Lovely shop with lovely staff
This is a lovely shop selling beautiful shoes for your little ones.
The staff are attentive, friendly and professional. I would recommend One Small Step to anyone, it's well worth a trip to Buxton!
A Lovely local independent shop
It's exceeding your service expectations that makes you return to a shop again and again... Toys for the kids to play with, being recognised as a previous customer, natural conversation and great product knowledge all make me want to return. My little girls was delighted with her new shoes ( not taken them off her feet yet!) as well as the little free gift which was a lovely touch also. Will be back soon!
A hidden gem!
One Small Step stocks a gorgeous range of footwear and associated products for children. We bought our little grandson some wellies and a matching raincoat, which he adores! The shop felt warm and welcoming, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were very impressed!

It is always a pleasure to visit (despite the cost!!). The service is always friendly, the shoes are always good quality and after-sales service is excellent.
Good little independent shop.

I WILL RETURN
We visited One Small Step for my sons school shoes as the High Street Stores in the area had either poor quality or very limited choice to choose from..
The service was professional but most importantly " friendly", we received good advice on the ranges & options available and was therefore able to purchase a good quality product that looks great.
We will return for future purchases.
Excellent
I was out for a walk with my husband and two children when I suggessted my son could do with some new shoes, we were near one small step so we decided to go in. As soon as we went in I was very impressed, the shop had beautiful displays and we received a very warm welcome. The lady in the sho asked if she could help - asking if we needed any feet measuring. I said it was just my son but she was more than happy to measure my daughters feet aswell. The whole experience was enjoyable. There was a good selection of boys shoes aswell as girls. I am looking forward to taking my daughter for her next pair of shoes. I will definately be using this shop for all my future purchases. Thank you.
Happy Boots...Happy Child...Happy Mum!!!
Needed new boots for my 8 year old daughter. One small step had a good selection available to chose from and once we got it down to 2 different pairs (one I liked & one she liked) we were not rushed to make a decision even though it was near closing time.
Thanks ever so much and we will definitely go back again.
A visit to remember!
Perfect little shop, so helpful and toys for the kids to be entertained even offered to stay open later for me... Couldn't be Any more helpful and polite Thanku Daisy-dee loves her new shoes and slippers x
Great choice of shoes better quality than Clarks.
Lovely shop with toys for little ones. Very friendly service, lots of different shoes. Unsure though why the sales lady only got out one pair at a time in the meassured size to look at. This made the whole process take a litlle longer than I would have liked. Would definitely recommend to my friends and others though!
Very thorough!
I found it a pleasure rather than a chore to take my children shoe shopping at One Small Step. The service was relaxed yet professional! Wide choice of high quality shoes at a very reasonable price .
They even thought of providing toys for the children if they were bored!
The only down fall is that you will have trouble persuading your winkles it's time to leave!
My boys always want to pop in when passing! :-)
friendly,helpful,good selection,
This is the way shoe shopping for children should be,great selection of high quality shoes boots Tec,well well worth a visit and much better than accepting the terrible high street selection of shoes for children .
first class, shoes and service.
We are so lucky that someone has finally opened a good children,s shoe shop in Buxton. The shoes are really good quality, really attractive and Nichola knows her stuff and will make sure your child comes out with a well fitting pair of shoes. Oh and the prices are really reasonable too.
brilliant! friendly, helpful and accurate!
Lovely, helpful, patient staff. They know what they're talking about. Lovely range of footwear. Recommend to everyone!
Professional, friendly and personal service.
One Small Step is an independent shoe retailer of childrens shoes selling unusual brands not found in the regular high street. We bought some Spotty Otter fleece lined wellies that my daughter loves. The service was friendly and personal. I will be recomending the shop to my friends and will be calling back for some school shoes very soon.
Excellent service
The lady is very warm and friendly and professional. She understands that design is a big feature in my selection of shoes and also budget is a problem for me and caters the selection of shoes with this in mind.
excellent!!!
One Small Step is a wonderful shop. very good choice of shoes. The lady who runs the shop is very friendly and provides excellent customer service. she treats you as a friend rather than just another customer.
