Opal key resort and marina verbal abuse no accountability
On August 20, 2025, I was verbally abused and threatened by two marina staff while returning a golf cart at Opal Key Resort & Marina in Key West. One staff member called me “retarded,” falsely accused me of “plowing through pedestrians,” and shouted over me to “shut up” while saying he didn’t care. This happened in front of my disabled mother (multiple surgeries), my elderly grandmother, and a 17-month-old child.
The only signage referenced was a small white board with pale blue letters — easy to miss, especially for someone partially color-blind. Instead of professionalism, I was met with hostility and intimidation.
I reported this directly to the resort via Facebook. Their only reply was a generic apology asking for reservation details, despite already having my name and contact information. No accountability or corrective action was offered. This is not hospitality.
