Horrible Service and Corporate
They've lost another customer.
Bought a $450 HP laptop ( on sale from $520) online in May. Turned out to be a lemon. So I returned it at my local store. Well the refund didn't go through right, as the Mgr on-duty, training a new worker, had issues scanning the simple barcodes on the box AND my online purchase receipt. Finally, they hand me a tiny slip that looked like it was printed off an old Dot Matrix. And stated it would be about 7-10 days, instead of the normal 2-3, because the warehouse was now handling returns. Well, after 5 business days, no refund credited. Nor any email follow-up. I called the store, and they stated they couldn't help me, because it was an online issue... So I contacted the HQ support. They too, repeated the 7- 10 days. WHICH obviously had passed. They asked me to "wait" another 5 days. STILL no refund. Called them again, and they said they would 'look into it, and follow up'. It's now been 30 days with no refund. It took me contacting the BBB to get my money refunded. I am so done with them, it ain't funny.
Customer service was never that great…
Customer service was never that great at any Office Depot locations. But recently after the pandemic their customer service is non existent. They are hiring Indians who are very rude and impolite to the customers and most of the time says products are out of stock without even checking first. They have horrible staff training as all the employees at the store could care less about any "service". They are just there to get paid for doing nothing. Amazon will soon squash Office Depot if things go on like the way they are now.
Purchased Brother laser printer online…
Purchased Brother laser printer online to replace the one that had quit. Printer would not print out of the box, hardware code 01. Not Office Depot fault but trying to return it is. They will not respond to secure messages sent regarding this on their site. Will not answer phone at customer service. Ill probably end up disputing the transaction. Good luck, Im done with them.
AT&T has better customer service
After patiently waiting for 2 weeks to receive furniture purchased from Officedepot, I decided to try to track down my order. After at least an hour on hold this morning, no one ever responded. This afternoon we tried to track down the furniture at the local Office Depot. Richard, the sales associate, did his best to help us to no avail. After sitting in the office furniture section for nearly two hours on hold (and couple from me in the store), we discovered that @Officedepot never shipped the order. The carrier says they never received it and OfficeDepot says it’s been delivered. All in all basically OfficeDepot said they are doing nothing about the situation. If we are still unsatisfied we are welcome to call back and be placed on hold for two more hours. Stay far, far, far away from OfficeDepot
Poor service
I received a call and then a text at 5:57p telling me my order was ready for pickup. I go to pick it up, arriving at 6:03p and find out that they closed at 6p because of Memorial Day. I call the store and ask the guy why they didn't mention that when they called me so I didn't waste a trip. He kept explaining it was Memorial Day without seeming to understand that I understood that - it just would've been nice to be told, considering I'd spoken to them 5 minutes earlier. Good service = them telling me that I could pick my order up the next day, as they closed in a few minutes. Stellar service = them bringing the order to the door when I called to eliminate my needing to make a second trip. This was neither.
I wanted to buy a case of copy paper
I wanted to buy a case of copy paper. Tried to apply discount coupon (30% off) on-line, but would not allow me to do - saying not a qualifying item. Item was on sale for $49.99; nowheres in advertisement or exclusion section of coupon was it stated - does not apply to sales item.
Then for next 3 days I received emails from OD requesting I consider ordering this item. Again same results. When I finally called to talk to a rep, I see it is no longer on sale. Told by rep that reason coupon not usable previously because was on sale at time so an exclusion. I understand that they have exclusions including on sales items. But when this is the case it is stated in writing. Wasted bunch of time on this.

When I was confused he said I could come any tine for advise. I even brought back both my computer and new printer. Very knowable Would recommend this gentlemen highly
Beware of Office Depot
This review is for the Abilene, TX store on Buffalo Gap Rd. Would give 0 if possible. I have spent $1,000's over the past years at this business. No more. Went in 5/16/2022 and looked at computers. As normal, they did not have a business use computer with Win10 Pro or WIN 11 Pro. At that time I ordered a new computer and told the sales associate that I needed a PDF editor for the new computer. He was very aware that the new computer has Windows 11 NOT Win 10. He picked out TurboPDF v3. I received the computer by UPS late on 5/18/22. I got the computer up and running without issue on 5/19/2022. I did the updates and installed other software in addition to the TurboPDF v3. I then called to activate the TurboPDF v3 and was told by IMSI Design, sales support that the v3 is not supported by WIN 11 Pro and I should return to Office Depot. I tried to return and Office Depot said that they would not accept the return since it was opened. I understand their argument but it was their sales associate that recommended the wrong software at the time I purchased a new computer and the software has not been activated. Guess they do not need my business. Their loss. I will no longer purchase toner, printers, computers or any other items from them or their sister store OfficeMAX. Beware of their sales support or lack thereof.
Not human and NO feelings
It has been SO disappointing to realize that you spend greater than $600 on products and get only $2 back in rewards! Tried to reach a human on customer service to inquire about this and only connection was to a computer that terminated the call when I didn't "fit" in the dialogue. I am fiercely loyal, but NOT to automation. I guess I must take my future business to people who care!
They helped me find just what I needed for my project.
As soon as I walked in Dale asked if I needed help finding something. He guided me to where I could find my item in such a funny, friendly way, I was laughing the whole time. I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for but he helped me find something that will work perfectly for my project. He saved me.

i took my computer in for repair, they told me it should be looked at within 3 days. phoned them a week and a half later, they said i declined to get it fixed, i said no. 2 1/2 weeks later got a call $511 for repair, i said okay. one month later it got back to store was $560. and they lost my charger, they gave me a aftermarket. 3 1/2 weeks later hard drive was gone, went there, they said no warranty would have to pay again. i left and took somewhere else.

No wonder Office Depot is having trouble……the store in brooksville fl is filthy the floor hasn’t been cleaned or waxed for a long time. The store looks like it is going out of business….low product and lack of staff.

Completely ridiculous
Completely ridiculous! I ordered 4 items, received 3 correct and one incorrect. Called 1800 to ask what to do in these situations. They treat this as a "return" meaning I was to print labels and drop the package off, etc. I also had to place new order - only this time no rewards could be applied (all used on the original order) and wanted to charge me "small handling fee" ($9) for ordering only one item. Of course, I cancelled it all. Instead of fixing their error, they tried to make additional dollar out of the situation! WOW! This company is RIDICULOUS!
POOR MANAGEMENT
Office Depots customer service sucks will tell you anything to get you off the phone. Waiting three days for a return call. Thank you, Lea, and Mary no help whatsoever. Office Depot is trying to charge me three more times for my yearly Technical Support (which is great) Customer Service can't even get ahold of Billing on the phone Lea, and Mary tells me they will call me back. HA! HA!HA! Will I get the Technical Support next year----I'll call them if I get around to it!!!!!
Delivery staff does not follow instructions!!
If I didn't HAVE to order supplies from you for my company, I would go elsewhere. Every single time you manage to screw up my order, do not follow instructions on calling to get into the building, and just leave my order in an unattended mailroom for a 12 story office building. No wonder you have such terrible reviews on here - it is well deserved. Terrible service, terrible customer service when I called about this. No supervisors available to call me. Monday I start lobbying for my company to switch vendors.
THEY LIE
THEY LIE! delivery resulted in spilled paint on my driveway. After long "battle", OD agreed to give me a full refund and told me I would have to deal with UPS on the driveway damage. UPS refused to help because I could not provide video proof that their driver did the damage. Then, OD decided to reverse the credit refund on me. WHen I called, they claimed that it was UPS responsibility, not theirs. Stay away from this lying two-faced chain.
