I would give zero stars if I could - this company is a scam!
Please believe all the negative reviews, and do not waste your money on this scam of a company!! Their website is full of lies - they do not deliver within 10 working days, and there is no “100% peace-of-mind guarantee”. And they will lie to you over and over again about the status of your order. After 6 months and two botched attempts at making the progressive sunglasses I ordered, they still refuse to refund my $300.
I placed the order in Sep 2025, using the same script as for glasses I’ve had made through Clearly (which are great - should have stuck with them!). I received the glasses from Optically over a month after ordering, and they were so bad I couldn’t even see through them. They refused to refund me, me, saying I needed to return them and they would remake them instead. I returned the faulty glasses in Nov, and then spent the next 4 months trying to get updates. I finally got the replacement sunglasses in Mar 2026! But - they’d remade them with pale grey lenses, which was not what I’d ordered, and completely useless as sunglasses. And after all this, they are still refusing to refund my money.
As others have said, they are not an NZ company, just some sort of dropshipping set up, operating out of Australia I think? The NZ customer support is a joke - no one answers the phone, you just get email responses from “Joy” who sounds suspiciously like AI. I got almost word-for-word identical emails in Jan, Feb, and Mar saying that the lenses would be processed in 5-7 business days then sent to the lab for checking.
Save your money and use ANY other company than this!!
My two rimless pairs of spectacles (One single vision and the other one an occupational pair)

I ordered two pairs of spectacles, rimless (Silhouette). Although it took some time before I received them, I am delighted by the results. They are well done, with a nice polished bevel, but most importantly, all the parameters have been respected and my vision is great. Great quality of lenses at a great price. And the customer service is also amazing as I rang a few times and the people answering are always courteous and polite. I will not hesitate to recommend Optically to anyone I know who needs their glasses done. A special mention to Mike who answered the phone most times I rang. He is a great ambassador of the customer service of Optically.

Great team at customer support. I had an issue uploading my eye prescription to my order, customer service picked up on this. With their help, I was able to get my order back on track and was kept up to date with progress. Once I received my glasses, they were exactly as I wanted. I will be ordering more glasses in the future

Fake NZ store, DO NOT buy from them
Paid for glasses via PayPal. Received confirmation email. Then no updates. I asked for a GST receipt and they couldn't provide a GST number. Received no updates for a week, so email again. They stated the lenses needed to be specially made and then cut, this would take an additional 7-12 business days. I ordered Oct 26th, and I'm currently waiting a full month without any indication of progress...and they've gone cold on communication.
Their 'address' listed is for a gas station, and they run a similar Australian website that appears to be just as fraudulent and misleading.
They're actively trying to convince you they're based in NZ, but they're not.
Either they're a drop shipper with terrible customer service and no control over their product, or out right scam.
*5/12/25 - still nothing, despite being told I would have items in a couple days.

Such good value! I received my old frames I bought in an op-shop for $10 then spent $79 for the lenses. An optometrist was going to charge me $600 so I saved lots.
It took three weeks. Now I can get my other glasses fixed as a back up pair :)

I had concerns that using this service would result in an average product but I can honestly says these glasses are the best I have ever purchased and the price was brilliant.
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM EVER! The website is just full of false promises
They have made nothing but false promises on their websites, correspondences were ignored despite the promises on the website. Their website says it will be delivered within 10 working days in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch or an additional 3 days outside of these areas.
Their website also guaranteed AU tracking number within 3 days.
When I placed the order, I specifically stated that I was travelling in 2 weeks and needed the glasses. I had no acknowledgement for 3 days and chased them up. 5 days from the order date I was given an order tracking to see check on the progress of the glasses. It was "processing". I knew I could not wait any longer due to travel time - note that this is for work travel and I needed my glasses for presenting as I broke one pair.
10 days after the original order date, after multiple messages I was told that there was a need to wait another 7-8 days as it was multifocal. I asked to cancel the order as I could not wait. On the same day I was given an AU Post tracking number and told that it was despatched and if I was not happy when it arrived I could get a refund. Note that I live in New Zealand and not Australia. The Australia Post only shows it being picked up in Australia and nothing else. There was no destination either.
So please DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM. I should have read reviews about them before purchasing.
It has been over 3 weeks since I placed the order. The items is no where to be found, there is no New Zealand tracking number. It does not say where the parcel is going. I paid for designer glasses so I can't basically just purchase another pair of glasses whilst I wait to return these. I am reporting them to the Consumers Guarantee both in Australia and New Zealand
Good re-glazing service for fraction of price normally charged when visitin local shop
First time ever I used re-glazing services since living in New Zealand. I received great service. Yes, it took approximately 2 months, since posting it till receiving it, but it is for fraction of price as if it was done with local glasses shop such as Specsavers. In essence most of them are not even interested in re-glazing and every time you are forced to buy new frames. The email communication was efficient, I received replies within few hours each time I interacted with company rep.
