AVOID THIS COMPANY!

AVOID THIS COMPANY!! I sued this company. My hearing date was 12th January 2023. I subsequently sold my house, so could no longer continue with my claim.  I had 3 laminated toughened glass worktops fitted 3 years ago. The glass was supposedly 'strong & durable' and could withstand a full tin of beans or saucepan being dropped on them. They even claim on their website how 'durable" their glass is. From the first time they came to template, was the beginning of my nightmare. THREE TIMES they measured incorrectly. Rather than admit their incompetence, they tried to blame my kitchen fitter TWICE for their errors, when in fact their templaters kept asking HIM how to measure properly.  I had mirrored splash backs which they did not take into account. Less than 2 years after installation, a cup fell from my hand and landed on the shorter length worktop. It shattered and shards of glass protruded upwards. The cup did NOT break, it chipped. I called this company and told them what happened. I spoke to Charles whose response was "well it's glass and it's not unbreakable". Im fully aware of that, but this was a china cup, NOT a breezeblock. They reluctantly agreed to replace it. It transpired there was a weakness in the glass as it had not been fitted correctly in the first instance, and it was bowed. It was only a matter of time. Ross, the owner, came out with a young chap to fit a replacement. Ross is the most arrogant, ill- mannered man who swears, berates & belittles his staff when in your property. He constantly complains how tired & busy he is. Very unprofessional. I cautioned him about his language on a couple of occasions. Ross has the ability to make you feel you're wasting his time and causing HIM grief, when it was his product and shoddy workmanship that caused the problems. These worktops cost a lot of money. The replacement did not fit and RUN UPHILL, nor did it reach the end wall so they packed it out with filler to make it fit. There was a huge gap between the worktop and drawers it was supposed to sit on. It did not sit flush. The worktop was so uneven I could fit a small booklet in between the spirit level and the worktop. All pictures are included in this review. Ross's suggestion to remedy this was to fill the gap with silicone and a wedged shape piece of coloured wood! The wood would remain in situ when the bottom drawers were opened!! Ross tried to blame my kitchen fitter AGAIN saying the carcasses were uneven. Another lie!! My kitchen fitter came out, took pictures of the drawers. Pictures 1&2. It can clearly be seen how dead level they are. Ross will blame everyone and anyone for his incompetence and shoddy workmanship. They lifted the larger worktop which left a  'step' where the two worktops did not connect together. They stuffed packers underneath. They cut and removed a segment of my undercounter lights, along with wires connected to a main electrical junction box, which housed the undercounter and cupboard lights. When questioned, they denied all knowledge and said they had done neither.  When they left, I found the lights and cut wires wrapped in a kitchen towel in the bin. Absolute LIARS. I refused to allow Ross or any member of his unqualified staff back into my property and requested a refund. They refused and I issued proceedings. They were not qualified or experts in fitting glass worktops.  Ross admitted in his court papers, the chap that fitted the worktop was not qualified to answer questions why it shattered. I would not want anyone else to go through this, I lost a lot of money and it caused a huge amount of stress which led to illness. DO NOT USE OBJECTS IN GLASS. Save your money and use a reputable, qualified company who know how to fit bespoke glass worktops. I was fooled by their reviews and stupidly used a local company thinking I was supporting small businesses in my area. To see all photos please go to Google Maps, Angela Levitt

What a pleasurable company to deal…

What a pleasurable company to deal with!! From the moment i called to enquire about one of their splashback designs to the moment the installers placed the last piece of glass to my kitchen was a 10/10 experience.

when me and my wife got a quotation off these guys we initially thought it was expensive, but then we shopped around and realised that not only do Objects In Glass have the best product on the market, they are the best priced as well.

Our new kitchen splashback makes our kitchen look 10times better and when we have friends and family around they all comment on it. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone.

Fantastic products and service.

I was recommended Objects in Glass by a friend who had used them. Their showroom was a bit out of my way in Harlow, compared to other companies closer to us but their product range appeared to be unique based on my browsing of their website and seeing their product in my friends home. I firstly got a quote from them over email so I could compare with quotes I had from other companies, that in itself showed me it was at a similar price point but more to my liking in terms of designs and colours available. We made an appointment to visit the showroom and from that moment on I received fantastic service, I left knowing this is the company I would move forward with. They had a fantastic selection of unique designs splash backs and Dylan was very attentive and knowledgeable and answered all my questions, we left with 3 samples free of charge, other companies had wanted to charge for samples.

We placed an order after picking one of the products from the samples we had and it was a really smooth process, with an online payment portal. Dylan kept me informed throughout about timelines and expected dates. The templating was done soon after the order was placed, some issues cropped up with the levelling of our kitchen units but they were handled brilliantly.

The product was installed a couple of weeks later, there were 3 pieces to my order and one piece wasn't quite right, the service was amazing, the installers said they would have it remade to my satisfaction. Again, I was kept informed throughout from the time they left to the time the replacement piece was installed.

My splashback is fully installed now and we've received so many compliments on it. I cannot recommend this company enough, the splashback turned out to be better priced then alternative options I'd seen and the design is very unique, but more then anything this is a company that puts customer service at the forefront and really delivers. Thank you.

Seriously Cool

Met Dylan and the team at Grand Designs exhibition where their completely unique solution to backsplashes really impressed. On the stand they were so helpful and from there we received several samples - their patience as we changed our minds was much appreciated...sadly there is just too much choice.
Once we had decided they came to measure up and fit in less than 2 weeks and the result is truly stunning. Everyone comments. Their stuff really is just "cool".
Highly highly recommendded!
