National University provides a clear path towards obtaining a teaching credential. The advisors and faculty are well-informed, helpful, and responsive to questions. The classes utilized knowledgeable professors who guided students through the proper social-emotional classroom environment. Their online platform improved when they changed to Brightspace. Also, scholarships were made available for academic performance. This program works best for individuals who want to continue to work while they go to school.

If I could give a 0 I would, the experience with this school made my decision of not even considering to apply here. It felt like when you go into the store buckle at the mall and every single person walks up to you trying to sell you something but could care less about what you actually want. This school is in the business to make money, not see their students succeed. The lack of care and help from the 15 people that were “assigned” to me is insane to me. I hope they can find a way to make this experience better.

Overall great experience in terms of resources, support and getting on track with my educational goals. The advisors are involved in helping students receive the help & tools needed to succeed.

The classes have all been great and the professors very knowledgeable. I have learned more in this program than in the typical brick and mortar campuses.

I have had a great experience at NU I am more than half way through my program and I got every answer I needed answered. The teacher, students, financial aid, academic advisor and more have been more then helpful. The two professors that helped me the most at Danny Martinez and Nicholas Vega. Thanks to them for be their for me and even if I am still not in their class they are still willing to give advice and help. Amazing school amazing experience and I will definitely recommend to anyone.

The content of the classroom material is good. The professor I have right now his temperament is very rude and unbecoming instructing me to drop out of the class explicitly saying I do not have what it takes to be in his 400 level cognitive psychology class that’s just one of the email correspondences I have had with him.
I have had a rude Professor a few months ago as well but not to this level of my current professor. Also some professors will not be explicit enough for students to understand the specific instructions . Instructions are pretty vegue.
Over all content is good .

I went through the administrative credentials program and a lot of the information I needed to test for my AP A’s was not given to me during the program. I did not feel prepared to take that test as a result of the program. I also found it very frustrating when I was told that I was able to finish this program in one year and I had to apply for various applications to do so. I felt that I didn’t get the correct amount of guidance and help from advisors initially it wasn’t until I had an advisor later on in the program that I felt supported.

I began my journey with National in March 2020. I had lot of people recommended the university and my main focus of choosing a university for their price and convenience due to having young children. Back in February 2020, the application process was very easy and there was a lot information in the beginning from the advisors and credential specialists.

Cons: After that they dropped off the face of the earth till I had questions. I had to reach out to start my internship even though I was eligible long before I started. I also wanted to get a second credential but it was much more complicated then the specialist initially discussed. I nearly missed out on graduation until I reached out to figure out that I was eligible. Then when it was time to apply for preliminary credential, I had no idea that my degree wasn't conferred until I had reached out and they put it in the system.

This may also be just general credentialing but there was great learning material but not enough information to help a new teacher survive. My intern teacher was great with communicating as far as through the phone. But really her skills stopped short there. She took my situation into consideration but did not fully back me when I had real issues with my on-site mentor that was issued by my district. She knew the mentor did not have my credential but sided with her more often than not. She also was very disorganized and was not clear with her instructions especially when it came to vital pieces that ensured I'd be applying my credential.

Pros: The classes were manageable enough to have a family and a job. Many of the professors were flexible and gave extensions if you communicated well. My father had passed away in the middle of the semester and the emotional support team was very caring and thoughtful. They helped me drop the class without much of a repercussion. The cost of tuition was very reasonable and I received a lot of scholarships/discounts.

Overall, I would recommend national university but I would caution anyone of my own experience. If I was well informed and checked in more often many of the problems would have existed.

I have been attending NU for the past six months. The staff is friendly and helpful. I have enjoyed my professors but find it hard that they do not follow the same class structure. If the curriculum/expectations followed a designated outline, each class would be easier to follow. Highly recommend the monthly semesters, but be prepared to work hard as this program style is accelerated.

The experience has been great. In the beginning you get email and talk to actual people. However, as you keep moving that seems to end. So far their online classes are what they are supposed to be, but they don’t need others that have no reason to take them.

Was told I could get unofficial transcripts to start and needed officials within 60 days of starting. Then received notification I couldn't start until they had all official transcripts. Nobody ever reached back out to me to follow up or anything. Definitely not a college I will try attending, as it's obviously clear they don't care if you get enrolled or not.

My rating scheme with National University would be 4 stars. This has been challenging, but honestly has been fun for me. My 40+ years of experience have been my strength throughout it all.

My professors have been great, for the most part, although, some do not get back to students quickly enough. I have had a bad experience getting assistance through NU in regard to the Praxis requirement for Ed. School Counseling PPC credential. Other universities do not have the Praxis exam requirement, therefore, I was expecting NU to be more supportive in helping students pass this exam by providing resources or workshops for students. However, that has not been the case.

When I looked in to signing up with National I was immeditately called by a staff member. Each employee has been kind and informative. Everything has been easy to follow and very streamlined. Christopher and Bob have been wonderful to communicate with.

I have entrusted my future career opportunities to the NU Strategic Communication MBA program. My trust in the management, professionals, Dean and support services is at the ultimate level of trust. My trust is based on the actions of all involved. There is none of that “constant declarations of good news” that has zero actionable follow up. I have adopted this philosophy of never baffling people with bull. Some may think me pushy when I insist on actionable plan with a specific follow up time. I know that this is my promise to my future career or employer to have “no excuses, just results”. This is not without kindness and consideration to real life situations. I am on an expressway to success thanks to all partisans to the successful completion of my MBA.
