Review of On Electrical Contractors Limited (ON-EC) in Hyde
I am completely surprised a business can treat its business customers like the way they have treated us. We were looking for PAT testing for our business in Stockport. On-Ec, by chance were carrying out PAT testing for a local business and I mentioned to the engineer that we were looking for the same service. A few days later, Mark Wilde popped in to speak with us. We verbally agreed that the charge would an hourly rate per hour for the work. I specifically asked him if there were any extra charges added on top of this cost, I was told there was not. Mark did mention something about the engineer traveling from the Trafford Centre prior to our job, however it was not made clear that we would be paying for travel time. If they intended on billing us for 2 and a half hours of travel time, this should have been made very clear to us before the work was carried out and not afterwards, as we would not have asked them to do the work.
Ryan, their engineer came to carry out the PAT testing. We were very happy with Ryan's work and found Ryan to be very professional when carrying out his work. Ryan arrived with us at 11:40am and left our premises at 15:49 and took a 34 minute lunch break (Times from CCTV logs). He was on site for 3 hours and 35 minutes in total and PAT tested 67 items in total.
A few days later we received an invoice from On-Ec for a total of 6 hours, which was just short of billing us for an extra 2 and a half hours. I queried this and received a call back from Mark, who said they would agree to knock off one hour. This is still a bill of 5 hours when the work carried out only took 3 and 35 minutes. I can understand being billed for a little traveling time or indeed the timings being rounded up a little, but they did try and chance it by sending an invoice for 6 hours at our agreed rate in the hope we would just pay their invoice.
Since we have been trading (over 6 years), this is the first time I have had to write a bad review of a company, as most of the companies we deal with are honest and true to their word. I don't link writing bad review on companies as we are a small business our-self and I understand how bad reviews can affect businesses, however I write this as a warning to future customers of On-Ec to check their invoices and to make sure they agree terms of business in WRITING and double check travel time costs, before accepting their work as a verbal agreement is worth nothing with these guys - Be warned.
