Unhelpful in all ways

Unanswered telephones, Unanswered emails.
Customer service is non existant.
It's definitely a case of who you know with this council.
No help whatsoever.
12 month waiting list to get council owned trees cut back that are encroaching my property!
Parks are not looked after, roads are full of potholes, housing department are useless....8 years on a waiting list for a council house with still no sign of an offer! The list goes on and on.
All top management need replaced and policies and procedures need overhauled!

Corruption…. If you want a property from this lot good luck if you’ve been on waiting list for two year

For all those that want a council property with this council your wasting your time!!!! If you’ve been on the waiting list which feels like forever…….. let me tell yous!! Forget about the assessments and whether you qualify……. These properties are given to those that work for the council and their friends and family. Corruption is an understatement.. to say the least my nana has now eventually gone into full time care which happens to be with NLC my mum happens to live next door (which she rents privately). Due to my mums mobility she’s been using my nanas wet room. My mum has asked the council if she can take residence in my nanas due to her going in care. Their reply was that she’s needs to be medically assessed due to the amount of points. The assessment has still yet to be done and has had an email from Stephen Llewellyn due to the property layout my mum mobility isn’t suitable for the layout of the property!!!! She’s not been f**king assessed yet!!! If you want to make a complaint here’s an email to chief of housing MR D MURRAY mu**aydes@no**hlan.gov.*k

Your are most likely going to get a response from his PA Gillian. I want to expose this council of discrimination and incompetence my family has been mislead, mistreated and have not been given the thought of empathy……. Absolute f**king donkeys . I’ve already emailed in support of my mum as a supported statement to see what they can do even if it’s to speed up my mums medical assessment to help with her points. I also stated no one likes bad press. So here I will expose them…. Well I wasn’t lying

I was discriminated against

I was discriminated against, not listened to or respected and was ordered to pay a fine after unloading my car for just a couple of minutes. I have a disability and at the time was going through several hospitalisations and treatments and after a 7 months of fighting them they still upheld the fine. They're behaviour and disregard was and is disgusting. If you are vulnerable but are willing to fight them on any matters that they are pressing upon you, please seek of legal advise/support beforehand.

Be very aware!!

Firstly, I agree with what I have read from other reviewers. When they want payment you are a pariah and they chase you. When you want them to do something then good luck to you. Email notifications - ignored for example. Please, nobody sign a tenancy agreement with them until you have asked them loads of questions, especially about restrictions on exchanging a property, as they fail to tell you up front about the discrimination and restrictions they put on you. They have cost me hundreds and hundreds of pounds because of their, in my opinion, deceptive practices. Then, when you complain they seem to think that you should have been aware of the discrimination and restrictions in the first place, and not got yourself into the mess that they caused by their non-disclosure. They seem to make the rules up to suit themselves, or to give themselves a quiet life. It is only when you dig further you get to realise what they are really like. You have been warned.

Worst Council !!!!!!

Worst Council to stay in across the whole of Scotland.
You will get tons of mail and phone calls if u are late with any payment but if it comes to fixing and helping tenants they don't have time and u need to wait years.
I'm still waiting for them to fix the retaining wall that might collapse on someone's leg. NLC's reply was that's not a health and safety issue !!

They don't think happy tenants = plenty of cash thru the years. NOOO who cares to get all their cash now.

Useless Council inaction may lead to deaths

Completely useless the whole area looks like an abandoned post apocalyptic land. No weed killing no grass cutting in acres of previous cut areas. They spend money on useless tiny projects that make them seem all PC and environmental friendly. All the residents see is a visually deteriorating environment that will cause those with pollen allergies to have to stay indoors. No cutting at road junctions and roundabouts will lead to deadly crashes. GET THE GRASS CUT and weeds removed. Before the freezing in winter of roots in roads and pavements results in massive increase in dangerous pot holes again with the potential of death or serious injuries. Think of the people not the £

Could not try any harder to AVOID helping!

If NLC put the same effort into helping people that they expend in trying to avoid their responsibilities they might be better respected. Despite NLC's Chief Executive having already been involved in my complaint, both the Anti-Social Department and the NLC Landlord Registration Department refuse to address my complaint despite the fact that IT IS AN EXISTING COMPLAINT that they supposedly resolved. A 30 second telephone call or a letter to the person causing the repeat problems would sort this. Rather than looking into the facts of the matter, i.e. they have already warned the problem parties, they are continually saying to phone the Police (not a Police matter) or get a lawyer rather than make any effort to do anything. Worst possible service from a local council!
