My shopping experience online with OBI is good. Though I got the new lamp broken by itself, OBI refunded me on time and even replied to my message fast as well. Fast delivery. Will keep going with OBI.
All employees at OBI should speak English, not only German
The lady who handled me over the item I had ordered did not speak English at all. I had to show her the order number on my phone so that she can understand me.
Online order and pickup worked perfectly.
I had to get a specific relay/switch for a repair job and I found it at OBI, even at a competitive price. I ordered online. After about half an hour I was notified that I could come and pick the order up at the store.
Pick-up was very smooth and staff was very helpful and friendly. All in all a perfect experience.
Great if things would work this way everywhere.

I've ordered a lot (a few dozen of) items for new construction site. Just after closing the order, I've noticed that I entered wrong delivery address (confused delivery/invoice addresses) and called customer support to ask, if it's possible to change it, or if I should cancel the order now and buy again. I was assured by the agent that delivery address will be changed, that I should request it via "VDE" email enquiry - packages were not sent yet and all is good.
To my surprise, some days later I started receiving packages at "Invoice address". That was very problematic, because of the location and amount of ordered items. I called customer support and heard, that "changing delivery address after ordering is not possible, other agent should have told me that". Apparently, I was told exactly the opposite, it's also in the email correspondence I have. In the meantime I also got lots "corrected invoice" emails from Obi, which contained newly generated invoices, every time with not updated addresses.
With time it became even more frustrating, because OBI splitted one order in like 20 deliveries, sometimes containing just one tiny item. Had a lot of problems with that, all could be avoided if only I would be told that "address change is not possible, please cancel the order".
In the meantime I received around 50 emails regarding this one order. More than 10, more like 20 packages. Tons of papers, needed to order a taxi on couple of days in a row. All this caused by customer agent, who gave me false information and assured, that address was correctly updated. Could be avoided. Was one of my biggest frustration regarding online orders over months.
They don't know what they're doing
I have ordered a very bulky and heavy item online. After I have decided to return it and look for a lighter alternative, every time I have called Obi, they told me different things. First they told me they don't know if I can return it in the store. They they told me I can. I drove for 40 minutes to the store where they told me I can't. But the item will be collected from my home. So I drove back and marked the item as a return online. And... surprise, no collection information in the email and when I called them again, they told me nobody is going to collect it so I have to bring it to a post office myself. Honestly, this sort of service in Germany? I have no words.

Super Service
Nice products but not so nice shipping
I have ordered several of these boxes. The products themselves are nice, however, I am not satisfied with the way it was delivered. Each box was packaged in a rather big cardboard box and arrived separately over one week period. I find it inconvinient. Also, a few the boxes got cancelled due to unavailability, after several days of waiting for the shipping.

All packages came without notice and therefore where deliver to a packet shop. I am not able to walk so need to pay a car to pick up.

Have used the pick up service repeatedly, Obi is very fast in preparing the order.
The material I was looking was not available in the initial big pack I ordered, however the manager arranged more me at no extra cost, smaller packs of the same quantity. Well done.
