Blisters from flimsy leather, hidden VAT fees, and a completely dismissive customer service
I bought 2 pairs of the Lily espadrilles directly from their site: the Lily Tan Leather Mid Wedge (€143 on Sales from €285) and the Lily Gold Leather High Wedge (€148 on sale from €295) on Sales. While the design aesthetic is undeniably beautiful, the actual wearability, billing practices, and customer care are completely unacceptable.
For a brand positioning itself at a premium tier, the physical quality is a massive letdown. The leather is real but incredibly flimsy. Worst of all, the construction at the back rubs violently against the skin, causing severe blisters to the point where I cannot wear them without layers of bandages.
To make matters worse, the Odissì Studio checkout screen explicitly advertised "0 Tax" when I finalized my order. Because of this, I was blindsided when my package was held up and I was forced to pay an unexpected £106 in import VAT and fees out of pocket AFTER I received my shoes.
When I contacted their customer service department to ask them to reimburse the £106 difference or offer a free pair to make up for this deceptive pricing, they flatly refused. They simply copy-pasted a line from their website stating: "As clearly stated in our shipping policy on our website, any customs duties and import taxes are always the responsibility of the customer."
It is incredibly disingenuous to display "0 Tax" at checkout to secure a sale, only to hide behind a generic policy page when the customer gets hit with over a hundred pounds in hidden fees.
Deceptive billing combined with painful shoes that actively injure your feet makes it impossible to recommend this brand. Save your money.
