You need protection from Norton LifeLock

I contacted customer service through chat to inquire about why I was paying Norton LifeLock Ireland and not US. I was told that it’s the same company and coverage was the same. I was then offered a discounted rate for the following year of $54.99. I thought…that’s awesome do the $54.99. Well, I had to set up my new debit card on the Norton site (previously renewing would go through PayPal). Well, I accidentally got cut off from that agent on the chats. I contacted them again and got another agent.I paid for my discounted renewal and this agent says “I see your Norton Delux and VPN need to be renewed would you like to do that as well?” I said, what did I just renew? And this person was like “you renewed the premium version, don’t worry you’re still covered is there anything else I can help you with?” So it took me FOREVER to get this person to acknowledge that I was double paying for services for the past 3 years. When I asked that auto renewal be stopped on all subscriptions this person stopped auto renewal and told me my auto renewal was stopped for both versions (Premium and Delux). I asked about tje VPN 3 times and they kept ignoring my questions. It took my about 3hrs to get everything stopped.I don’t believe the agent through the chat stopped anything. I had to call them fo talk to a real person in order to make sure everything was taken care of. I had to cancel subscriptions through Apple and PayPal as well. I’m primarily pissed off by the fact that they were going to continue to have me double pay for the overall protection and double on the VPN. Had I not looked at my PayPal and questioned the country who knows how much longer I’d be paying for their service. Also, the fact that they don’t allow customers transcripts of the conversation during chats and they intentionally left out the fact that I had multiple accounts is very troubling to me. I will NEVER use their service again…NEVER!!! BTW-I think it came out to over $500
I was paying a year with duplicated products.

They are scammers

I have been billed 4 times just this month and I have never used them. When I called and explained it wasn't me, they wanted all my bank info so they could return the money..told them I do not bank on line and they offered to do that for me...a little too suspicious...

Never Trust Norton.

No team is available to talk with you as you will be talking with a bot not a human. Company is really owned by Gen and is based out of Arizona. Do not ever trust this company or any of its employees.

a perfect example of corporate bullying and underhanded practice

Norton 360
It is not often that one comes across a case of a multi-billion-dollar company bullying a disabled senior citizen with a heart condition but this is a classic example of misuse of market power. I have spent many hours talking to Norton and suffered great stress each time. Is this really what American business is coming to? Anything to make a fast buck?
I purchased a licence for the antivirus software Norton 360 about two months ago.
I contacted support about another matter and the agent logged into my computer. Without warning she simply deleted my software and disconnected from my machine. I immediately contacted support again and was connected to a different agent. This agent also logged into my machine, told me she could do nothing and again disconnected the connection. I contacted support a third time and was connected to a third agent. He was able to reinstate the software and register it.
About two weeks ago a notice appeared on my screen that my licence had been revoked. I contacted support again and after quite a bit of discussion and investigation the agent was able to restore the licence again and added 20 days to the term as compensation.
A week ago the same notice appeared on my screen. Again I contacted support and was told that Norton had a dispute with the supplier who sold me the license so they cancelled my license. After some calm but intense discussion I was told that they would do nothing for me and that I should contact the seller. The seller has however gone out of business. All the agent agreed to do was “escalate” the case. A week later I had still heard nothing so I contacted support again and was told that because the case had been escalated, they could do nothing for me.
I bought this software on the open market at the market price from what appeared to be a reputable seller in an arms-length transaction. Norton cancelled my licence because they have a disagreement with this seller which I can do nothing about.

Non-existent support

Non-existent support.

Chat is extremely slow. You are fortunate if you get past the automated service to speak to anyone and describe your issue. When I eventually got through I was cut off several times mid-discussion from their end and not through a connection problem.

After over an hour’s repetitive discussion on their remote service which I had already previously agreed to I was eventually given a link with PIN to download a zip file. This I did immediately and after a number of attempts with new pins they supplied only to be told on opening each of the zip files that the session had expired.

Several more attempts on chat automatically directed me to another support web page but the message on my screen was specifically to contact the technical team.

Although it says telephone support is 24/7 in my country it specifies it Mon-Fri Office hours.

I have received endless automated emails from them inviting me to call back on chat but the result is always the same as the highly time consuming efforts I described above. There is no offer to try and contact me and simply an impression they do not care.

The excuse of a very high volume of contacts they have is indicative of an equally high number of contacts they must have with problems.

Lousy business model

Norton has the worst kind of business model. For their free Android Norton clean they offer zero support except for their users forum. Now at least i know that and have erased all their programs and started to use another company.
