ÖBB sets low standards, which they consistently fail to deliver, at least in Land Salzburg. If you believe their disingenuous 94%-on-time-performance prattle, then all of the other 6% occurs here. Pla... See more

I despise OEBB
I despise OEBB. I was looking into booking Munich to Budapest and mistakenly booked salzburg to Budapest. Their website is very confusing. I emailed them right away like 2 minutes after the booking as soon as I got the confirmation email. I really thought I was booking Munich to Budapest.. why would you even give me options to book salzburg to Budapest?
They didn't respond of course until 2 weeks later. Just to tell me that my tickets can't be refunded. I won't recommend them at all to anyone.
Scammed by ÖBB
Scammed by ÖBB
I had tickets worth 260 euro for ÖBBs nighttrain from Innsbruck to Hamburg. The day before departure, I called their customer service about the possibility of cancelling the tickets and get a refund. Their customer service representative clearly and unmistakably told me, that I could a full refund. Although the type of tickets I had were usually non-refundable, she could refund them due to a note that one of her colleagues had made in my booking relating to a previous correspondence. So I asked her to cancel the tickets and she told me she now had. So far, so good. A few days later – after the train had taken its journey without me or my family on it – ÖBB wrote to inform me that they wasn’t going to give me the refund after all.
And so I didn’t get to use the tickets I had and I didn’t get the refund I was clearly promised. Straightout scammed by ÖBB.

Tried to book 2 adults and 2 children on a nightjet from Hamburg to Innsbruck with a car. Impossible online. Called the customer service center in Vienna. After 17 minutes of waiting for an English speaking clerk, we ended up with......nothing.
A few weeks later, some colleagues tried an identical booking. They experienced the same disorder.
It was not that difficult with DB, at the time they had the autozug service.
