise Noel Leeming again. I promise. Their complete lack of care, respect and honesty is alarming; especially for a large NZ company. And I feel they've shown a total lack of customer empathy and care towards me. My experience is obviously reflective of endemic issues within the company. I wish them well, but I guess they'll soon wonder why their sales are going to competitors.
Can't say I didn't try to warn them.
