Went to Norcutts in Widnes today. Ate lunch at the restaurant. Food was fabulous and clean premises. Including clean cutlery. Lovely staff, found them to be fast and efficient. Will go again

Bad shopping experience

Today I thought I'd start Christmas shopping in case of another lockdown. Found a lovely Xmas globe for my mum and a Flamingo light for my aunt who are both isolating in Scotland. The price ticket in the flamingo (pink) was £14.99 and blue was £22.99 so obviously chose the pink. At the till the lady who was lovely I might add told me it was the higher price so someone checked we all eventually looked at the shelf after I said what it had said originally. The whole thing came to a head when the price ticket had obviously been moved by the time I got there and the staff member said they hadn't changed it..... So obviously inferring I was not being truthful - a liar- I do realise they called the manager after I asked as I wasn't happy with the staffs attitude towards me, but at that point I thought what's the point..... I won't ever be back I buy all my Christmas goodies here, and after today they won't see me back. They don't deserve loyal customers. There is no excuse for rude staff.

Nottcuts Cranleigh

Generally OK on the plant side, and better presented in 2020, but still not really a proper nursery. Given size of grounds there should be a much wider choice, not just a focus on ready-to-go seasonal sellers at inflated prices.
All the other stuff: food, books, jewellery, clothes etc is superfluous for a professional nursery. I'm surprised the local planners allow some of the activities. Cranleigh Nottcuts is incrementally converting greenhouses to a restaurant and general store and not paying the same business rates as shops on the high street [and creating more road traffic] - not right.

Customer Service provided just that.

Customer Service provided just that.

It was depressing reading going through customers' reviews, but my story finally ended satisfactorily.

I had a problem with wooden garden furniture (Emily Bench and Table set). Many of the wooden components had deep cracks, so I asked for replacements. Fortunately, I kept contacting by email the same named individual at Notcutts Customer Service, who kept track of my problem and was helpful and courteous. The suppler sent replacement parts by express delivery.

It all took an age but at last I can sit down.

Visited Notcutts Norwich today

Visited Notcutts Norwich today. Despite Coronavirus advice they are still forcing customers to walk through the entire shop in order to pay for plant purchases. Not only that but it took 25 minutes queuing inside to pay while breathing recycled air and feeling trapped. Staff were not even prepared to consider keeping the sliding exit door open even though it was a warm day. Why can't Notcutts open tills for purchases outside the shop area and thus show a little more care for their customers and staff?

Notcutts Maidstone has gone down badly

I have visited Nottcutts Maidstone several times in the past and always thought it was excellent. But we went there yesterday, and oh dear, what a difference. We all know that Covid-19 has caused businesses problems but most are doing their best to recover. Notcutts Maidstone looks as if it is giving up, and it appears that the rot set in some time ago.
The range of plants is awful, with empty stands and some areas looking derelict. Plants that were on display were in poor condition or dying. Indoors was as bad with little of what a good garden centre should have being available. The fertiliser we wanted certainly wasn't.
The indoor area is a dreadful maze and finding your way round is difficult in spite of the signs.
We will not return. I advise you to go elsewhere and not waste your time at Notcutts.

Well worth a safe visit...

Notcutts St Albans are providing a superb service during this current epidemic, great products & prices, and fabulous service throughout in particular in the socially distanced restaurant where 1 young waiter went over & above the call of duty to assist a demanding customer... Well done & thank you all

Renewing privilege card can't be done…

Renewing privilege card can't be done in store which is incredibly annoying. Can not renew on website as the page keeps re-loading and doesn't process. 3 calls made each took at least 20mins to get through: no one I get then get through to can actually renew the membership over the phone but some who can will 'phone me back'. They've said that 3 times now and no-one has. How hard can it be to simply renew membership?!? I may not bother soon.

Can I get though to anyone by email or phone? Impossible. I just hope someone in the organisation reads this and gets in contact with me.

UPDATE:
Was emailed back on Thur night to say they would give me bench at reduced price. Thank you. Still no notification when it will be delivered though. Hence 3 stars.

Notcutts Customer Service totally useless!

I recently ordered a companion garden bench On line on 25/6/20. I then received an email confirmation saying that the order had been despatched. It did not arrive and no further communication so contacted customer support. Was told I would receive a call back within 4 working days. No call so I called them again. Same thing but this time I did get a call back with delivery date of 9/7/20.
It was self assembly and two special screws were missing. Called customer service the same day and was told it would be up to 4 working days for someone to call me back to give them more details of the two screws!!
Now 6 days and no call and I still can’t complete the assembly of the bench.
It will be day 7 when I call them again!!
Their customer ‘support’ is absolutely awful and totally unreliable. They are quick enough to take your money but don’t seem to care after that. Will not be buying from Notcutts ever again!!

I went on a Sunday and checked the…

I went on a Sunday and checked the closing time, which said 4pm.

I got there at 3:40pm and was refused entry. There were 2 people on the door where people normally queue but there were no people at all.

I said I knew what I wanted and I’d driven quite far to buy it. They said they stop letting people in half an hour before closing! It didn’t say that on the website and it didn’t say that on their voicemail.

I think it’s really bad to just turn a customer away when they have done nothing wrong. If they don’t let people in half an hour before closing, it should state that on the website. Or just to be simpler, it should say, closed at 3:30pm.

Notcutts Pembury

I visited the Notcutts Garden Centre at Tunbridge Wells. The site is very well maintained with lovely garden plants on the verges going up to the large car park. The garden centre itself is very well laid out with an excellent choice of plants, garden equipment and loads of gifts. There is even a butchers counter and the meat looked to be high quality and the prices seemed pretty good too.
The café had been setup to ensure social distancing and all staff were wearing PPE and were doing well to keep people moving in the right direction and explaining how the food ordering worked. There was hand sanitiser both at the entrance to the garden centre and the café. We had a really nice breakfast and service was fast too. The only downside I would note is that there were a number of items in the shop that were not priced and it was a pain having to get members of staff to go off and look things up especially as there is a one way system in place due to the covid 19 situation. Aside from that understand that you are going to pay a premium here versus the price for identical goods on Amazon. But it was worth it and makes a pleasant morning / afternoon out. I would certainly come back another day.

The Victoria Garden Centre Featherstone. As a previous posting we have also…

As a previous posting we have also visited the Victoria garden centre at Featherstone and found it to be very welcoming and very well organised. We passed our thanks to the staff in the cafe, via a girl called Keren, for their service and for them making our visit as pleasant as possible in these unprecedented times. This was our first time eating out for a long time and we were concerned about the social distancing etc. but everything throughout the centre has been well thought out and put into place to good effect by all concerned. We will be back.

I'm not sure how this company stays in…

I'm not sure how this company stays in business. Relating to the Peterborough site I can honestly say that I have never seen such a ridiculous way of running a company. Staff were witnessed, GUESSING the prices of items and heard to say, just stick £249 on it...some mug will buy it. Aside from that, I witnessed plants being sold, e.g. a lavender, for £14.99....I went to another store locally and bought SIX BIGGER LAVENDER for £10....went back and pointed this out and the staff basically did not care less...there is no logic of rhyme or reason behind their pricing strategy. Plants they are selling at three and four time the price of other local garden centres. Beyond belief...another example.. compost...£6.99 per bag there...same stuff in garden centre down road..£3.99...The owners of this group need to take a long hard look at themselves.

No more free coffee or 2 for 1 meals…

No more free coffee or 2 for 1 meals and as their plants are more expensive than anywhere else I certainly wont be renewing my card! I think they will find this is a great mistake, when we went and had a free coffee we always bought cake or a meal to go with it now they wont get our custom at all!

Notcutts Victoria Garden Centre Featherstone

Visited Notcutts Victoria Garden Centre and Cafe in Featherstone.
The garden centre has social distancing measures in place. All baskets and trolleys sanitised and lots of staff available to help.
The cafe is very organised with every safety measure in place that is possible. My details were taken, then I was taken to a table and the ordering process explained. Tables that had been cleaned and sanitised had a sign on them. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Felt very safe and confident customer needs were being met.

Still waiting for delivery after despatch confirmed

Order placed on 25th June 2020
Email received on 26th June 2020 confirming order had been despatched
2nd July and still no order received
Emailed and spoken to customer care several times now and still not heard anything

I have confirmed that I will give them until Friday 3rd July and if not received, I will be taking the matter legal to get my money back

Shocking customer service levels and for a customer who has been using them for years - real shame and you should be ashamed Notcutts at your lousy customer service attempts!
