Can't even call a lot of what's published on this site journalism. Mainly opinion pieces, not the complete picture, and rehashing the same info. You now have to have an account in order to read more than a handful of reader comments, and they heavily censor reader comments. The site would like to be some kind of authority in Dutch news reporting but it's often just a left-wing opinion site. Most traditional media are left-wing (extremist) too or tabloid drivel, so basically no one place to turn to for high-quality objective news reporting.

This site goes to extreme lengths with its censorship.
Most of the time your comments get deleted also, even if they are perfectly civil.

It is just that as long as you don't go in the direction they are trying steer people towards, you get censored.

The journalism itself on the site is also of rather low quality; articles often are in conflict with earlier parapgraphs, in the same article.

It is as if the writer is just copy pasting paragraphs from elsewhere, without reading them to form a coherent article.

I usually dont write reviews or anything, but NU.nl is offending on so much fronts that I actually felt compelled this time.

A lot of censorship. Constant clickbait. Very one sided view. Not good.

One the biggest propaganda machines of the Netherlands. A news site with no morals but subversion.

Nu.nl and the company behind it, is very pro-western minded. They put on news to shock people and even start hate between groups of people and even nationalities.
Opinions are being monitored and mostly always deleted, when I talk about the other side of their article. They only want to riot people not listen to the other side of the story

Nu.nl removed my opinions for what they call "trolling" , behaviour that is for internet trolls. I cannot dispute it, cause they dont allow disputes. Its a propaganda driven website. They follow the NATO / Western views and the worst of all they only allow these views on the forums. So in general its a bad news site and a NON liberal site where your right of free speech is limited.

The news is highly biased, it's nothing more than propaganda. You have the possibility (theoretically) to write a reaction to an article, but every critical questions or remark is being censored and will not be placed. They claim to be trustworthy and critical but is a complete joke.

Biased, not news, only opinions (and short sighted ones at that)

My comments get deleted about 50% of the time. It’s not that I swear or use foul language, I am very civilised and polite.

If you have a different opinion than the one Nu.nl wants to spread, your comments get deleted. This way they steer the conversation about the news and create a very dangerous environment around different news messages.

Absurd. Censuur ten top!

This site is over moderating it's users. They even close down reactions on topics where it matters because the discussions get to heated.

Because some people can't behave on the internet you shouldn't block discussions about important topics. I think their moderation is just wrong and hurting the freedom of speech.

This is the worst website ever. The comment section is heavily censored for polical views, avoid site at all costs. It doesn't matter which topic, if it has any unfavored viewpoint, even if true or fact, it will be censored.

Biased “journalism” (read: left propaganda).
Will not publish any stories or comments that disagree with the one-sided opinions of the “news” site itself (including even scientific Disagreements and deviating proven facts and theories). This has shamelessly been acknowledged by the chief editor.
Has nothing to do with real and honest news gathering.

Getting banned for comments despite getting loads of respects, simply because it doesn't align with their crooked views. Their moderators should take a look at themselves and realize its not their job to steer peoples opinions.
