Tail wagging the dog

Ofwat is totally out of order with its customers, I complained about the April price increase with Seven Trent Water, the increase of 10.25% fell on greedy ears, I am a pensioner with a 3% rise increase to the state pension, they didn't won't to know. It's these sort of companies that feed inflation, they should be ashamed. Ofwat do nothing....

The Regulator is definitely the MAIN problem

Response from Thames Water is:
I'd like understand more about the times you've contacted us though and I've requested more information so we can look into this for you. Thanks.

The problem is evidently clear that Thames Water categorically agreed not to fit a water meter to my property (it is written in their notes on my account!) and reimburse me £100 for the inconvenience caused, they have the recordings but now it appears I have been misled, why? Because Thames Water have a shoddy customer service, or it is based on another solar system with no communication to Earth would be a better description. Are the useless directors & CEO reading the Trustpilot messages, if so it means they simply do not care hence the 89% bad rating.

I read many of the posts and the response from Thames Water is the same about wanting more information, etc. The information is already in their notes on my account.

The whole point of water meters is money, money, money & nothing else - it is a private company, they have two goals, to pay less tax (hence involvement in Tax Havens) & profit - it certainly cannot be better customer service as from the 89% bad reviews Thames Water definitely cannot have a service to make things better.

THE REGULATOR IS DEFINITELY THE MAIN PROBLEM!

The following are my personal opinion of the bad service Thames Water delivers & repeatedly able to get away with it –

How is Thames Water able to deliver a, not poor, but a really bad service with over 89% bad review? The problem is the Regulator, OFWAT, allowing this to happen. Why has not the Regulator the power to stop bonuses and salary increases of directors, CEO and top officials taking place until customer review is above average rather than well below average, like now? It implies to me the Regulator must be involved with the privatised Water companies, just like HMRC top officials with the top auditor firms, banks, etc so that these big business can get away pay low tax (many cases less than a nurse pays percentage-wise of income) in return for a cushy job at these big businesses after they leave the Regulator role — the revolving door. So that is my suspicion with the water Regulator, OFWAT - no interest in customers whatsoever as they have a poor rating on Trustpilot too!
The Tories must of thought of this at the start and made necessary adjustments so their rich friends can get away without being scrutinised, otherwise why aren’t top official bonuses/salaries cut and pay rises halted? The intention must have been so that the money gets through to the few unhindered at the cost of the many. It is friends looking after their friends, so don't be fooled when they state your vote counts, as policies are already pre-decided by 0.2% of the population - the lobbyists funding the parties.
Why can't dividends be clawed back for Thames Water dumping untreated sewage in rivers?

IT APPEARS THE BEST & ONLY SOLUTION FOR THE MANY IS RE-NATIONALISATION OF THE WATER INDUSTRY.

Please write and pressurise your MP to re-nationalise the water industry as it is a monopoly and you cannot select who supplies your water!

If you have any complaints about Thames Water and other water companies and they have not resolved it within 10 days please write to the Regulator so that official complaints about Thames Water & others keep building up, only that way things will get addressed.

IF YOU HAD MORE THAN ONE BAD EXPERIENCES WITH THAMES WATER PLEASE POST THEM INDIVIDUALLY WITH THE APPROPRIATE SCORE. IF IT TURNS OUT TO GET WORSE THE MESSAGE WILL GET TO THE MEDIA TO PRESSURISE THAMES WATER.

Another way to re-nationalise the bad performing privatised water companies is to stop voting Tory, the prime cause.

The regulator is not doing enough

I had a disappointing experience with Southern Water but cannot take my custom elsewhere because there is no choice of supplier. I'm not alone, Southern Water has many bad reviews here on trustpilot.

Because there is no choice, it is the regulator's fault that the service is inadequate. They are the only people who can hold a water company to account.

I looked at trustpilot reviews for each water company. Below are the results as of 24/02/2021.

With the exception of Wessex Water, most customers are dissatisfied with their water company.

Where is Ofwat? Why are you not fixing this?

Ofwat's statutory duty is to protect the interests of consumers. Judging by customer satisfaction, Ofwat is not doing their job,

Southern Water Reviews 136 1.8 stars: "Poor"
Thameswater Reviews 694 1.4 stars: "Bad"
Anglian Water Reviews 181 3.3 stars: "Average"
Severn Trent Reviews 183 2.6 stars: "Poor"
United Utilities Reviews 326 3.0 stars: "Average"
Wessex Water Reviews 4258 4.7 stars: "Excellent"
Yorkshire Water Reviews 130 2.7 stars: "Poor"

(I excluded water companies with too few reviews to reliably assess)
