Love our Cubby!

Love our Cubby!

We found Old Boot online and I can say that in our experience the whole process was faultless, from meeting Emma in the store to getting regular updates and then the delivery, while it was tricky to fit in, was great. Finally our new sofa is absolutely stunning, we love it. We will be back soon for a footstool as soon as we have time to come to see you again.

Second of many orders

Just received my second order from Old Boot and couldn’t be happier, it’s absolutely perfect and everything I knew it would be. The team were brilliant, so knowledgeable and couldn’t have helped more. Thank you, I’ll be back for another chair soon!

Well worth the trip

We made the trip up from Cornwall and combined a wonderful holiday in the Peak District with a visit to Old Boots showroom. The staff were wonderful, so helpful and we chose a Battersea 3 seater sofa in Shabby Prussian velvet, we took delivery this morning and couldn’t be happier, the craftsmanship is perfect and it is so comfy. We could not be happier, thanks to all at Old Boot

Terrible Customer Service

Bought a sofa from them at the end of 2025. 2 days after delivery, we noticed the zip on one of the seat cushions was broken.

Old Boots customer service dealing with this was terrible. Rudeness, suggesting warranty wouldn’t cover it because it was ex display, which it wasn’t, as it wasn’t available to view in the showroom when we visited. They said they’d do us “a favour” and send someone out, like we’d damaged it in two days of ownership.

Their own independent expert that came to view said it was overstuffed in production, which Old Boot then went against. Disagreeing with their own assessor, suggesting again maybe we broke it in 2 days.

They said they couldn’t repair a zip in situation and needed to send it to them, with no estimate on how long it would be gone, which is unreasonable.

We then called a local upholsterer who fixed it here, in less than 30 minutes, for £65, which Old Boot refused to compensate us for.

This is the 3rd sofa we have bought from Old Boot, and we have recommended them to many others. We won’t be doing either again.

Dear Alex & Claire,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review the contents of which we do strongly dispute, as you are aware, therefore we feel we need to set out the facts of recent order.

You visited our showroom on 22nd Nov & ordered an ex-display, heavily discounted sofa, whilst the sofa was not on display you were able to view full details on our website whilst in the showroom.

When placing your order we provided an order confirmation which clearly stated:
"OUTLET-1YR-GUARANTEE OUTLET: 1 year structural guarantee included for all items on this sales order COVER INCLUDES: Frame, springing and foam padding. EXCLUDES: Leather or Fabric covering."

All our outlet pieces are sold with this guarantee and we have been clear with this from the point of order. The issue you reported would not normally be covered however as gesture we have done our best to resolve this and have offered options for repair free of charge.

As you were in the process of moving house you requested delivery be delayed slightly & asked for delivery after 15th Dec. You chased delivery on 12th Dec and after confirming you were ready earlier than originally anticipated we arranged delivery for the following day - 13th Dec.

You mention that you noticed the broken zip within 2 days of delivery however the broken zip was not reported to us until 31st December at 10.10pm, a full 18 days after delivery. We responded as soon as the business reopened on 2nd Jan and offered to have it repaired free of charge as a gesture of goodwill. You agreed to this however our third party engineer was unable to repair the zip onsite. Our engineer reported that the issue was due to a damaged tooth on the zip and did not mention any overstuffing. As an onsite repair was not possible we immediately offered an alternative of collecting the damaged cover from you, to return it to the workshop for repair then returning it to you. You state that we did not provide a time estimate on the repair however we did confirm in our email of 26th January: "Are you able to package the cushion cover up for us? If so I can book a collection in for Thursday or next Tuesday if that is more convenient? All being well it will arrive with the workshop on Friday/Wednesday (depending on collection). They will action the replacement zip as soon as possible next week/early the following (again depending on when it is collected) and they will be replacing the infill as well so a complete cushion will be returned to you."

You state we have accused you of damaging the sofa however in our email of 19th January we were at pains to say that we were not accusing you of damaging the sofa, we have never stated this in any of our emails or correspondence, merely confirmed that when it was taken from display it did not have a damaged zip as this would have been repaired prior to being offered for sale.

You say we have refused to compensate you for the repair you have actioned. To confirm we were only made aware of this repair when chasing you to action our offer on 11th February, your reply stated "I have found an upholster who is coming to my house to fix the zip in situ. Best wishes".

There was no mention of Old Boot contributing to this repair until you emailed on 18th Feb stating: "I would appreciate you considering refunding me this money. Not only will I not purchase from your company again I will make sure I share the news of this poor customer aftercare to my friends a family."

Our reply on 19th Feb requested a copy of the repair invoice & offered to cover half the cost of this repair.

We do believe we have done all we can to try and help you with this issue even though under the terms of the sale we were under no obligation to. We are truly sorry if you feel let down or disappointed by efforts we do work exceptionally hard as small independent business to provide the best service we can. We have reached out to you again prior to this review being left but have had no reply to date.

This is the second time I have…

This is the second time I have purchased from Old Boot. Just like last time, from initial phone call through to yesterday's delivery, Zoe, Kerry and all at Old Boot have delivered first class customer service. With this purchase I added a matching footstool to my previously purchased leather armchairs: the quality of each item is fantastic. I am looking forward to putting my feet up over Christmas in front of the TV. Thank you to all at Old Boot for delivering before the festive holiday and thanks also for another masterclass in customer care!

Buying a sofa from Old Boot Sofas was a joy

Buying a sofa was a great experience. I was welcomed to a well-stocked showroom by Zoe who gave me all the space I needed to wander, test out and compare. I asked for her help in making a decision about size, fabric and colour, and she was engaging, thoughtful and supportive throughout the process. I left the showroom 20 minutes later having made an excellent purchase throughout which I felt supported and never pressured. Two months to the day later the sofa has arrived and it is perfect for my space and decor, not to mention being of outstanding quality in terms of construction and materials.

Lovely Hepburn Chair !

On 5.6.25 I received my sofas

On 5.6.25 I received my sofas, they were ordered in August 2023! First sofas received from Old Boot were the wrong design, 2nd lot received were the wrong size and 3rd time they were the wrong colour!! Finally got sofas I ordered almost 2 years after I had paid for them. Zoe has apologised for the mistakes on several occasions but in my opinion it was up to the Workshop Manager to phone and explain, something he never did, only apologised via Zoe.

Sofas are so far as I can see are good quality but I would never recommend this company.

Gorgeous sofa

Delivery was quicker than I expected, the Sofa is great, delivery at 6 am on a Sunday morning a bit bright and early but delivery men apologetic and helpful. The colour is even nicer than it looked on the swatch and the workmanship is great. It is a little firmer than I was expecting and with its feet, slightly higher but it looks lovely and I am very pleased with it.

It's been a pleasure to deal with Old…

It's been a pleasure to deal with Old Boot sofas from start to delivery. Very helpful sales team explaining the types of leather and styles, supporting us with our choice.

The sofa is of a very high quality and as they say, "as comfortable as an old boot". I can't fault anything about this small company from sales, style to quality it's been exceptionally high standard, a total pleasure and I would advise anybody to check them out first before you go to the big branded outlets.

Absolutely Terrible and Misleading Service

Dear Sir/Madam,

Order no. xxxxxx

After taking legal guidance, I have been advised to send you the following –

On 16th March 2024, I placed the above order with you for 2 Urbanite sofas in rustic brown leather. The sofas have still not been delivered.

At the point that I placed the order a confirmation email was received, sent by you, advising my order would arrive in 12 – 14 weeks even though your website indicates a lead time of 8 – 10 weeks delivery.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you are required to deliver the sofas to me within the timescales agreed. As I have still not received the sofas and it is past the agreed time, I believe you are in breach of contract.

In accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 I am giving you a final opportunity to deliver the goods. Allowing for the problems encountered by your preferred delivery partner, ASB Delivery Services Ltd. and the fact I would prefer the sofas, rather than a full refund, you have a further 7 days to complete the delivery of the sofas.

If you do not deliver the 2 Urbanite sofas in rustic brown leather by 10th July 2024, I will be entitled to consider our contract at an end and will expect you to refund me the full purchase price of £xxxx.

One of the many reasons I had to send such an email was because I contacted the delivery service Old Boot uses and they had never heard of me or my order. Apparently IT problems but didn't allay my fears I had been scammed out of thousands of pounds. The email had the desired affect and the sofas were delivered on 6th of July. But the misery didn't stop there! They forgot to send the feet! After nearly 2 weeks and several emails I still do not have the feet. I had to buy my own feet and drill bits to fit them myself. And to rub salt in the wound they are not even that comfortable. This whole episode has left me devastated.

Let me address the points raised in the Old Boot reply -
The email dated 11th stated the sofas were ready for delivery but may take up to 21 WORKING days so another 4 weeks!
The response to my 'legal' email from Old Boot was not immediate, even so, had I not sent it would I have been given a delivery date sooner rather than later?
The reason I left this review before contacting Old Boot is I felt yet another email to Old Boot would be a waste of time and would exacerbate the stress and anxiety caused in dealing with this company.

We did receive your email of 3rd July and responded to you immediately, delivery was completed on Saturday 6th July within the time scale originally provided for delivery in our email of 11th June.

I am sorry that the feet were not delivered with your order, this was an error on our workshops part, as soon as we were made aware of this my colleague arranged immediate shipping of these and provided the tracking details. On checking I can see these have been collected however they appear to still be with the courier for which I can only apologise, as we had not heard from you since the tracking details were provided we were unaware of this.

I am sorry you are finding the sofas uncomfortable, if you would like to email us details of your concerns to help@oldbootsofaa.com we would be delighted to address these for you.

Great recommendation

A friend recommended I visit the Boot Room in Matlock when the time came to replace my beloved Chesterfield sofa, Emma was so helpful and talked me through the various Chesterfield sofas they offer and helped me choose the perfect Industria Buckskin leather, my Judge sofa arrived last week and I am thrilled, it is the perfect replacement for my 20 year old sofa which I never thought I’d find. Thank you so much Emma and the team for all your help

I love my new sofa!

I love my new Hepburn sofa and really can’t fault my experience with Old Boot. I was struggling to decide between two different fabrics and this was a big investment for me so I wanted to get it right. The Old Boot staff were great, not pushy at all and actually urged me to go home (before ordering) and see what the samples looked like in my own home. I'm so glad I did as I actually ended up going for my second choice fabric! Now my sofa is here I’m over the moon! It’s finished my front room off perfectly and looks amazing! Definitely worth the wait.

Excellent treatment in the showroom…

Excellent treatment in the showroom when choosing my sofa. Katherine was so helpful. You could almost say there was too much choice. Decided on an Alfie in a beautiful charcoal leather and couldn't resist a footstool in a stunning burgundy velvet. Can't wait to receive the order.

We visited the gorgeous Matlock showroom and the team could not have been more helpful, we ordered a Gaffer sofa which was delivered yesterday and it's perfect, so comfortable and just as we’d hoped for. A massive thanks to all at Old Boot, we’ll definitely be back!

Went to the showroom on a whim

Went to the showroom on a whim, so glad I did, tucked away in the Peak District town of Matlock it is in a lovely location, the showroom itself is a great place to visit and get ideas.
I ended up purchasing a 3 seater Howard which arrived today.... I am in ❤ exactly as I imagined
Overall fantastic service, thank you so much.

Do not waste your time or money!!

Update - chair received (once this review appeared, shame it took this to spur them into action!)
They've since attempted to bribe me with either a free footstool or a voucher to alter my review, I've declined)

'I've been called today by ASB & they claim they haven't got my chair from you as it's not ready for collection yet.
Whats going on??!'

June 13th -
'They have had a number of the team on annual leave and also some van breakdowns so I think it has been a combination of things which has delayed delivery slightly, I can only apologise for this.'

14th May -
'I am pleased to confirm that your order is due to be released next week and we have passed your details over to our third party delivery company, ASB Deliveries.

Do not waste your time or money dealing with this company!! Complete scammers!
Placed an order for a chair on 17th January, paid in full. Notified on 14th May my order was completed & was due to be released the following week. I've chased & chased but still no chair. ASB delivery service confirmed today they haven't even collected the chair , yet I was told delivery was going to be today!
I've tried to call on numerous occasions but no one answers.
They provide lip service only via email, appalling!!
